Hey Edgar. Yes it is one of my favorites too. I love medieval history and I'm an undercover history nerd here. Glad you enjoyed the video and be sure to look out for more coming soon.
I go there all of the time. its much more enjoyable on a weekday during the warmer months. i recommend entering thru the door opposite the bus stop, take your time when inside, find good spot and just sit for a while. A lot of whats on display is within arms reach, but please DONT TOUCH ANYTHING even the small doors that contain a fire hose inside. they too are 500 years old
Hey Keith, I agree a weekday is much more quiet and in the warmer months you can wander through the gardens. And you're right it is a very reflective place, especially if you are interested in religious art and architecture. It's amazing how close and open these priceless works are to everyday people. Like in the video, those old wood doors were within arms reach. Thanks for the tips and stay tuned for more videos!
@@ariela_ $30 for adult but if you are a NY resident and show them an ID that proves it you can pay whatever you like. You can pay nothing if you like, I usually give 10 or 20 bucks.
I used to live across the street from the park. Went to the Cloisters all the time. Went there on several school trips. Took my kids there. Beautiful building. It's a lovely place in the summer.
Hey Merinomagician. Yes it is a wonderful place to visit if you are interested in Medieval art and architecture and one of the best places to get a look this side of the Atlantic. Kids love it because its like you're in a real castle. The summer and spring are great with the gardens like you mentioned. Thanks for your input.
Hi Turbon, I'm glad you enjoyed the video. The Cloisters Museum is really something to see if you are interested in Medieval Art and Architecture. Best look at it, this side of the Atlantic.
The Sunday is very easy to take from Manhattan Better to get off at the stop where you walk from entry into Fort Tryon The exit on their website directions I THINK is a steep climb for people with physical challenges
Yes the climb from the A train can be daunting. They have a small parking lot for drivers that is free that takes you much closer to the entrance, but even though it is a steep climb from the subway the park is nice and provides excellent views.

I used to go there on field trips with my schoolmates in the 1960's. It feuled my love of history. Thanks for the video.

It's not a castle. It is a replica monastery! WITH 4 CLOISTERS. Hence the Cloisters Museum
Hey Tony. Thanks for the clarification. Yes a monastery- the word “castle” just adds to the drama…

In fact it is an Spanish monastery 😭
But this is a monastery not a castle!!!
Gosh-awful background music. And it's a monastery, not a castle.
