For those interested, if your looking for something more permanent, you could run a bolt up from the bottom pan then through the center of the upper and use a nut to hold that pan down on the marbles. So long as you don't tighten it too much it will still spin and it makes it so you can lift and move the whole thing around without fear of the marbles getting out. Thank you for the tutorial!
Also maybe lining the sides and lip would cut down on some of the wiggle? It would all help with noise but make it slightly stiffer to turn. That isn't necessarily a bad thing though as sometimes you don't want things to spin at the slightest suggestion.
You have literally just saved me some money.... I was getting ready to order one from Amazon and I said let me go to UA-cam FIRST! Then I saw You, Thanks Honey. I appreciate your simplicity. I'm Subscribed to your channel now :)
Thank you sooooo much. You are doing a service for us, well those who are on a budget budget! I appreciate you tremendously 😊. I'm on such a tight budget and trying to make things to sell. Thank you again!! You rock.
I love this idea I brought it a little further by using an old clean wine bottle and a bottle light kit added that to the top of a burner cover with a wine design over the marbles in the cake pan. Put a dollar tree magnetic tin with see-through cover (for earrings before bed to go in) next to the lamp and placed it on a small round end table next to the bed. It's the perfect size to set a glass of water next to the bed.
Thank you, thank you, and thank you once again! Since becoming disabled I have been having a difficult time getting to many of the items I want. I have professionally installed turn shelves in my kitchen, but now even getting the proper medication has become a chore. To make them myself will be so good as I can make them to fit the size of the space required. I live in Canada; alas no dollar tree stores but ...!!! I have read all your viewer's questions and comments. IF you have any more ideas about how I can make things more accessible to me, my ears are open. Welcome me as a new subscriber!!!
Nice!! Thanks for the idea. I was wondering if anyone had figured out how to make 1 yet and there u are. I have a suggestion for u if you would like to use it. I would use my hot glue and draw small circles spaced out evenly on the bottom of that cake pan (base) to help it stay in place gripping the surface it sets on. Just an idea. I've used hot glue before for that very reason so it's a quick cheap fix no doubt.
Hello. Just an idea. If you attach a piece of fabric to the bottom of the metal dish that completely covers the surface you will reduce the noise made by the glass biles. It's just an idea. Gabriel (France).
What a great, cheap idea! Do you think this could be multi tiered like the ones made with the candle sticks glued to the middle to add more trays onto? Or is the base not sturdy enough? Actually, if you glued another charger or Maybe even a pizza pan to the base it would probably make it sturdier. Maybe turn them upside down and glue them that way to the bottom cake pan. I guess the top pie pan would probably the problem once you stabilize the bottom one.
For roughly $6 you could get a true lazy susan base from a hardware store or even Amazon, and then attach it to a dollar store cutting board or even hot glue it to the same charger. No obnoxious noise. No lateral movement from the gap between the cake pans. I get that some folks have an obsession with using stuff freon the dollar store for making the cheapest possible variation that could vaguely be argued as functioning the same, but you're spending almost as much to get a far worse, less stable version that's already showing signs of wear. There are ways to do things inexpensively without it looking like it's a dollar store "close enough" version, but it starts with a few minutes of research into what makes a functioning part of something work, in this case the lazy susan ball bearing plate, and if it's available for DIY projects, which in this case it is. I could see this as a way to introduce elementary school children to the functional aspect of how ball bearings work without spending much, but as a daily use item, those pans are going to be so dented in a few hours it's going to be uneven and not spin right, if at all. Those pans weren't made to withstand what you're asking of it.
My Dollar Tree didn't have any of those items? Does your Dollar Tree still have these items? My Dollar Tree is on back order with those cake tins. Walmart to the rescue. Thanks
@@gaetanabella3679 I didn't realize it looks like a negative comment to others. I don't decorate cakes much so it looks like a great idea for me because I'm on a budget (so cheap isn't a negative word for me). XD

You’re smart and I like your ideas. Subscribing!
Clever girl! I bet if you lined the areas housing the marbles with felt there would be less noise. Either way, so smart. Thanks for sharing Jean!

Thank you Linda 😃
Great idea! Love it
Great idea, many uses.Thank you.
Thank you - just what I was looking for - quick & easy!👍
I wonder if gluing the marbles down in the bottom pan would still let the top spin but with less rattle and less mess if it gets knocked over.
Hey Jean! I always wanted and need a lazy susan! Now a big thanks for showing how I can make one! T4S dear! Love it!😁😁😘
Very clever!
I’m literally sitting in my living room drinking Modelo and laughing my ass off because this is fucking genius. Well done!
I wonder if you add more marbles there would be less “play” and more stability???
Ingenious! I know im two years behind. But still dserving a comment!
Thank you ☺️

Yay! Welcome Beauty 💕 I have enjoyed reading all your comments and look forward to more. Have a wonderful week Nancy!
Smart love this 🙂
Thank you beautiful! :)
You can also use a fidget spinner
Yes I thought of that too 😊 it would work just as good….
I bet you could add some rubber cement to the bottom of the last pan to help it grip whatever you put it on.
Or felt!
Out of all the videos I saw this is the easiest!
and its still going strong! Thank you!!!
Ill be making a cake for my husband's birthday and this is going to be perfect, I had the materials already. Thanks to you! You're awesome 🤩
Miss your DIY’s hope you will be back doing some more.
could you use those smooth rocks instead of marbles they didn't have marbles at my dollar tree going to try these I guess
Bless you!!
The two cake pans you used are they the same ones? Also I need a lazy Susan would this work for doing paint pours?
Yes and yes 👍🏻

Super cool idea
Maybe you could cut a round Cardboard and pt it in the middle so it won’t have the move
Great idea ! Thank you 😊
brilliant!
Thanks!!
My pleasure
Thank you!

Gabriel Niculaita I just thought the same! Great minds think alike! Ha ha
Brilliant.
But uk don't have dollar tree, I'll try poundland. Now lockdown has eased a bit
Thanq.

Yes! I love your entire thought process.
I think it would vary depending on how much weight is put onto it, If u are able to find a way to make it more sturdy then it may work
Great idea xo 😘

Thanks bets lazy Susan on UA-cam

Great idea. But for cake decorating, a more stable surface is imperative.
Wow 😍
❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊
I have done so many of these for my pantry and cabinet. I thought you were showing the one you had made!!
Could you ice cakes with this?
You could pretty easily
Cool
Maybe using plastic plates would lessen the sound
Thank you SOOOOOOOOO MUCH for sharing this hack!!!💛🖤💙💚💜❤️🧡💘💓💗💞💕💝🥰🙏🏾👍🏾👌🏾💆🏾♀️👸🏾
I think is WAY better to use a Fidget Spinner. It will be more stable and smooth. Just saying.
It’s okay, you don’t need to say “just saying”. I appreciate the feedback, I’ve never seen one with a fidget spinner. I’ll have to look it up.
Looks like a good cheap cake decorating turntable for those who dont decorate cakes much :D
So rude!! I love it! We're entitled to our own opinions, but there's no need to criticize 🙄
