    sounds like your action is really low, the strings are buzzing and choked sounding.

    It boost the bottom and the mids and the rounds out the highs in a good way while also sounding clearer n less plinky.. the difference is pretty audible

    Yes my strat springs were set up like a triangle which made it sound bright and high. So i set them all straight across which caused deeper low sound and less string tension. then I added 2 more thinner springs with lower tension I got at the hardware store which gave my non floating trem a more firm feel while improving the same unaltered sound.

      i did the same thing as and wow what a smooth sound i would def recommend straight springs and 2 smaller on the mid

    Speaking for myself and those good players I know, we're not after a guitar upon which notes ring longer than a second or two, that's not how we play. Try it and measure how long you really hold notes in normal playing. What we call "good sustain" is really a slow rate of decay. What we want is the minimum rate of decay for as long as we are holding a note, usually a second or so, sometimes but rarely a bit longer.
    A slow rate of decay makes the struck note sound strong throughout and not fade away (to coin a phrase).
    The natural amp compression that is created when we push an amp a bit gives us the slow decay we like, although by then the amp is getting pretty loud.
    We can't always (hardly ever) play our amps a such a volume for very long before it begins to harm us and annoy everyone else, but we can also create slow decay by adding compression with a compressor (duh). This is commonly done in recording studios to thicken and to fill out the sound of various instruments including drums. That is often, amongst other things, why recordings sound so different (better) than live performances.
    Just saying.

    Huge Difference

    And I was hunting pickups tuners nuts etc to help tone oh it’s from the springs

    Honestly, I can barely hear the difference, let alone playing together with the whole band live. The audience wont even realize (and care) if you use one or not. But that's just me, subjectively.

    • @AnimilesYT
      @AnimilesYT 4 роки тому

      Also, UA-cam compresses the hell out of the sound. But even then your argument still holds. It always sounds different when listening to something live anyways, so nobody will realise it.

      Yes you nailed it , Put two springs on and tighten the claw way down and compare to 3 with the claw not as tight . ( The extra Tension on the strings makes a big difference , it's all about the tension )

    To my partocaster its almost impossible to set at least a minimal floting action with 3 springs, just on 2. Screws are almost on 90% outside. Do i need more "softer" springs? Strings are 10s.

    Springs affecting tone? Sounds like snake oil to me. Looks like the tiny little almost unnoticeable (real) diffence is due to string tension or the way you feel/play the guitar, if the pressure is different it should indeed affect the way you play but not the tone. I did not have time to do it but maybe comparing sound samples in a spectrum analyser would give us a better idea. But, still, I don't think it affects tone. Nice video anyways! Keep it up!

    • @OfficialPerfectoDeCastro
      @OfficialPerfectoDeCastro  5 років тому +2

      Thanks for watching! There are spectrum analysis graphs on their website. The gains of stuff like these springs/brass tremolo blocks/heavy saddles are really only apparent to the player, but it’s fun to see if anybody else notices it, too.
