Finally! A new REAL video since... 4 months... All jokes aside, I just realised it's over 10 minutes long... that's a first! Thank you, EVERYONE, for all of the overwhelming support and kind words! Have a great day everyone! I sure did.
6:13 Those are metronomes, but I forgive you :P That stage is in the music world and the birds are the resident conductors, they "need" the metronomes to restore the music to the place, so the soundtrack is fuller when you return one metronome, until you return the last one and the soundtrack is complete.
I played Ristar (Genesis version) a few years ago and it was awesome to see what you thought of this game, you explained the topics well and the editing is phenomenal as well as that your animation has improved. Hope you plan to make these type of videos in the future :)
Finally a Ristar video in 2020 I could eat up ristar content for the rest of my life if I have to I'm upset I'm so late to this but still thanks for keeping ristar relevant given that it's my favorite game of all time
Great review! I’ve no idea where the “Ray” in “Ristar” came from but you do you and I thoroughly enjoyed the video. Having just completed a retrospective review on my own channel it was great to get another perspective. 👍🏻
This review is certainly tempting me to try out the Game Gear version of Ristar. I already considered the Genesis version of Ristar to be one of my favourite games, but if the Game Gear version is an improvement in terms of gameplay, it definitely must be a masterpiece.
This game will always be special to me. Was about 7 years old in 2003 when I got it at the peak of my sonic and Sega obsession. All I really knew at that time is that it was made by some of the same people who made Sonic but it blew me away. One aspect of the game that deserves more attention is how the boss of planet automaton telegraphs his attacks before you actually reach him. Seeing him chucking the bolt on the monitors in the background before it actually comes on screen was the coolest thing ever, and if I ever do game development, there is a 100% chance that there will be a callback to that. 😊
Rye-star for life! But yeah whatever the hell you wanna call him, Ristar definitely needs more love. The graphics are legit some of the best from the 16-bit era, and the music is sublime! Gameplay is fun, could use some tweaks (I never played the Game Gear ver.), but this is a Genesis game I wish I grew up with. Playing it now is just as sweet tho. Nice review!
i hate how some people just wanna try out some fun, small, neat games like among us and fall guys and then all of a sudden EVERYONE just HAS to play them as well. I mean, sure. It's fun for the creators to get recognized more. But it's just kinda unfair

Wow love the animation in this 🤩
Thanks Freggie! I've been working on it for a while! Glad it payed off! :)
Underrated game. I would love a sequel or just new game in general.
What would be the fun then?In the original game, the stated goal is to free the planets galaxy and father from captivitye
I’m gonna be real this is a amazing video with the way you explain the plot, and the animation, keep up the good work dude

Have you ever heard of a Sega Saturn platformer called Astal? He's also another underrated Sega mascot.
hmm well it definitely looks interesting, but im not sure how to emulate saturn games... i might look into it tho.

Is this a new series or video style? Either way I love it! 9/10 +Was a great video -Pronounced it RAY-star instead of RYE-star.

This is fantastic editing!

I wish sega would make more games for their old mascots rather than just porting them over and over again
