For this time and place, and matching up against the United States, Serbia is the best European team, but matching up head-to-head, I am more inclined to pick the 2008 Spanish team. The '88 Soviet team with Sabonis, Volkov, Marciulionis, Tikhonenko, and Sokk and the silver medalist Yugoslavia with Petrovic, Divac, Radja, and young Kukoc may also have something to say in terms of competitiveness.
I m serbian and this is not true, this Usa team is highly overrated. We almost beat them but also Australia almost beat us with Kiddey Giddey and old Paty Mills. Average Spanish team won euro and world cup with out of prime Marc Gasol,Rudy,Rubio now imagine prime 2012 Spain Pau Gasol, Marc Gasol, Serge Ibaka, Jorge Garbajosa, Rudy Fernandez, Sergio Rodriguez, Juan Carlos Navaro, Jose Calderon, Sergio Llull, Ricky Rubio. Not just name of a players its about amazing team chemistry they have!
@@mauriceysmith7701 Yugoslavia 95 and 96 is best team ever they only lost vs best team in history Shaq Olajuwon Admiral. Not only Djordjevic is best shooter in FIBA history asnd hold every record from 3 points in every CUP, but Divac is better player than Jokic cause he is more athletic. Nikola learned pass from him and sabonis.
I forgot those first few FR Yugoslavia teams, I was biased for the Croats and followed them more closely, given whatever limited resources we had pre-Internet.
As a french guy, I bow to Serbia ! You did a hell of a tournament. You pushed USA to its limits and some stuffs in this fourth quarter stole your win. I admit that you were the best European team of the tournament and you deserved Gold. Big Love to you guys ! The real ballers know the truth.
I think the French national team has the biggest potential in the upcoming 5-10 years followed by Germany. (in Europe) The French are the closest to the athleticism of the US team. I mean you have Wemby, plus I saw some of your under 20 and under 18 folks. They look quite promising. The Germans have a very young and promising folks too.
Thanks brother ❤ Your national team future looks scary if all the young guys reach their potential. Serbia vs France for the gold in a couple of years i can bet 😄
@@PurpleGhost666 Serbia have beaten your US in semi finals. Was the better team. Reffs manipulated the hell out of that match. Keep sucking on that shootgun and leave sports to people who know something about it
@@PurpleGhost666So? In Basketball referee was Bosnian and was paid. You can clearly see usa team players stepping out of the playing area yet no call from the ref. And yet they call out some bs for us so usa wins.
As a french, I think Serbia was the best european team in the olympics. And to be honest, before the final I believed that against USA we had a chance (which has been the case, even if USA deserved the win), but if it was Serbia, we would have been destroyed especially with Jokic who is such an amazing player. Still proud of my team to beat Canada and Germany and to make us proud. I think Serbia will be the toughest challenge for Team USA in the years to come (and I want France to be part of that too 😅)
Well, with this freak of nature/alien Wam, and monster Leesort, France will be for sure serious contender in future. The only concern of mine is that NBA superstars, including Wam and Joke, probably will not be regular on national teams... I doubt we will see them on Eurobasket... We will for sure se Luka Dončić and Bogdan Bogdanović, and that is why we Serbs loves Bogi the most, but Joke, or Wam, or Gianis they are alwaays big question mark...
if serbia is forced to play paint france do have a chance, jokic always struggle with lack of 3 point shooters, and when you have hybrids like gobert and wemby on euro court it aint easy to score
Go back to highlights (or rather lowlights) posted on Eurosport channel. There you have one action where Dobric goes for the layup, is clearly fouled by the Australian defender and is not called for foul. Or the last bucket by Jokic when he got obviously hacked right before he made a shot. Yeah, refs helped Serbia...
I agree with this and I am from Greece. It’s a bit of a sacrilege to have this present day Serbia above that late 80s early 90s Yugoslavia. Only maybe Spain can compare a bit.
