I am looking for a boat that can make the wife and kids happy with some comforts but make me happy with flats fishing. Is this boat suitable to fish from in 3 ft water or so? Outside the draft, is it suitable to fish on due to all the grime associated with the sport?
Hey Steve. We would say that the Axopar has more a deep Vee hull. Which is great for a soft offshore style hull but has more draft for shallow water fishing in 3ft or so. Maybe look for something with a bit more beam for a stable platform and shallow draft, however the negative will be less ride comfort for the family; a flat bottom or shallow draft hull tends to “belly flop” over the waves causes slamming rather than cut through as well. Have you looked at a Bass Boat for really shallow water fishing? Having said that, recreational fishing would be fine onboard this Axopar which is geared to the family leisure user 🤟🏻
