The best part of A9 in my opinion. Those washed-away landscapes in the French Roussillon and Spanish Empordà are very unique and pleasant to see. I've driven this route many times but never get tired of it, not even at night when you're in complete darkness and then you're suddenly greeted by dozens of windmill beacons. Driving this at dusk, with low traffic and listening to some epic music (thinking about Pink Floyd now) was motorway nirvana.
All A 9 is a fantastic piece of highway when you come from Northern Europe and pass the junction with A7 Autoroute du soleil and from theron you drive seaside on your left until the pyrenees appear in the haze....magical.
I was an international truck driver for 26 years and drove along that stretch of autoroute many many times. You made a statement early in the video saying trucks are not allowed on French autoroutes on Sunday. If it is a reefer carrying perishable food products, then they are allowed, but the temperature must be set at +1 degree.
Narbonne is where I stop about four times a year and rest on my way to the Costa Blanca.... ... There my pulse goes up, because the next morning I have a drive from only a few minutes to the Spanish border....
We’ve experienced the strong crosswinds you mention: one gust blew a truck into our lane just as I was about to overtake. Saved by strong brakes - and sphincters!
I'm surprised Bordeaux isn't on the signs at 0:26. Sure, Toulouse is bigger and closer but Bordeaux isn't small either, it isn't tremendously far away and the city's importance is pretty self-explanatory.
+DOT (Drive On Transportation) No, I'm from the Netherlands. But I took two long trips through France last year. A year ago my videos focused more on Scandinavia.
+European Roads vindt het zeer goed dat je de borden die boven de snelweg hangen van de afslagen nog eens langer op beeld zet want anders kan je ze onmogelijk lezen en ook de weetjes onderaan vindt ik leuk. Doe zo verder!
There is a hard shoulder throughout. The interrupted line is a special thing in France, indicating the recommended distance between two cars (normally two stripes)
Perhaps if more Btits had actually driven in/visited France then BREXIT would have never happened. Liberty, Fraternity and Equality! Love this road of Big sky.
A la gente normal no le gusta pedir permiso a un idiota de Estrasburgo para plantar un pepino en su huerto, o que le sancionen por coger una piedra del suelo.

Languedoc Roussillon is the best region with Midi Pyrénées and Provence Cote d'Azur in France

LOL! And they place the southern-most municipality of Spain on the distance board after the border. Cute!
Oui, c’est assez décourageant pour celui qui y va. 😅

La ville de Toulouse est plus grande. Mais leurs agglomérations ont le même nombre d'habitants : 1 million
Bordeaux is on the other side, on the Atlantic side of southern France.
Bellissima autostrada lo fatta tante volte x andare in spagna e Portogallo x anni andavo anche a millau. Les routiers son sympa