Spain 2019 World Cup winning team I think is the best. Then 2024 Serbia in the Olympics. I have no doubt they would have beaten France if they ended up getting matched up during the tournament.
He litterally doesnt have nothing to with their greatness. Every Serbian coach was good because team was good now team is great and Pesic is literally weakest link in chain.
After Obradvovic, Pesic is in my opinion the best coach ever. He won than the EuroBaskets 2001 and the World Championship with Yugoslavia 2002 2003 Euroleague and Triple Crown with Barca. If he had trained better teams he would have won at least 5 Euroleagues. 2023 silver with Serbia at the World Cup and 2024 olympic Bronze.
Pesic as a Yugoslavian with German passport is also the most legendary Basketball coach in Germany ever (ok it is now much closer because Herbert won our first World Cup in the final vs Pesic) but Pesic did much more for German Club Basketball. And he won our first title for Germany ever. Euros 1992. Without our star player Detlef Schrempf (2 times 6th player of the year in the NBA, first european with 15k points in the NBA, 3x All Star, 1x All NBA). But also without him Pesic lead us with wins vs Spain and Greece in QF and SF and a 71-70 in the final against the top favourite Russia. He helped also to build german club basketball worked from 1993 to 2000 for Alba Berlin. And from 2001-2002 for Cologne and later from 2012-2016 for Bayern Munich. He won 5 german league titles. And for the national team he worled between 1987-1993 and in 2012. So 22 years for German Basketball. He could easily trained more potential Euroleague winner than two.
I m from Argentina , I must congratulate Serbia , for mi was the best Team in Paris 2024 , and like Argentianian sometimes we have a competitive Team , I hope that we can Face against Serbia again but today we are some step far.
any basketball competition without Argentina causes nostalgia... what kind of matches were there between Yugoslavia (Serbia) and Argentina.🤩🤩 Come back
I will never forget WC final with Argentina ,we watched on town square on giant screen ,there were like 10 000 people watching ,we were jumping like crazy ,kicking each other and after game we got drunk like crazy only coming home at 7 AM
Ohhh m8, I am Serbian and 39 years old, I remmeber Argentina team was top 3 in the world 1994 to 2002, and still it is the GREAT one, for my child driven mind!!! DONT CRY FOR ME ARGENTINA
When I see Serbian teams play, it sometimes seems that the Serbian coaches have a Basketball IQ of 180, and Jokic is probably the first coach and playing at the same time, already in younger ages. Like Kidd and Nash did in their 30ies as PG.
Serbia have many coaches in FIBA hall of fame AND the greatest coach in basketball history Zeljko Obradovic. Still coaching. Serbia is together with USA today, yesterday and always, the only two basketball powerhouses.
@@Milan1988Z Yeah, without doubt. That team was way more talented than this one. They had everything - size, versatility, technical abilities and shooting.
So proud of this Serbia team. That Semi Final will forever be bittersweet, but the spirit and honor with which these men played will make them legends forever. The bronze that shined like gold 👏🏼
What is most amazing with Srbija is that they're good without having foreigners in their national team. Like Baltic countries they rely on themselves only.
This team still needs to win gold. I hope Jokić will play more often for Serbia after this, because it seems this group really bonded and created special chemistry. I know basketball has changed a lot and the level of European basketball is much much higher now, but Yugoslavia around 1990 was like a European dream team, also FR Yugoslavia 1995-2002 was almost unbeatable. And we also have the amazing Spain from 2006-2012
well considering that all of these players in us will retire soon and i don't see booker embid tatum and others being good lead in olympics for us i dont think future for us in olympics look good
@@Mitke420That‘s what I was thinking too. It seems like Steph bailed out his team in both semi-final and final games. Aside from some insane individual performances, the USA team played abysmal „team“ basketball.
Ne verujem da ce Jokic biti redovan u reprezentaciji. Covek ima nenormalno dugacke sezone u NBA, vidi mu se da je premoren i da je ovo izgurao na misice. Garant ce imati problem na pocetku sezone...
