I think this came from an Amsterdam concert. A lovely, haunting melody, and a very memorable performance as per expected of these young brothers. Thanks yet again- you light up my quiet times Cathy,
Wat laten jullie ons elke dag weer genieten van beider talenten met het prachtige pianospel en virtuositeit Groet van Joop en Mieke van Kempen Vrienden R F O
This is a highly emotional piece, when you look at the way other duos, like Christina & Michelle Naughton, plays this then you would see a lot of similarities in facial expression/body language. Plus, Artists are meant to express themselves in whichever way they want, some would accept the way they are, some don't. You are one of those who doesn't, fair enough! But I don't think "staged" is the right word; Imagine this, that they played the piece without ANY facial expression or body movement, it would not have sounded the same! They are not just playing the piece, they are also interpreting the piece "emotionally", and those emotions come out in the form of facial expression, body language etc.
The playing was exquisite...but the "staged" moments of eyes and hands and "'swooning" are a bit far-fetched. Gentlemen, please stay with what you do best...play the music as beautifully as you know how to do. Your earlier performances didn't have this type of "showing-off"...please revert to "normal". Thank you for your gorgeous pianism.
How do you dare to tell artists how they should behave on stage ! An artist express his feelings the way he feels it. Your contribution is so academic and rigid !
I fully agree with the sentiments of the three previous contributors. These two brilliant brothers have a natural empathy with the music they perform, and equally importantly, WITH EACH OTHER. They are NOT robots. Bodily movement, facial expression etc - all part and parcel of the gift of musical and poetic communication, which is what these brothers excel at. Just shut your eyes and listen!
Christopher Armstrong-Stevenson I don’t think they are staged. And their facial expressions are actually restrained compared to many pianists. They just sway a bit.
So good to hear the MUSIC, not just the notes. So refreshing.👏👏👍👍
What artistry! No matter how many times I listen, the effect is the same. Beautiful playing!

Too exciting for you is it, two nubile young bodies swaying with the rhythm of the music. It's very simple, shut your eyes......
Can artists expression themselves the way they feel with you telling them how to do so? Sounds like you need to get out of the 19th C.
