Really? You left out Deathmaster Snikch's ability to completely delete a faction?!
Faction change into rebells. Nothing more.
he can do that once every 100 turns, you will use it at most twice in a campaign, but probably only once.
N'kari can do it too. Every ten turns. And instead of being deleted they become your vassal. I'd put that mechanic on the list.
@@axnoro once is too many bro
@@TotalWarPlaya just get good, it's fine. It's crying babies like you that get everything added nowadays just more of the same.
Fuck I did a taurox long victory campaign not knowing there was a button to reset the movement
Beastmen constant ambush/headstones preventing settlements while causing chaos attrition is awesome
Deathmaster Snikch is also very OP in battles because he basically can have a guaranteed ambush every single time you attack.
Every skaven faction plus the Nagarythe high elf faction does that
And taurox while sprinting across the map
i was always confused with the rattling gun upgrades in the forbidden workshop. like the one gives the ability "endless drum" which gives unlimited ammo. and other upgrade gives 10% more ammo. am i missing some key detail?
The endless drum ability provides ammo when ammo count is below a certain level. It's there so the gunners dont run out - but the gunners shoot faster than they reload so expect downtime during prolonged combat.
For Ratling Gunners, their ammo counter is their entire stockpile, and can theoretically shoot for as long as they have ammo. When they run out, they have to reload, which is where Endless Drum kicks in. More ammo before refill = longer time shooting
you didn't mentioned recruitment ambush of Beastman. perhaps you didn't know about that. but you can ambush multiple armies in one AI turn. all you have to do is to recruit at least one unit in your army before hitting the end turn. as long as you keep wining battles your army stay hidden.
7:50 the waagh target matters because is based off of the target. If the target is a legendary lord, it will spawn more elite units such as black orks
I believe only Grimgor gets Black Orcs in his Waaaghs
@@hertogvandamme "higher chance for black orcs"
Everyone can get everything. Every faction just has a lean to a specific type of unit
@@falma2254 ah okay
Man the way you conduct your videos has really improved greatly while looking so effortlessly in the last couple years
You forgot Heralds of Ariel (Sisters of Twilight). Arrow of Khovos (or whatever it is called) for hawk riders is crazy.
Shadowy dealings?
Easily the best mechanic. It's better than the Skype workshop. The ablitity to delete an entire race is more insane than any thing in any total war game
I'd say it's easily edged out by Chorfs and Skaven workshop. The Shadoy Dealings, while VERY powerful, takes a long time to get going, and can't be used all that often.
The ability to destroy a race is *insignificant* next to the power of the force.
Nikari can do it in a tenth of the time
Late-game sacrifices to Sotek may not be broken, but being able to use sacrifices to recruit a bunch of Blessed Temple Guard, so your frontline almost always consists of some of the best melee infantry in the game is pretty good.
So all in all - the evil factions all have OP mechanics, gotcha.
As Dark Helmet said- being good is dumb
High Elves have some OP mechanics, too. Influence alone is really strong. They were way more OP when you could stack +income and +winds of magic hero traits in Total Warhammer 2, but they're still stronk like Ukraine.
>implying ukraine is strong@@thevoxdeus
I mean to say the full darth helmet quote, “Evil Will Always Triumph, Because Good Is Dumb“
where's clan moulders mechanic that's pretty good too.
i have a campaign as grimgor and getting the early t4 or t5 settlement by turn 5 sets you up real nice, i have like 5 or 6 armies and im on like turn 134, i love popping a waggghh and then absoulutely ramaging through a faction that is at war with me,
You can get indestructible black orks with grimgor.
People wanting chorfs nerfed when they take effort and upkeep to have a lesser version of the Forbidden Workshop that's still OP after having been nerfed already on one of the most varied and supplemented factions in the game.
If some want regular dwarfs buffed, that's fair, but wanting chaos dwarfs to suck just because regular dwarfs do is pretty lame.