@@voguehaven5154WHO YOU LYING TO? Yugoslavia won maaaaany golds, for example, only Coach Pesic won in 2001. and 2002. and become European and World Champions. With all Serbian players. Stfu
Since 1994, Serbia has been the independent owner of basketball successes that were made under the name of Yugoslavia and SCG, during that period there were exceptional players: Paspalj, Divac, Danilović, Djordjevic, Savić, Rebraca, Bodiroga, Peja Stojaković... This team today is just a logical continuation of the basketball gems from Serbia
@@pomorackotorwe were together but there were just a few players from Montenegro and they also think of themselves as Serbs, like more than half of us do.
both ex turkish league fenerbahçe and efes players who won euroleague championships, where a Turkish team is missing, we Turks have heartfelt gratitude for serbian bronze medal. well done guduric, bogdanovic and micic. You're loved by your fellow Turks.
The names i gathered, are on the hall of famers in Turkish Basketball foreign contributors such as Petar Naumouski and David Rivers. I wouldnt include allen iverson as he only played for such brief period, without major impact.
This Team is and was to me the Number One Team in the olympic tournament. So much heart, such a great team effort. Every game after the group phase was one for the ages.
y’all lost so you don’t deserve anything. this participation award mindset yall have ain’t going to cut it. y’all deserve bronze because that’s what yall got. better luck next time.
They got whooped by the US thrice and only came close in one game when the US was playing with their food. They also had to win another game in overtime. Stop smoking bruh. The got the bronze they deserved.
As an American id still put the 2008 Spain team above this Serbian group, but man what beautiful basketball they played and the heart it takes to drag team USA to the bitter end and still rebound from that disappointment to beat Germany? Man what a special team, that Serbian coach is a genius
I would disagree because I feel this Dream Team is the better team even though the 2008 team had Kobe on it, this 2024 team has no weak links, ok maybe White but I wouldn’t still put him above all the weak links from 2008!
Spain was good at that time, really good. But serbia wins them with bigger heart and balls on the court. I would say that Yugoslavia '95 was also great... Lithuania at that time also. Greece had one reeealy good team. For me Yugoslavia 95 beats them all.
Svi za jednog.. jedan za svi is the motto of this team under Pesic ..All for one and one for all the team spirit and brotherhood in this team makes it what it is besides the basketball IQ and skills
Thank you very much on this video. Yes, we are proud on them. But let me just mention that Basketball is sport nr. 1 in Serbia. It is even more then sport here. We all like basketball, so we feel this players like our family members. Celebrating together, crying together. Now it's time to celebrate this bronze medal. Best regards from Belgrade.
I became a Bogi fan after seeing his performance in the Olympics! With Jovic coming up I think next Olympics Serbia will be the country to not underestimate. I just think Serbia and Serbia’s president made them look somewhat like sore losers after the loss with the US. Those were the same refs that called the game between Serbia & South Sudan. The refs also failed to make calls in favor for the US. And some South Sudan fans were convinced those same refs knew the Serbians. I think the simplest answer is usually true and that the refs were terrible at their jobs and shouldn’t ever be reused. That being said.. Serbia played for the Bronze with heart and pure skill and were definitely the better team by far! And from what I’ve seen kept improving during the Olympics. As an American if the US isn’t in a game I am rooting for Serbia.
Joke aside.... team Jugoslavia from 1990-91 is globally the best ever. .. people who saw their destruction of everybody else, know what i'm talking about. Divac, Kukoc, Petrovic, Radja, Djordjevic, Vrankovic, Bodiroga, Danilovic....
That's why it gets me Twisted when you see guys online saying that those guys were plumbers and shoemakers. People don't realize that they lived under dictatorships and it wasn't easy to leave the country to go play in the United States
By names, that was without a doubt the best team outside the US. But, that country doesn't exist anymore (thank God), so if we look only existing countries, there are Serbia and Lithuania '95, and Spaniards with Gasol brothers, JC Navarro, young Ricky Rubio, Jose Calderon and others. Even though I don't like them, it wouldn't be fair to forget Croatia '92.
