Without " using ProgramName.Models" namespace in ValuesController.cs, anyone gets the error while adding to ValuesController tag. You missed to mention

No 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' header is present on the requested resource. Origin 'localhost:1193' is therefore not allowed access.

The controller name is ValuesController. how does the "localhost/api/Values" work? It should be "localhost/api/ValuesController" ?

+Steven Gerrard I believe controller is just used to for namespace. so what does the ValuesController control? values. So when you GET you are only calling values and ValuesController controls what values you GET
in WebConfig it states that you should append controller. So basically it is calling Values controller