My first Taurox campaign turned into an accidental one man doomstack, also my first time wielding the sword of khaine, just ended up sending in taurox solo and taking all of ulthuan in 2 turns
Khorne blood host and Slaanesh desciple armies are also very powerful mechanics that give you free armies , Slaanesh ones dont even have upkeep cost, only cultists from which you have more then you will ever need anyway, and you can ocasionaly target an army and have desciple armies spawn on it every turn for 4 turns - 4 extra armies for free , they are mostly basic low tier troops but you can get a lot of those armies, the seduction mehanic is also very strong
I chuckled when I realized who number one would be as soon as you said 'imagine how broken that would be' about infinite ammo
U can print fuel by having multiple warlock masters fighting rebel armies in ur minor settlement (legendary) or enemy one (other diff~) while raiding it. Can have assistance of other lords if ur economy is strong enough. I've had dozens of armies on to farm levels on easy before I've expanded
I'd add Chaos warband mechanic on the same tier as black Arks/Vamp coast
your armies are never obsolete and modular and you can get a bunch of aspiring champions out of thin air like raise dead does
Currently working on pushing Slaanesh to its limit. I’m at 76 armies right now. Most of them have 0 up keep cuz they’re disciple armies. They last forever as long as they are on 100/100 slaanesh corrupted land
Maybe not on par with the others, but Kroq Gar has recruiting level 50 scar vets and old bloods with +50% weapon damage. Just build saurus buildings everywhere and you reach max level lord and hero recruitment by turn 80. Stacks of these cause havoc if supported by an oracle with healing.
Yo, it would be cool if you did a video on tips and tricks about using your mouse and keyboard to better move and coordinate your armies. I know I could just experiment on my own, but there might be some less than obvious things that I don't know about.
Here some tips.
1. Don't charge your army Right away from start. Try to maintain your formation as close as possible before charging.
2. Charge your unit 1 by 1. Don't just mindlessly charge all your army, even with locked group. By charging it one by one, you could see better how the battlefield turning. Also, you could support your army better with your reserve elite infantry.
3. Don't be afraid for your Frontline to get flanked. Especially if your unit is a tanky unit (dwarf, chaos warrior, etc.) Instead just prepare a punishment for your enemy if they try to flank them. For example, you put greatsword infantry as reserve behind it. They flank your front, you flank them back with better infantry. You could also put gunner/low range high damage unit for it.
4. Split your army into multiple locked group. Especially on uneven terrain. Having your entire army moved in one locked group could be disastrous if the pathfinding is bad. Also having multiple locked group will make you having easier time to encircle your enemy. Think of your formation as left hand, body, and right hand and you want to hug your enemy tightly.
5. Having trouble against long line enemy formation that longer than your army? Give up on flanking one of their side. Instead, try to imagine your formation as sword and shield. Your army on the sword group will play aggressively and focused to flank one of their flank, and the shield group will play defensively to make sure your sword group don't get flanked.
WAAAGHS are dumb, 40 units in 1 army?! The amount of frustration this caused is not worth all the money GW charges for the hole game.
Minor mention to Talsyn getting free upkeep for having 25 active wars. Very strong however not OP due to Welfs dogshit recruitment slots capping out at 2 with the best units being 2 turn.
What about prestige? It's decent normally but with emperor of the empire it can get pretty insane. Supercharge your economy, recruit 20 units in 2 turns, make a new army out of nowhere, delete corruption. Not to mention that you can use it to improve relations for free.
Love this channel :)
Honestly all three skaven unique mechanics are great. Skrye's is the best, but snitch gets effects to mess with enemies and delete factions, and throt can make armies eith massive monsters fast and thousands of mutated rats.
Oxyotl vision of the old ones
Fighting Malus as Zarkon is sick.
Athel Tamarha. Steal the different unique buffs from different factions and slap 'em on powerful HE units
Honestly it's difficult to decide which faction is the most overpowered with the mechanics as well mainly because they're still going to be some more added DLCs plus legendary Lords which will improve that one's faction such as the changeling for one is quite the interesting faction, not to mention we still haven't got the greater demons for the skaven yet aka the vermin Lords so I think I'm just going to wait until we at least get that deal see and then decide which is the most overpowered.❤ Also love your channel and I really love the work you do it makes it a lot easier to play Total war Warhammer especially when some of us need to visual.