@@Goxilla that Yugoslavia team is from prehistory, Spain's team would demolish them.. or do you seriously think that ancient semi-professional basketball styles from the 80/90s can defeat that team? Then you are the king of delusion
As a group, this might be the best Europe has ever had. There were teams with much more individual quality and depth (Yugoslavia with Stojakovic, Divac, Bodiroga, etc). What makes this team so special and strong is Jokic who is one of the best basketball players ever. Jokic is unguardable.

How can you even compare Basketball Teams who played in completely different Eras? So much is different 35-40 years later, we're hardly talking about the same sport. Even basketball from 10-15 years ago is SO different...
I'm from Serbia 🇷🇸 and we don't need patting on the back. We were better than USA by far and should have won gold. Referees were a sham to the sport, not just in Serbia vs USA, but throughout Olympics.
When you lose 3 straight games against a team your best argument is that the refs were unfair? If anything the refs benefited Serbia in the 3rd game win by USA.
@@jacobw8849His argument is backed by proof in videos with collected "errors". Such as Curry carrying the ball for several steps then bouncing then carrying again to get a free, uncontested 3pt shot. Embiid doing the same for a lay up. Lebron carrying under arm pushing through and bouncing when he feels like it etc. That along with your players being all juiced up(with no worldwide organization to control them) is what got you your so called win.

A lot of people here are apparently to young to remember Yugoslavia's late 90s and early 00s team. I'm 35 and I remember very well that team with Djordjevic, Danilovic, Rebraca, Bodiroga, Paspalj, Divac, Scepanovic... all at the same team ! Everyone knew only Dream Team was better, in European championships it was Gold every time. That was the best European team ever, with Spain's golden generation comming in second place. Serbia won Gold in Istanbul 2003 last time, I believe younger guys don't ever remember that, this team with Jokić and Bogdanović needs at least one gold to even come in those kind of conversations. Pozdrav svim Srbima iz Minhena
Last euro gold (Istanbul) was in 2001, that was a helluva team, i remember how scared everyone was of the Latvians and their 3s, we started the game shooting something like 12/15 for 3pt, Stojakovic had 7/8 if i remember correctly. We were beating everyone with using their game, such a dominant team. The WC in 2002 started catastrophically, but we turned it all around and beat not only USA but also maybe the greatest basketball team ever, Argentinians (Manu, Scola, Oberto), they were playing the most beautiful basketball i have ever seen, and we just fought trough on individual strength.
@@truthhearer6323 maybe you are too young to remember, or don't have the basketball knowledge to understand how good of a team they were. Not the best group of individuals, but the best team - definitely.

Hard to compare teams from different era but probably Yugoslavia 2001 - 2002. In my opinion much better talent distribution and on court team chemistry.
Nice analysis! I really always love your expertise For me it is the best European team ever And jokic is just a generational talent, hopefully he stays in good shape for next olympics
Serbia played a great tournament, and as a french supporter, i loved the serbian ball movement and i would reallly like to see a tiny bit of this in our offense.
The game vs usa and especially germany definitely show that Serbia will become a powerhouse in the years to come. The only problem is that all play centers around Nicola and that can be exploited. Spain 2012 is the best at the moment but this team is goin to surpass them
@@mariostheodorou9877 Not „will become“, Serbia already is a Powerhouse!!! The victory over germany: deserved, the Kiss against the USA a mess and tragic.
Jokic is the best and most intelligent player in the world right now. You may like it or not. This team of Serbia is in the rank of our best team from 1995 or ex-Yugoslavia team from 1991. It's just that these two teams have a lot of better players. I knew before the Olympics that we were the best team in Europe at the moment, but they didn't give us a chance. They play a lot better when they don't have high expectations.I wouldn't forget Spain, Germany, Greece and Lithuania. The Spaniards and Germans have created a system according to which they work, Serbs created, and you can see that the results are coming. It's just that there is a big difference in investing in younger categories in them and in our country. I appreciate the Lithuanians that they rely only on their players and have that old Soviet school of basketball. Their problem is that they rely too much on the shot. Basketball is played with the brain.
