When I was growing up, there were only a handful of women who rocked. I'm sure there were more but we weren't able to see them without the internet. Now it seems every band I see has 3, 4, or BAND-MAID 5, crazy talented ladies that just tear things up. This singers style, and voice, is a little too dark for me but the music itself is insane.
The sound you refer to is actually a slight variation on Islamic faith music, and is prevalent to the Middle East is and in South East Asia (the largest concentration of muslims outside of the Middle East). It is especially significant in that this is a message to "Allah" (God), in an almost way, for permission and to be allowed to play music like others (meaning muslim men), which is the reason why the song exists. I wont go into the politics or hierarchy of Islam but it is their dreams that are giving the death threats primarily from the very people in their community and with whom they worship with.
Indeed their time was long overdue. There are actually a few all-female bands in the 60's and 70's that were very sadly under-promoted by the major labels, so it's great to see their "granddaughters", so to speak, breaking out now.

VoB is an extraordinary metal band from the remote village of Garut, West Java, Indonesia. Voice of Baceprot. Baceprot comes from Sundanese which means to babble or be noisy. The members are Firda Marsya Kurnia (guitar - vocals), Widi Rahmawati (bass) and Euis Sitti Aisyah (drums). all three have extraordinary abilities. her skills are classy. I love VoB ❤❤❤❤❤

Your first pronunciation is the correct one (the one where you did pronounce the "t"), according to the standard Bahasa Indonesia pronunciations. If there were any localized differences, then apologies but I wouldn't know them (Indonesia has quite a lot of localized dialects). The history of this band is actually interesting - it all begins in school and all that, but the opposition to their band is real mon. Yes, It's a trio. Truthfully, I didn't take much interest in this band, mainly because their music does not quite resonate with me (though their lyrics actually do). I guess that's why I watch your videos - so that I can gain a greater appreciation of a song. As you have pointed out, they're technically excellent, and I guess I knew that all along. It's the composition that somehow does not interest me - the chord progressions and riffs just do not go alongside the meaning of the song itself (in my own little head). Also, the tune honestly does not move me in any way. It's the same reason why I never took interest in most Indonesian/Malay songs. This all leads me to my own personal question - why do certain band's music resonate with me while others do not? Also, am I missing something in the appreciation of such music? Is this actually the case for VoB? This time, I am actually sorry if I offended any fans of VoB and Indonesian/Malay songs in general (I'm normally not sorry at all!). Truly, lovers of all-woman hard rock groups are eating well in this blessed era.