Empire is weakest , all others are OP 😂
Im disappointed the Sisters of Twilight's Hawk Riders Arrow of Kurnous abilities arent mentioned. Have you guys tried a full army of Hawk Riders? One volley essentially demolishes 1/3 of any non monster unit, and even without that they have their normal AP damage missile attacks AND decent melee combat stats, not to mention they can stack up on top of each other when ganking enemies, especially large opponents. Combined with the sisters' buffs they are virtually impossible to stop. A single army of them can probably take on 3 or 4 generic armies on their own. The best thing? You dont need to do much to set this up.
How did Khornes/Skarbrands Bloodhost armies not make this list?
Defintely a super strong mechanic. Was thinking it would come in about 4th or 5th.
This whole list screams "ORDER TIDE UPDATE, PLS!"
Really the problem with most games is normalizing which is the result of a claim of OP mechanic and makes said mechanical crap in the end. I don't agree with the Broken or Overpowered term when it comes to games. We get factions that are strong but it's a challenge to beat them with other things, otherwise, they become the same and have no uniqueness. CA needs to upgrade other factions to come close to some of these so we have different things otherwise normalizing comes in and breaks the game IMO. Every faction should feel OP when you learn to play its strengths and every faction should have a few weaknesses. Skaven has plenty(Food and morale) and I never struggle against them. Just my two cents!
I love playing as Ikit Claw, he's super powerful when you play to his strengths, but if you play to his weaknesses of course he is weak in that regard. When playing against Skaven, I just know not to let myself be caught by their stalk and always make sure I'm the one attacking, or I make sure that I have a large and powerful enough army that being caught by ambush is not going to hurt me.
I disagree. Taurox and Skarbrand campaigns are less fun than they could be because of the OP mechanics. Especially Taurox makes me lose interest many turns earlier than other factions because it feels pointless to continue.
You've missed grimgor starting the campaign with a t4 or 5 if lucky settlement and just raiding cathay caravan
11:41 "nucular bombs"
why is Game Workshop so in love with Skaven? it's almost like there's a secret force at work...
If you take Skaven at least talk about how utterly OP throts one is because He can buff every unit to mutter hell beasts and snikch
If Slaanesh forced vassalization worked it'd be op too. Seductive influence seems bugged on cult buildings though so you need to rely on diplomacy or killing lords or something. You can't actually maintain the chorf hellforge mechanic (at least not before I finished the drill campaign) with whatever cheat codes were used for this video. Doesn't belong on this list and it's not that op.
I've just finished a slaneesh campaign and didn't notice any bug. Forced vassalize is absolutely OP: every ten turn an entire faction would just become mine. It's ridiculous. Like Snikch power but better and ten times as often...
Chaos dwarf is definitely op. You could also maintained it easily if you find labor as many as possible. Having some province dedicated to factory will get you so many gold and weapon (commandments).
Everyone bringing up Snikch' shadowy dealings and deleting a faction, but forget that the countdown is ONE HUNDRED TURNS 😂 i think I've used that ability at most twice in the same campaign, so no i don't think it holds up because it's very rarely necessary, and almost never available
I almost always disband my waaaghs because they slow the main army down the capital buffs are welcome though
2:00: SKELETON WARRIORS
Some of this (as well as what's being said in comments) is lacking context, it's looking at the mechanic on it's own. Gattlings are very easy to counter.
Like snikch shadowy dealings seems op, unlock a delete a faction with a 100 turn cooldown. But look at it in the eyes of a good player, what is one faction every 100 turns? by turn 150 I've pretty much won the game no matter the faction, so I see the shadowy dealings as a fast forward button.
But those goblin archers with frag arrows... that gives me nightmares.
No one's mentioning Slaanesh's ability to Vassalize every human and Elf faction on the entire map? It takes a bit to get going, but it's very easy to get your affinity up with them to avoid war while you wait for it to build.
You get nearly half of the entire map completely in your service without having to fight a battle.
It’s slower than just taking the settlements the normal way lol
@@danielwoods3896taking settlements the normal way doesn’t provide you with vassals.