Serbia played so called "no middle" defence, developed in Texas Tech and Baylor universities. That is, when man on man was played. So that's why, for example, Schroeder was kept from the middle of the court. I think that defence was our main strength here. Especially by guards and forwards, like Dobrić, Avramović, Gudurić, Marinković. Stefan Jović was missing, but it didn't show.Pešić was saying frequently that from the good defence comes confidence and that defence starts with players on the perimeter. One of the main criteria for selecting player in national team was how many different positions he can guard. If it's three, he's in. If it's only one, he's out. In both offence and defence five on five play was favoured, as opposed to team USA who plays one on one or two on two.
No easy answer available. Today they are (for me!). Next year it may look very different. In addition, you have seen that each team relies on very different tactics. So it's not an easy question, but for today and in the context of the Olympics, yes they are.
I would dare to state this is the best European national team of their generation, or of those born 1994/95. +/- 5 years. If we go back, there is to much great teams, exactly Gassols era Spain team, 2000s Lithuania, previouse generation of Serbian players under Yugoslavian flag (those teams from 1990-2004, they were in essence Serbian team Yugoslavia then being just Serbia and Monte Negro), and really Yugoslavian teams pre-1990 (that was really mixed best of the best of Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia, Monte Negro etc...just imagine how it would look today with Dončić and Jokić in the same team, even 12 best NBA legends in their prime could do absolutely nothing...)
This Serbian team is pretty good, mostly due to Jokic. However, I can't forget Yugoslavia with Drazen, Kukoc, Radja, Divac, Danilovic, Djordjevic, Paspalj, Vrankovic, Komazec... Except for the dream team which they never had an opportunity to play against, as Yugoslavia fell apart just before 1992 Olympics, everyone else was losing by 20-40 points.
DID YOU SAW WELL HOW WAS JOKIC STOPED AMERICAN AND WORLD STAR KING JAMES AND HOW MR. JAMES WAS SOO UNABLE TO COVER JOKIC DURING HIS ATTACK TO MAKE NEW POINTS FOR SERBIA!!!!
- Yugoslavia 1995/96 - Yugoslavia 2001 - Lithuania 2003 - Greece 2006 - Spain 2008 - Germany 2023 Serbia's team in 2010 is so underrated but after semifinal game with Turkey it crumbled sadly.
Serbia won, of course! What an unnecessary interference with Yugoslavia! 80% of the players in that Yugoslavia were Serbs! The Serbian basketball school is the best in the world. Serbian coaches are great!
@@КаролинаТ-в4щ I'm not sure if you were alive or had complete post-natal growth during the '90s, but back in the day the national team participated under the label 'Yugoslavia'. Also, I didn't catch the emphasis of great Serbian basketball school or Serbian coaches regarding the best European teams ever POV ?
@@bogdanbackup they sure did, they kicked Yugoslavia during Sydney Olympics and finished 3rd I think. Also they were one 3pt away from winning against USA (Saras missed that one). And they took European Championship in ‘04
Yugoslavia 1989 was best imo, just insane talent and unbeaten for a long time, sadly in 90s it split and two core sides split in two croatia and serbia, united they were insane: Dražen Petrović, Toni Kukoč, Vlade Divac, Dino Rađa, Žarko Paspalj, Jure Zdovc, Zoran Čutura, Zoran Radović, Željko Obradović, Ivan Peko, Ivo Nakić, and Zdravko Radulović, with Dušan Ivković as the head coach.
Best tim Serbia is 1995: Vlade Divac, Zoran Savić, Predrag Danilović, Žarko Paspalj, Zoran Sretenović, Aleksandar Đorđević, Dejan Bodiroga, Dejan Tomašević, Miroslav Berić, Željko Rebrača i Dejan Koturović.
