Super cool build. I was waiting for someone to make an 04 65mm whoop soon. I've got a few tips that might make this thing fly a bit better and actually a viable thing to fly regularly. You could use the new betafpv board with a built in bec to save a ton of weight, a meteor 65 air frame to save a bit more and they're pretty much just as durable as the happymodel one your using. I also use that frame but for a heavy build like this i'd switch over. You can still get a pretty good tune on a 8bit esc by using blujay so I wouldn't be concerned about using a board with am32. Some higher kv motors might be nice but not necessary. But one thing you should definitely do to not break your o4 is put a tiny piece of foam underneath the camera in between the board. Those 3d printed mounts are nice but a lot of people including myself have broken vtxs frome those bending in a crash.
Thank you mate. Excellent points you make. The new AIO is here: betafpv.com/collections/brushless-flight-controller/products/matrix-1s-brushless-flight-controller-hd I didn't know it existed till now! haha. Looks good. I use AM32 as I like the 32bit power from the escs. They provide more power to the motors than 8bit escs do. That's just my view though. As there is a tradeoff for weight. Whilst not in the video I did put a piece of foam tape under the camera, on the vtx. :) The killer is this 31mm format is just now viable, whilst it can actually pull it off - quad needs 80% throttle for hover. So going up in kV makes perfect sense. Those poor 300mAh packs though, lol...
What are your settings for the esc? I cannot get the lucid to spin up all 4 motors on startup. I know all esc's work. I have this issue on two of the aio's.
Yeah I had challenges too. Here is the build thread with esc settings dump: intofpv.com/t-o4-65mm-whoop-build Also here is the link to the latest version of the AM32 firmware as Alka hadn't udpated the repo for 2.17 from the original factory 2.03: intofpv.com/t-cli-dump-for-tbs-lucid-aio-at32-7a-1-2s
@@stuffbymatt583 thank you! I All motors are starting up. Do you have a PID dump...no matter what I set the PIDs I get terrible oscillations trying to just hover. Did you update the betaflight from stock? I cannot get in DFU mode. This AIO is unlike any I have used! So far I am running 75mm O4. Is the 5volt 2A bec any good on this fc?
@@ChrisLBradly great to hear! try the uav tech whoop (1 & 2s) tune and try turning down master multiplier. Running factory stock 4.5.0 on this. In the cli type BL, that will reset to bootloader mode without pushing the boot button. Also check the manual misprint for the uart, info in my dump thread I linked to. Haven't tried the 5V2A bec on this, it might work but doubt it.
@ thank you!!! I played around with the PID sliders and discovered after only turning the D gain to 1.35 stopped the crazy oscillations! Now time try preset tunes. thanks again! 🙂
Flight time is tricky. I think I can get up to 2 mins with triblades and the 25K motors. Throttle is crap though at 80% hover. This was just a proof of concept really. 30Kv motors would improve flight performance and reduce throttle hover but will kill flight time.
thank you man, the screws are M1.4, self tappers, 12mm length. I think I originally got them in the Walksnail 1s lite kit as they are longer for whoops with digital vtxs.
Cool little build 👍 put mine in a mob 8, good bit of fun.
yeah opens up a lot for gorilla whoopin!

Which exact exact board are you referring to? If I am not mistaken about the weight difference between those boards is 0.1g The BEC is 0.4g ...
@@Nurek07 That's my bad I thought the lucid was a bit heavier
I’m also planing to use one of these 3d printed mounts. Do you mean basically putting the foam on the o4? How would you secure it in place?

Nice.
good stuff 🚀🕶
ty!
Great video bro Just found the channel and subbed.
ty man!
thx for vid mate
you're welcome mate, it's a bit rough and ready but I just wanted to quickly share that 1S is easy on this vtx with the right BEC.
your graden has a lot of greens now brother
Thank you man, the Mrs is a horticulturalist, and it shows!

Do you think it would give more flight time with 30kv motors?

The higher kv would just reduce flight time
@LoganimFPV Okay Thanks
@@stuffbymatt583 Your thing would be to find the balance so that the flight time does not die and that the gas is at 50% in hover.
great video. What size are the screws you used on the stack?

Nice flight they need some with different cam angles
Trying to work out where you are in Australia from the scenes shared ??
Melbourne mate. South east. :)
Wazzzzz up Matt 😁