@@dragoxk4542 actually it does, you just have to take their last settlement or the capital of a former country
Can I use tribal confederation while playing lizardmen faction?
No
Just imagine Deathmaster Snitch AI deleting my late game faction! Is that possible...?
I don't think I'll be having any fun that's for sure 😂
one game later and ikit is still busted op and on top
But Nkari can take 4 places with armies of subdits and goldo in a same turn
Ermm Orion's -8% upkeep for every war? Declare war on enough factions and all your armies have 0% upkeep
Why no flesh lab?
N'kari would need to be here. Once you've accepted you won't have any friends other than your vassals, the game get really funny.
Enslave all your high elf neighbors, afterwards to the same to the dark elf and follow up by doing the same to the human factions.
With your summoning ability you will also always have enough armies to defend your holding and push on without care.
With the buff on income you get from your Vasalls you also have infinite money to spend on your armies.
What about the Armies of khorne That u can spread like a Virus
soooo essentially you either have friends or you have the best mechanics, because it seesm like all the best mechanics belong to bad guys. intentional maybe?
11:50: Why do so many Bretons say 'Nucular?' People make fun of Americans for that, but way more Brits say that.
The mortuary cult? infinite heroes, armies and troops (necrotect unit cap traits and skills) with no upkeep wasn't good enough to make the list?
Doesn't it take forever though? Or the use of exploits.
@ Not really, like a hundred turns to get it up and running tho yeah. I can only speak for Khatep (25% reduction to MC costs) since that's the only one I've played. I played him very canopic jars focussed mind you (as you should), always giving priority to unlucking heroes and giving absolute prio to their CJs skills. If you also trait manage a bit (manually disbanding and recruiting, no mods) for the trustworthy trait you can get like +40 relations with all factions easily by like turn 100, which is absolutely crazy in my opinion
Dude ...Do you just hate Kholek or do you not realize just how powerful he is with his ability to become stronger just from getting more vassals. And ontop of that most things can become Vassels. that and the fact snitch can literally just delete a faction. Honestly you really overlooked some.
Snikchs anarchy mechanic is missing 😊
I notice more and more people doing specific challenge campaigns to make the game difficult, and entertaining again for streaming. It is sad because this is supposed to be a strategy game. I know I find myself playing other games more lately because this has become more of a fan game than a strategy game. Nothing wrong with that but the recent DLC seems to add even more OP mechanics.
Clearly you still haven't cheesed Be'Lakor portals. Most broken shit in the entire franchise.
Shadowy dealings > forbidden workshop
orions war buff
:O
This guy only knows the most obvious surphace things about the game. Sometimes I wonder if he actually plays it ot just reads the tooltips. How do you not mention Snichs ability to insta delete a faction or damage reduction mechanics or upkeep reduction mechanics or infinite income mechanics?
I think you missed a trick when it comes to the Skaven Food mechanic. Build up enough food and take over any settlement at max level, or one below it if you want to take advantage of the almost equally broken Skaven growth rate. As a Skaven, you can abandon your starting capital and re-colonize it to tier 4 or 5 fairly early in every campaign, and then just keep on doing it with all your new territories as well.
And while Clan Skryre is powerful thanks to the Forbidden Workshop, there are other Skaven factions with very powerful mechanics. Because line of sight weapons aren't that great in WH3, I'd even say the Forbidden Workshop isn't the most powerful mechanic available to the Skaven. Yes, Ratling Gunners with infinite ammo sound very powerful, but when they spend nearly an entire battle and hardly fire a shot, that ammo count doesn't matter much and you've wasted your resources by bringing them. And because you can't easily put a unit in front of the ratling gunners to protect them the way you can with indirect fire (slinger/archer/some artillery) units, they can suffer huge losses if the enemy attacks them.
Dude, your accent… I can understand only half of your words. Moreover you talk so fast, so it gets even worse. That’s by far not the first your video I watch
It’s always fun seeing someone insult how another person communicates and then screw up their own words. “That’s by far not the first your video I watch[.]” Really? If going going to attack someone on their speech at least proofread your comment.