Ex Yugoslavian team from 89 to 91 was one of the best ever and also FR Yugoslavia in 2001 and 2002 was pretty good too. You need to include Spanish team as well. They won multiple European and World Championships. This Serbian team was bit unlucky in some tournaments like Euro or last World Cup. We are still waiting for that gold since 2001, and hopefully they will get it next year.
Former Yugosoavia in the 70s, 80s and 90s was stronger with players like Dalipagic, Cosic, Petrovic and Divac and the same applies to the former Soviet Union with Arvydas Sabonis among others
Serbia won, of course! What an unnecessary interference with Yugoslavia! 80% of the players in that Yugoslavia were Serbs! The Serbian basketball school is the best in the world. Serbian coaches are great!
I cannot put into words how proud we are as a nation of this team. The bronze medal feels just as good as gold this time around, since we all know how the semis went. Tuesday night is their offical reception and the city is going to go wild
Great analysis!! I love the way this team has been playing the last years, but this one with Jokic was simply amazing. Answering your question, is hard to say that they are THE BEST ever, but they are in the group of the best ones, of course. I'm from Spain so my first thoughts are predictable 😂, but in my life I have watched another examples of brilliance: those late 90s and first 2000 Serbia, that 2003 Lithuania, Eslovenia in 2017, Germany the last year (and this one they lost the medals, but played so well too)... And before I watch basketball are those other Yugoslavia and URSS teams, even Italy ones. So much talent and good basketball in our European history ❤. Been in that conversation is the proof that they have reached greatness.
Yes.. because we never had the best player in the world that dominant.. it would make a difference against any other European team and on top of it you have another 3 more NBA players with Bogdan who is the top notch shooter and Avramovic who is defensive player of Olympics! Just great combo..Gasol brothers were great but they are not Jokic.
There were some great teams in last 40 years like Yugoslavia 95-98, 01-02 or Lithuania 95-96 or Spain 08-12 but for me the best European team without any doubt is Yugoslavia 89-91! It was the white Dream-Team and the game that never happened at Olympics 92 against the Dream-Team from USA could be the best game ever played in FIBA competitions. I will regret for ever that those two teams never played against each others!
The best national team was led by Divac, Đorđević Obradović, Rebrača, Danilović, Bodiroga, later Stojakovic etc. US had MJ, and that is why we could not beat US. But now....
Spain in 2008. They lost by 11 points to the USA, but it was close most of the game. If not for Kobe taking over at the end who knows what happens. And the Redeem Team was stronger than the current USA team.
Imagine if Serbs, despite all their basketball might throughout the history as is, included the players with serbian genes from different generations like Drazen Petrovic, Goran Dragic, Luka Doncic, Rasho Nesterovic, Nikola Mirotic, Nikola Vucevic, Sasa Pavlovic, Sasha Vujacic, Nikola Pekovic and many others… It would have been the end of the story, dot, period… Thanks to politics, others in Europe were given a chance…
There´s no way this team is better than some of the Yugoslavia and Soviet team back in the XX century, or better than the spanish golden generation. Those 2008 and 2012 Olympic finals are, for me, the best FIBA games ever, and those USA Teams were for me quite superior to this 2024 USA. Also, I think that Spain would beat this Serbia team. Jokic for me is the greatest european player ever, but in FIBA you can argue that Pau Gasol was better or more dominant that him during his career looking at his achievements (overall, as players, there´s obviously no debate that Joker is better).
I think that Yugoslav team just before the break up of the country was the biggest European team ever. Drazen Petrovic, Kukoc, Radja, Divac, Paspalj, Zoran Savic, Djordjevic and Danilovic were coming, plus some solid addition by class players such are Zdovc, Radovic, Cutura, Cvjeticanin, Vrankovic, Komazec to support the main stars. Just looking at those names makes you wonder with chills how that team would look like in its peak. And it was lead by Duda Ivkovic who is arguably one of the greatest European basketball minds ever. I would never stop regretting that this team didn't go to Barcelona Olympics to face the Dream Team, that would be a match to watch and remember. They didn't have the best player in the world like today's Serbia have but they did have several players who made their mark even in the NBA when it was far more difficult for European players to make a breakthrough there.
