Without a doubt we are living in the golden age where exceptional quality meets affordable prices in the world of guitar buying. Thanks for the demo 🤘🏻✌🏻
I purchased a black one a few months ago, and I'm amazed that it stays in tune better then my Gibson's and PRS guitars! I'm keeping this guitar just as it came , minus new strings.
That gold is gorgeous! I own a gloss black one, and when I saw the gold on Amazon I almost bought another one! I put on some inexpensive locking tuners, dressed the frets and replaced the bridge and strings on mine. It is now an excellent guitar, and I'm in to it less than $200.
I tend to smell guitars. My sense of smell is enhanced because of poor eyesight. Bruce Springsteen has also mentioned appreciating how they smelled, like remembering the smell of grass.
Don’t you love it that, all of a sudden, a lot of manufacturers are making decent, playable, inexpensive guitars that are actually worth owning? Now everybody can go Pete Townsend on their instrument for whatever reason! Yay!
@@CorkyK I have the orange tele, the red 335 and gold on the way. I stay away from off brands but FIREFLY is a whole different fish kettle. No idea how they do it.
@@bongocharm1332 Me either, but I'm totally cool with it. My unboxing video will be up in the next hour or so, search for "Firefly FF-338" later to find it, if you care to.
I have an FF LP style single cut that has the 'florentine' cutaway point, and is the same gold top finish. It has a bolt on neck and only binding on the top edge. I only paid $99 for it, so was not expecting much, and the neck was pretty much unusable with some high frets up the fretboard and a truss rod that had been abused and had a rounded out hex pocket. I replaced the neck for $42 and then also swapped out the PU's, bridge and tuners plus added a brass nut. I put a coil split on the neck PU with a micro switch in the PU surround and the bridge has roller saddles. All in all the money and time I spent has resulted in a really nice guitar with great tonal variety and accurate intonation. This sort of process is only practical for someone who has the skills and time to remake the instrument. It's kinda like buying a very clean car with nice paint and interior, but no drive train.
Or find a good luthier. I did the same with my Epi LP but had someone who was known to be skilled do it for me properly so in the event there was a problem I had a "go to" that was responsible and would fix it. Fortunately I found a good one and now my Epi LP that I spent $379 for sounds and plays better than a $3k Gibson at less than 1/3 the cost! SD Seth Lover pups, switchcraft selector and input, tone man 50's blues wiring and top quality pots, Stew Mac chrome roller bridge, TUSQ nut. Soft edge fret dressing.
I ordered a Chinese Semi-Hollow from Guitar Fetish, the XV-900 and had problems with several things, the nut was shimmed and this blew the intonation on chords fretted 1-5. That popped right off though, and the nut went right back into place. I reset the intonation with 10-52 strings, which was almost impossible without flipping saddles. I ended up getting Gibson 57 Classic pickups and Schalller tuners, and the all Maple construction coupled with 57s turned it into a beast. Then I ordered a full LRBaggs Piezo bridge pickup, Ctrl-X preamp and gave it acoustic sounds, replacing the Vol knob helped, and I got to learn semi-hollow wiring harnesses and how to fish them into the guitar. Then I added a Fiahman Tripleplay MIDI Pickup which is attached under the bridge so it has full on wireless synth sounds too. The guitar is still a POS, but it rips all sorts of sounds. The 9V battery got slid into the body, but wire tied to the pick guard, so it doesn’t flop around, damaging solder connections. Long story short, I keep it at arms reach at all times because it’s super useful for tracking pads, adding faux acoustic parts etc. I keep it drop C for those really low notes, use it all the time.
@Everything you want to sell it? I think I can put the fretboard back on it. I think you should contact Amazon for a refund or replacement. I have two, soon to be 3 and I have had zero issues.
I've Heard Kirk Hammet say, "I love very expensive guitars, and I love cheap, pieces of ****"! Thats how I look at it. Theres good and bad in every economic level with guitars. It all depends on the skill, effort, and quality that goes into building each and every one of them. This was a great review that I enjoyed to the end. Thanks. Be blessed.🙏😊
I have owned one, a Thinline tele model, since March and I love it. I ordered a walnut brown 338 that I will be getting on Tuesday and I'm looking forward to it. They are great to mod and for the home player who's just looking for a nice guitar to play, you can't beat them.
Just got mine yesterday. Ice Tea finish.... It's magnificent for the price. I paid more than this for my first Squier 20 years ago & it was rubbish by comparison.
