What an amazing tug Boat ❤ beautiful colors Scheme ,i would paint the deck in a dark graphite Gray...you can be proud working on a tugboat like this one ❤️
So cool. Thank you, for showing us the mystery that was always the tug! Nice boat! I pray for your safety as you do your dangerous job. Great tour. Salute! 🌹⚓
I love your vids. I live so far away from the ocean so your videos are a nice moment to discover a total different world of mine. Thanks for that Tugboat Willy.
Oh man, another video from you and it's a tour, no less! Wow you've got a lot of space for a ship that is so "small"! I would have thought you'd stay onshore overnight or something, but clearly not the case lol. Another brill video, enjoy your 2 weeks off and thanks for the tour!
As a commercial shellfisherman in Rhode Island seeing these tugs up and down to providence ; always wondered what the inside looked like . Great video , would be nice if you could do one of the older fleet like the ones in providence ,good job
Two cool things about this boat: 1. its at least somewhat cozy and homeley 2. NY CITY!! Yeee boi :D On a more serious and interesting sidenote your channel has reminded me of something i had long considered and forgotten about; becoming a Tugboat captain :)
Thanks much. Great video. That is one awesome boat. Maybe sometime you could share how much the big ships pay to get moved around once they enter the harbor. Thanks again.
Got to watching this video again. My parents are curious about how I'm going to live on a tugboat when i finally get the chance to. I'm currently waiting for the NMC to evaluate my MMC application. My parents are worried about how i can do with living on a tugboat and can't seem to understand what I'm trying to tell them.😂 I used this video as an example to ease their minds. Got me wondering though.... Do tugboats have clothes washer and dryers onboard, where they usually located?
Thanks for watching! I hope your application gets approved soon. Also all tugs have washers and dryers. Watch the uncle joe interview. Not all tugs look like the one we are on.
pretty soon i'll be able to add tugboat operator to my list of youtube degrees, which include 1800's steam locomotive engineer, WWII tank commander, small plane operator, french chateau rebuilder, antique restorer, and, for some reason, wild west chuck wagon cook, among other useful skills that i'm sure i'll get around to needing.
Everybody does a really good job keeping her clean. Curious how the job scheduling works. Not the two week part, but rather the actual work. How do the tugs get assigned to tasks?
HEY CAPTAIN.....I have a question, but first let me say i just stumbled upon ur vid & absolutely love it!!! I have limited boat knowledge but always been interested in them, esp specialty vessels like this. How much training did u all receive in firefighting? Do u all have any type of ongoing training to retain ur certification(if there is any) to remain working on the boat? I'm located upper Chesapeake bay area & have multiple fire boats for different types of calls, that's why I'm curious to your firefighting portion of the tugboat life. I'm subbing u know & plan on going thru ur vids.....THX & STAY SAFE MY AQUATIC FF BROTHERS!!!
So when you are on for your two week duty, do you live full time on the tug or go home each night, etc. AND are you the captain of the tug or are you operating under a captain?
@@tugboatwilly843 That's awesome!! We used to hang out a bit growing up. He dated a girl that used to live on my block. Ask him what Jackie did to his white Mustang 5.0 convertible if you talk to him. Lol. I haven't seen him in like 20 yrs or so.
Une vraie petite maison sur l'eau, je ne pensais pas que c'était si grand à l'intérieur ^^ Trad google: A real little house on the water, I didn't think it was so big inside ^^
Hats off Capt and crew. Your tug is immaculate. Extremely well maintained.

What’s a ballpark figure on Captains pay? How many jobs a week? Very cool stuff.
Are you guys on the boat for days/ a week at a time? The way the boat is setup makes it seem like it!

possible to get set of drawings to build a rc version?
I’ll see what I can do. Send me an email and thanks for watching 🫡
Yall live aboard for 2 week shifts? Why?
Genuinely curious. It’s cool that you do. Is it just more convenient to have a constant crew?
It’s a 24/7 operation. Just the easiest way to do it
@@tugboatwilly843 that’s honestly cool as hell. I’d love to work a few years aboard a boat of any type.
Hey Will do you know Captn Paul Stingland? He is out of the Philly area. Tug captn for the same company. Old buddy of mine.
I do! He’s a great guy!! I was his mate when I was first getting started. Very good teacher and Skipper!! 🫡

I run RaStar 3200s @ 85T bp
I can vouch that it pulls 90T with no issues. That’s cool Capt! Thanks for watching 🫡
@@tugboatwilly843great videos btw, funny how it’s the same but different as far as pilot comms go.
It would have been nice to see the engine room

I Thought Tugboats was Smaller
Some of them are but ours is just a BIG one 😎 Thanks for watching!
Why do you need all the amenities you have on the boat? Why couldn't you just get on the boat for work and get off when your shift is up?
Shifts are 6 hours and we all live all over the USA. This is a 24 hour operation. Thanks for watching!
LOL
Is he gay?