Serbia won, of course! What an unnecessary interference with Yugoslavia! 80% of the players in that Yugoslavia were Serbs! The Serbian basketball school is the best in the world. Serbian coaches are great!
Yugoslavia 91 was the best. Ussr team with Sabonis 2nd, Spain team 2008 and Yugoslavia 1995, 2001,2002 spliting the 3rd. Litvania 95 4th place and because of Jokic this team lets say in top 5.

And WE will see in 2028
For this time and place, and matching up against the United States, Serbia is the best European team, but matching up head-to-head, I am more inclined to pick the 2008 Spanish team.

Shout outs and respect to Svetislav the Great Pesic the true master mind. Behind this amazing team
He litterally doesnt have nothing to with their greatness. Every Serbian coach was good because team was good now team is great and Pesic is literally weakest link in chain.
@@nikolahekler2713 you are so wrong and now that he is retired you will see why.
@@Stef-m8l Are you kidding me? You really think Pesic is best Serbian coach? Xaxxaxa cmon man.
After Obradvovic, Pesic is in my opinion the best coach ever. He won than the EuroBaskets 2001 and the World Championship with Yugoslavia 2002
2003 Euroleague and Triple Crown with Barca.

I dont know about the best ever, but we was definetly better than a dream team that needed refrees to win the semi-final game
They loss by 21 points. Serbia tanked and choked at the same time 🤣🤣🤣
@@jeremiahsams2848 I'm gona say that Serbia should have played a better finish but if USA was so superior then why they needed a ref to push them?
@@MarKo_SoLo All they did was beat your team twice by huge margin and won when it really counted. They were the superior team just deal with it
@@KyleWalkerGrandcircle Oh dont worry buddy i am dealing with it, knowing that we have the best player in the world and that USA cheated to win.
Did you see how Davis and Embiid stopped mvp joker and made him 0-6 in 3 point tries and under 50% shooting 2?
Big respect to you for choosing our Serbian team to describe. Greetings from Serbia
- Yugoslavia 1995/96

Serbia's team in 2010 is so underrated but after semifinal game with Turkey it crumbled sadly.
Ethnicity-wise you have a point - at least 80% of players were Serbs.
I've just listed the great teams that can be compared with the Serbia 2023 Olympics team from a competitive standpoint.
Also, I didn't catch the emphasis of great Serbian basketball school or Serbian coaches regarding the best European teams ever POV ?
Proud of our boys, they always leave their heart on the court!
Yugoslavia ‘89
Yugoslavia ‘96
Spain ‘08
Spain ‘12
Lithuania in the beginning of ‘00s
Lots of candidates, but maybe we can enlist Serbia ‘23-‘24 team
Yugoslavia both 1990 and 1991, Lithuania was good but nowhere near all these teams.
yugoslavia 2002?
You forgot Yugoslavia 2001... 0 losses and all +10 point wins except in the finals.
@@bogdanbackup they sure did, they kicked Yugoslavia during Sydney Olympics and finished 3rd I think. Also they were one 3pt away from winning against USA (Saras missed that one). And they took European Championship in ‘04
@@sevasthvostanski5588 yes, I forgot them
Yugoslavia 1989 was best imo, just insane talent and unbeaten for a long time, sadly in 90s it split and two core sides split in two croatia and serbia, united they were insane: Dražen Petrović, Toni Kukoč, Vlade Divac, Dino Rađa, Žarko Paspalj, Jure Zdovc, Zoran Čutura, Zoran Radović, Željko Obradović, Ivan Peko, Ivo Nakić, and Zdravko Radulović, with Dušan Ivković as the head coach.