What I like about these guitars is that they do not pretend to be anything they are not. They SAY Firefly and they ARE Firefly. Set it up, dress those frets, and put on the right strings. Then decide if you like the pickups. Once settled, you will LOVE the way it plays.
I have an early one of these, bought it over a year ago. Out of the box it was the worst unplayable POS imaginable. High E string broken, nut glued on crooked with slots excessively deep. Combined with a severe back bend in the neck, the low e was laying across the first few frets. Once I fixed the truss rod, luckily it works, and refit the nut temporarily, it was playable enough to find the bridge is misplaced and it won't intonate. Also has some high frets, with really sharp ends. Amazon offered $20 off, and because I wanted a project I took it. Used that on a Graphtec nut, and after searching for hours I found a roller bridge with slotted mounts. Flipped 3 saddled and moved it all the way back and now it intonates. Still needs a little work, but I got it playable enough to have some fun with it. I like the size - I have the Ibanez version that's a little smaller than a real 335. I also really like the bite in its tone, it sounds good, but also howls like crazy at higher watts. So the pickups aren't potted... more work to do. I wanted a project!
Oh, and with the new nut the tuners work a lot better, but they're still noticeably cheap so they'll go too. And they weren't all mounted straight. I can see a lot of ways they sell these so cheap!
I bought two of the Firefly thinline telecasters a few months ago, and I love them. Nothing wrong with them at all, and they are on the multi-stand next to my American-made Tele, and Gibson SG. Great guitars.
The big problem with budget hollow bodies is how difficult it is to swap out electronics if they suck. On a solid body guitar, it's much easier to do upgrades.
This is exactly why I am waiting to see when their solid bodies come out. There is word that they have LP Jr and special styles coming sometime, might be hard to not try one of those.
@@livefromadive6751 They're supposed to have a Double Cut with P90s and a LP Jr style this month. I own the 335 copy. It's very impressive. It's a great modification platform.
3 times they sold out before I got a sunburst, I'd rather have the gold too. I'd like to see you do the firefly 335 with the other cult, the Monoprice Stage Right 15 watt tube amp.. all said and done a tube amp, a 335 and a little work for under $400 shipped.
I watched another review for a 338 and it summed it up the same way.....a guitar that's better than it should be at this price point! So I went to see what was available for sale and ended up getting one off Ebay. Can't wait for it to be delivered, should be a fun thing!
Just picked up one of these. Gave 130.00 + ship. Came with Grover tuners and Gretch pickups. All I can say is wow! As the seller commented: "Believe the Hype".
Jimi Deez MINE CAME THE SAME WAY EXCEPT I GOT A CASE AND LEATHER STRAP AND A 37.22 DOLLAR REBATE. OH AND I GOT A 3PK OF ERNIE BALL SLINKY STRINGS AND A 10PK OF DUNLOP PICKS. STILL HAVEN'T MADE MY MIND UP TO KEEP IT OR SEND IT BACK. IAM THINKING ABOUT TOSSING A COIN --- JUST HAVEN'T FOUND A NICKEL LAYING AROUND THE LAST COUPLE OF DAYS.
Hey man, I really like this video and look forward to a proper review and demo. Never played a hollow or semi hollow electric, but I've recently been wanting to get one to see how I like it. This appears to be a great candidate for purchasing to experience a semi hollow, without paying a lot of money in case I don't like it. Thanks ! I'll be watching for new video on this guitar.
I've been wanting one for the same reason. Guitar MAX did a review of a previous run of these about a year and a half ago. That's where I first heard about them. They were already sold out by the time I saw that video, and this is only the second time I've seen them for sale again since then. I say jump on it if you can.
$140? WHAT? That's like £110!! That gold colour is really nice too man! Decent cable AND picks too! That's just absolutely crazy. The only real risk I see is that if you don't like the pickups, it's not that much changing them in a semi hollow. Great review!
Setup/intonation on the one we have at the house is really good. Even w. stock nut height, and the raised stop tail design. Pickups are whatever. It’s really the harness components here that suck. Mainly the contact for jack input. Signal comes in and out.
okay I just had to get the word from you I just ordered one, And it's got two humbuckers??? A set of nines on it???, I'll hang it on the wall right next to my Epiphone Les Paul SL,,,yup, same color as yours, I have to say I did get pissed at you when you throw it off the bridge but like they say that's a axe under the bridge LOL, LOL, LOL, okay thanks dude once again.
