    The Klitschko brothers' promotional company, K2 Promotions, won the right to promote the fight with a purse bid of $7,250,131. Klitschko received 80 percent ($5,800,105), and Pulev got 20 percent ($1,450,026).
    Klitschko entered the fight as the IBF, WBO, and WBA "Super" World Heavyweight Champion.
    Pulev entered the fight ranked No. 1 by the IBF, No. 4 by the WBA, and No. 7 by the WBO. He was not ranked by the WBC.
    Only the IBF title was on the line for Pulev who chose not to pay the sanctioning fees of the other organizations. If Klitschko lost, all other titles would've been vacated.
    This was Klitschko's tenth successful defense of The Ring World Heavyweight Championship.
    There was a sellout crowd of 15,000 at the O2 Arena.
    Pulev was down four times: twice in round one, once in round three, and once in round five. The final knockdown was the result of a left hook. Pulev went down flat on his back and was counted out.
    Klitschko landed 38 of 89 punches (43 percent), according to CompuBox statistics. Pulev was credited with connecting on 25 of 110 punches (23 percent).
    The fight estimatedly generated 300 million viewers worldwide.
    The fight averaged 1.8 million viewers with 24.45 rating and 79.27 market share in Bulgaria, becoming the most popular sporting event on Bulgarian TV since 2007 and the most watched programme in the history of the television network Nova TV.
    The fight also averaged 10.5 million viewers in Germany.
    Pulev went to the hospital after the fight. "There is nothing broken, the CT was unremarkable," said Chris Meyer of Sauerland Event, Pulev's promoter. "No bleeding in the brain, only a slight concussion.”
    Before the fight, Pulev said of Klitschko: "He has everything that you need to be a world champion, but he has no heart. He's like a girl."
    After the fight, Klitschko said of Pulev: "I have never seen such arrogance from an opponent and there was a price to pay for that. I don't think he realized he was playing in the champions league."
    Following his knockout loss, Pulev said: "Wladimir is a really good opponent, but he was lucky. I want a rematch. I'll win the next time."
    Pulev was the 22nd opponent Klitschko has defeated for the world heavyweight championship, tying him with the record-holder Joe Louis.
    With this win, Klitschko also became the first ever fighter in any weight class to defend the unified title 13 times in a row.
    Pulev elected not to pay sanctioning fees for the WBA, and WBO titles.

    So annoying. Literally jumping in lunging for a clinch. Both of them. This was not incidental contact and them getting tied up. They both literally would plan to lunge at one another and grab. Referee should be taking points away. Ridiculous.
    Round 4 was close. The rest was a blowout. Klitschko with a shutout.