Yugoslavia with Petrović, Kukoč, Divac, Djordjević...
My dad fought in the war for sebia he moved to canada became a docter and got a wife and now im here love serbia
Best tim Serbia is 1995: Vlade Divac, Zoran Savić, Predrag Danilović, Žarko Paspalj, Zoran Sretenović, Aleksandar Đorđević, Dejan Bodiroga, Dejan Tomašević, Miroslav Berić, Željko Rebrača i Dejan Koturović.
Coach: Dušan Ivković Assistant: Željko Obradović
@@MusicSaves89 pffff just the coaching staff commands respect
Without a doubt gold medal material our friends Serbians for the next tournament!!good luck guys🇬🇷 🇷🇸
Yes. Next question?
Ex Yugoslavian team from 89 to 91 was one of the best ever and also FR Yugoslavia in 2001 and 2002 was pretty good too. You need to include Spanish team as well. They won multiple European and World Championships. This Serbian team was bit unlucky in some tournaments like Euro or last World Cup. We are still waiting for that gold since 2001, and hopefully they will get it next year.
bosnian ref when playing against US, what a joke.
serbia deserved gold
Lets world be prepere for next Serbian basketball generetaion, Nikola Topić, Nikola Djurišić, Nikola Jović
Most beautiful basketball-team play was by Serbia in Olympics 2024.
imagine that 2 of US players costs like Nikola Jokic and all other Serbian players together!
By trophies Serbia is the best in Europe and 2nd best in the world, obviously we're not allowed to be the best
No you are not allowed shit. You have to earn it on the court.
I cannot put into words how proud we are as a nation of this team. The bronze medal feels just as good as gold this time around, since we all know how the semis went. Tuesday night is their offical reception and the city is going to go wild
and that's the best. Only ethnic Serbs play in the Serbian national team. That makes them even stronger!!!!!!!💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪
Does that mean non ethnic Serbs can't beat you? History says otherwise
Great analysis as always but I believe playing the video in slow mo is much more clean then this image sequence.
great job my golden BOYZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
There were some great teams in last 40 years like Yugoslavia 95-98, 01-02 or Lithuania 95-96 or Spain 08-12 but for me the best European team without any doubt is Yugoslavia 89-91! It was the white Dream-Team and the game that never happened at Olympics 92 against the Dream-Team from USA could be the best game ever played in FIBA competitions.
I will regret for ever that those two teams never played against each others!
All time best:
USA
Serbia
Spain
Lithuania
Greece
i would add there 80s USSR for defeating US in the olympics
@@anonimogarcia1976leaders of that ussr team were Lithuanians
With Jokic this is a super powerful team. Without him, it would be a great team capable of defeating most of the European teams but wouldn't dominate.
Without Curry, Usa team would not play in final...
with player like Jokic our Serbian team this year have another dimension againnst team from Manila 2023,Obviously.Jokicu kapa dole!
BasketNews, thank you for awesome work and your respect for Serbian basketball.
no, the former Yugoslavia is the best European team ever assembled, not even close!
Which one?
@@Aki-c9u the 1990 team
1995 Yugoslavia team (All Serbian players) was superior:
1. Dejan Bodiroga
2. Aleksandar Djordjevic
3. Predrag Danilovic
4.Vlade Divac
5. Zarko Paspalj
6. Sasa Obradovic
7. Zeljko Rebraca
8. Zoran Savic
9. Miroslav Beric
10. Dejan Tomasevic
11. Dejan Koturovic
12. Zoran Sretenovic

Yugoslavia 91 was the best. Ussr team with Sabonis 2nd, Spain team 2008 and Yugoslavia 1995, 2001,2002 spliting the 3rd. Litvania 95 4th place and because of Jokic this team lets say in top 5.
Yugoslavia 88-91
If we win gold in the next euros,i would put us just behind Spain of late 2000's. If we win more after the euros,i would put us just behind our Yugoslavia teams that won the World Cup in '98 and '02 and Euros in '01.