I might need to get one of these. The Matt(e) Black finish is absolutely amazing, though the semi-hollowbody might make it kind of hard to use as a mod platform, from what I've heard. Nevertheless, it could be worth $140
@Nathan Shervheim - Amazingly, the pickups on these are very good, and so are the pots, which are the tough bits to swap out. I replaced the bridge and tuners on mine, and I had no problem finding parts that dropped in with no drilling. Finally, the electronics are very quiet, so the grounding and wiring must be pretty good too.
If you do decide to mod the PUPs and harness, it is indeed more difficult to do on a semi-hollow compared to a guitar with an accessible control cavity. But it's just a greater challenge, not impossible. Considering the price point of this guitar, upgrading it with GFS parts would make sense. The KwikPlug harnesses make swapping easy with no soldering. I pulled off my first ever PUP swap on an Epiphone Dot a couple of years ago using that system and it was totally manageable.
@@patrickfitzgerald2861 Would you say that, if you were willing to put in a little effort, it would be worth it? I want a nice semi-hollowbody, but the aesthetics of the Epiphones are just terrible in my eyes. Would this be worth it?
@Nathan Shervheim - My answer would be that the risk is so small dollar-wise, why not try one? As I mentioned, the modifications I made were easy and cheap, and I now play the thing every day. FYI the guitar is much more like a 339 than a 335, and is almost exactly like a $400 Ibanez AS73.
Just got mine today. Both pickups seem loose. Is this normal or should they not rattle. Should I upgrade them or just send it back. I am on the fence right now. (Update) I just tightened the screws a couple turned and it got better. I set the intonation and this this plays pretty darn good. I am keeping it. I will probably upgrade the tuners and just play it.
6:07 When he realizes he paid way too much for the other guitars on his wall. 😎👍 8:16 running off to marry the guitar😂✌️👍 good review! 5:40 to 6:07 that sounds so cool what are u using to get that sound??? I want that effect!
Those pickups gotta go though. It sounds like you have a damp towel over the pickups. They are not usable in a live setting. But other than that, change the pickups and get a fret dress and your good to go.
They can hit that price point because the import factories have realized they can build and sell direct via Amazon/etc so all the layers of dealers/distributors/retailers doubling markups at each step is pulled away. So you get a $300 guitar for $150 'direct'. A $4,000 Gibson was sold to the dealer/distributor/retailer chain for $2,000...
I bought a Blue one, and sent it back. The frets were sharp, one pickup had a dent in it. It squealed on certain amp settings. I think I got a lemon. It is pretty cheap though. A good first guitar, I guess.
"I don't understand how....." Let's wait until you get to the components. Nut, tuners, fret work, binding, switches, pots, input. All those things add up! It mightsound great new but show us in a year after steady playing how good it still does or doesn't perform, first impressions of a new instrument aren't always accurate.
hey man, all your comments got flagged by youtube as 'possible spam', not sure whats going on because i didn't see anything in there that should have triggered that. Just thought id let you know in case your comments are disappearing else-were.
Good guitar to leave kicking around without worrying about it being damaged. Sounds fine, and through a couple pedals, would probably sound great. Good video, thanks.
Really considering pulling the trigger on this guitar, any updates on it? I've seen a couple of epiphones and Ibanez used in excellent condition for not much more. Would you choose the firefly over them?
I bought the Greenburst. It came Thursday. I was so disappointed that they sent me Iced Tea (it does look nice, though.) It came out of San Bernardino. The Green is coming from Ontario, Canada. Hoping I get to try it Tuesday.
Here is how the import market price/cost is determined. If the guitar has a "known" label the guitar retail is 4 times what it cost to manufacture it. A guitar such as Epiphone or Squier that retails for $399.00, the cost to make that guitar is $100.00. The company doubles their cost to $200.00 ( makes a 100% profit) sell the guitar to the retailer for $200.00 who marks it up 200%. (less a buck). $399.00. That would explain how this guitar could sell for $139.00 direct. These factories make a many brands under that same roof.
I totally forgot about these. I’ve seen others go over these. Kinda makes me want to plunge too. Looking forward to see what you do to it or how you feel about it after having it for a minute.
im going to spend some real time with it and make a lot of notes and do a full review. Im gradually catching all kinds of little quality control issues in the finish, there is random gold sparkle floating in the clear coat on the back and neck and there are place where they buffed through the finish a little bit and things like that. but im pretty impresed with how playable it is at $140.
60 Cycle Have 8 firefly hollow bodies. I just got the gold top yesterday. Have the same slight finish issues as you. The walnut that came today is absolutely perfect. The blonde/natural came today also. Broken high E on delivery. Other than that is beautiful also.
Neck pickup sounds wooly to me. Can you explore that? Tone rolled off? I use the neck pickup a lot on my SH guitars, so I can't abide a wooly neck pickup. I had an Ibanez AS-120 with the stock Super 58s -- the neck was unusable to me. Ended up replacing both pickups with Harmonic Design Z-90 (best pickup ever, IMHO).
Thanks for clarification on the binding issue. Is the binding actually “fake”? If the pups sound good, like you said, tgen how much of a problem is it to wax pot them! Not a huge deal. Thanks for the reply
9:09 IMOO this guitar is probably the perfect gift for a brother in-law or a half brother from your dads other family. I guess when it rains it pours. I've never heard of these guitars and then I hear about them randomly which leads to subscribing to a bunch of guitar channels I never realized were awesome, and now I have one (black) in my amazon cart. The consensus seems to be that no one knows how they get the price down to 140USD but then again it's a cheap guitar. I'm probably not going to pull the trigger on it. I always like to ask my self what else could I do with the same amount of money... I could buy a solid DiY strat kit from thefretwire and definitely no regrets guaranteed. In the end it all comes down to a 80/20 blend of guitar player and guitar.
Robert M I'm sure you guessed that these guitars are made in China. I never heard of Firefly until a couple of months ago. The Chinese are doing what the Japanese did in America with sports equipment back in the 70's. Since Chinese labor is cheap, they can afford to make these guitars in bulk and ship thousands of them to USA. Just as the Japanese did, they will flood the market with cheap stuff of decent (not great or superb quality by any means) and then gradually push up the price when demand goes nuts. But if you're a parent just getting by and want to buy a decent, not great, guitar for his son or daughter, this might be perfect as a beginner guitar. Also, if their son/daughter quit playing, a huge amount of money hasn't been wasted. Also good for churches, charity orgs, etc. There was a time in the 80's when Hyundai cars were dirt cheap.
Got mine a few months ago, it's a pretty good guitar except I have this weird inconsistent fret buzzing that seems to come from the bridge. I've never heard of a problem like that before but it for sure is happening on mine. Plugged in you don't really hear it. Only when I'm playing acoustically
I got a bit of that. If you raise the action a tad it can help. Have you changed the strings? I put some high quality 11s on and that helped a lot too.
I picked up a lefty in red. Fit and finish was great except they installed right handed knobs on my lefty. Got a set of proper lefty knobs and the shaft pulled out of one pot. The bridge rattled and hit the trash can almost immediately. Tuner are sloppy. In my case it is still a wonderful instrument. So, throw an additional "C" note at it after purchase and you have something fun to play. All-in-all, I like mine. Can't say I love it but want to. Time will tell. Great video and I look forward to a follow up.
@@60CycleHumcast your talking them up and you can't find them now,,,I tried finding them yesterday no such luck,,,Hell I want one now,,,you see 🤣🤣🤣👍👍🇺🇸
Firefly for poor people, I'm happy for it and I'm with it all the way, because I can't afford mainstream name brand guitars, they have my vote and support!!!
I love it when I see someone get their first Firefly guitar. You have that wtf? Where have you been all my life? It sounds beautiful. Probably not the cable, might be the output jack. Even so, I'm not going to give you mine. Lol
This thing sounds great. Am interested in seeing a follow up. On the nut, fret etc, isn't it pretty much accepted that guitars benefit from a setup from a qualified tech? I just got back an Epiphone LP Standard, which I really cherish and it plays so much better after proper setup.
Spot on, it's like and day, the difference. What someone who doesn't play regularly doesn't get to see is how much all those little tweaks collectively matter to the sound and performance of your guitar. I have an EPI LP Standard PRO and the setup cured a lot of small issues and I use it 3x more than almost my other guitars (7) because of the sound quality and it's really comfortable to play now. Fret dressing alone is worth the price :)!
I found out about these last time around from GuitarMAX but they sold out before I watched the video. This time I got an Ice Tea Burst, due to be delivered Monday.
Shawn Hinzman No, I bought mine early last week and selected the “No Hurry” delivery. There were enough then that no quantity warning appeared. I saw that gorgeous dark brown sell out yesterday though.
Harley Benton, Cherrystone et al have a version of these, reputedly manufactured in the same factory as Epi Dot & Epi Sheraton. Odd thing is that whilst the Epis have better hardware, the other "off" brands are sometimes better finished. F holes on Epi Dots look as if they are done by 10yr old with magic marker, on the Harley Benton they are perfect. Go figure!
I bought this exact gold top guitar and have been very happy with it. My frets were just great. No rough edges at all. The pick ups are excellent. They seem just as good as a Les Paul American Studio I played for years. Like you, I don't know how they do it. My fingers got some dark stain on them from the fret board, but I used mineral oil and just rubbed the fret board down until it was fine. I also replaced the strings with my favorites (Elixirs). I have a Jazzmaster and never thought I would spring for a nice ES-335 style humbucking guitar but now I have one!
140 dollar guitar is not bad. at least you don't have to worry about someone walking off with your cheap guitar.> Today's catch on Amazon is a Grote semi hollow body for 199.00

I went through this with SX guitars. It's great to find one that plays nice and stays in tune at all, but in the end you end up spending money on pickups pots set up fret work tuners. is it worth it? It taught me how to work on guitars. I ended up buying a Gibson Les Paul and I play it more than any other guitar that I own. I still play my cheapos but the Gibson is the one I use.
Looks like you're first posting on the new 338 versions. It arrived in good condition and seemed to play well with no adjustment. Sounds were good also. After you tweak it to your preference it will be even better. My 335 came in horrible condition and needed a lot of care. Now I love how it feels and plays.
Price can be that low because China works different than we do. They can build cheaper but the government is also part owner of everything. They are subsidizing exports to open up markets they can dominate. Sometimes the bad part of to a good to be true deal is a long term game
Can't see the details from here, but wow. That's a damned good-looking guitar. I don't even 'love' gold, and definitely don't love sparkle/metallic flake, but that thing is *tasteful.* Love the top finish versus the wood sides. Pret-ty. If i ever have the coin for a 'real' 335, i might just look for one that looks like this firefly.
You think it could pull off some "Sticky Fingers" eta Stones sounds off convincingly? I'm playing a Stones tribute show in my town in the next few months, and I could really use something with a bridge humbucker.
Its a great guitar! Although the bridge was set a mile high. UnLike any cheaper guitar, it has a fantastic body and neck. Tuning pegs are actually ok. Pickups are muddy. Also 2019+ body is an ibanez rip of a rip. It looks better then the 335 personally. Through neck and, well shit, its just great. I thought about buying new pickups, but, shit... I like dirty.... damnit
not to bash anyone - but on jan 1.2019 spent whole day at GC - played every top shelf guitar well above 1k - left with only a 500 ibanez af-55 tobacco flat perfect!!!! but my fav lead guitar is a 149.oo washburn sonamaster.... id buy 2 more - but got my eyes on new gibson special T.V.yellow !!!!!! finally gibson did something right and my price range !!!!!!
I did the same thing when trying to differentiate between and American made Strat and a Squier Standard strat. I plugged both of them into the same Fender amps and spent considerable time with both of them. They both sounded the same. THEY BOTH SOUNDED THE SAME! There was a difference in the feel of the neck. The Squier had a satin finish, the MIA had a gloss finish. It's only worth buying the MIA if you plan on selling it later. It will retain its price better. Even MIM depreciated by 50%. I also have a very nice MIM strat. I never play it. I bought the Squier and upgraded all of the hardware, wiring, pickups and it plays great. I installed Seymour Duncan pickups. I prefer the satin finish, so my Squier standard is perfect. Since both guitars sounded the same before, I'm defending my Squier sounding better than the American strat now. I started playing guitar in 1975. My first guitar was an SG and then a Les Paul. I'm sticking with strats from now on and the upper end Squiers are just fine.
I've said it before, the guitar community is spoiled now. Gold would be last among HC, VSB or Blk but amazing its here. IBZ AS73 here, yes, VSB, over 10 years old. btw, i had a MIK G-400 from '95 that my family knew i was playing because it smelled so good. Dead spots in the body and finances and i sold it. MIC replacement i love but still miss the '95.

I suspect The Edge holds the same position.
Then kirk proceeds to spend 2 million on greenie and play it almost exclusively
I have owned one, a Thinline tele model, since March and I love it. I ordered a walnut brown 338 that I will be getting on Tuesday and I'm looking forward to it. They are great to mod and for the home player who's just looking for a nice guitar to play, you can't beat them.
Just got mine yesterday. Ice Tea finish.... It's magnificent for the price. I paid more than this for my first Squier 20 years ago & it was rubbish by comparison.
I'm impressed also for that price. It's beautiful and sounds good.
They only get better. Fret dressing on follow up models make them even more amazing.
3 times they sold out before I got a sunburst, I'd rather have the gold too. I'd like to see you do the firefly 335 with the other cult, the Monoprice Stage Right 15 watt tube amp.. all said and done a tube amp, a 335 and a little work for under $400 shipped.
Ya know... Monoprice has semihollow guitars too right? More expensive than this (about $240 I believe), but I've not seen anyone review those yet.
They can be purchased from home page or China Direct. I ordered a Black ES335 Studio NO F HOLES in 2018 December, only $200.00 Free Shipping.
JAZZHOBO from the brand firefly? Or another brand?
Never heard of Firefly guitars. Wow looks great and sounds really good.
As the seller commented: "Believe the Hype".
sounds like you lucked out with some upgrades!
Thanks for the vid. Just ordered one in the “Matt” black.
the matt black ones look good.
You tune a guitar as fast as you open a box. Wow. Just, ...wow.
@@patrickfitzgerald2861 what tuners did you pick up?
It really does look pretty nice and sounds better than I expected as well, $139 and change... that’s crazy?! Just checked, still available on Amazon.
@@60CycleHumcast Ok? Appreciate it but I'm not sure as to why?
William Scarbrough yeah me either, had to clear a few more from you a bit ago.
@@60CycleHumcast No problem, I didn't think I said anything overtly demeaning to anyone but perhaps someone has an axe to grind?
Good guitar to leave kicking around without worrying about it being damaged. Sounds fine, and through a couple pedals, would probably sound great. Good video, thanks.
Really considering pulling the trigger on this guitar, any updates on it? I've seen a couple of epiphones and Ibanez used in excellent condition for not much more. Would you choose the firefly over them?
Ray Nunez the pickups are microphonic. If you can get an epiphone or Ibanez for the same money it would be a better buy.
I bought the Greenburst. It came Thursday. I was so disappointed that they sent me Iced Tea (it does look nice, though.) It came out of San Bernardino. The Green is coming from Ontario, Canada. Hoping I get to try it Tuesday.
Greenburst looks great and plays nice. It came missing a knob, a broken string. They gave me a $5 refund to get a knob. They tried.
Seems like a good deal so far eh? Curious to see your next vid on this. Cheers Ryan!!
Love mine. Now im waiting for the double cuts to be released.
Here is how the import market price/cost is determined. If the guitar has a "known" label the guitar retail is 4 times what it cost
to manufacture it.
Mitch Arney so you’re saying it cost $35 to make this guitar?
Have you found a nice hard case for it? Many people have gave their opinions on that too but I trust yours.
The Dressed Frets on My 335 WAS PERFECT. BETTER THAN MY EPIPHONE BLACK BEAUTY
I tried getting one of these for doing a similar video. They sent me a lefty, and were sold out by the time it arrived. Haven't gone back since.
And they're gone from Amazon...(at least on the shopping app)
You can hear the cable while gigging? C'mon dude. You GOT a cable. My Fender Am provided a cheap Radio Shack 3' cable. 3'!!!
what exactly are you mad about? it came with a cheap cable that made noise, what do you want from me?
Well it passed the Sniff test. Wood and glue.. imagine that..
Love mine. This run, I ordered a natural.
Me too, I got a red one last batch.
Thanks they will raise the price now👍👍🇺🇸
why is that?
@@60CycleHumcast your talking them up and you can't find them now,,,I tried finding them yesterday no such
luck,,,Hell I want one now,,,you see 🤣🤣🤣👍👍🇺🇸
Firefly for poor people, I'm happy for it and I'm with it all the way, because I can't afford mainstream name brand guitars, they have my vote and support!!!
I love it when I see someone get their first Firefly guitar. You have that wtf? Where have you been all my life? It sounds beautiful. Probably not the cable, might be the output jack. Even so, I'm not going to give you mine. Lol
I don't play guitar, but my son needs a Firefly!
I’m waiting for the thinline Tele style to come back in stock but a double cut sounds interesting too.
In stock today!
140 dollar guitar is not bad. at least you don't have to worry about someone walking off with your cheap guitar.>
Today's catch on Amazon is a Grote semi hollow body for 199.00
Ordered mine in Gold top the day they were available on amazon may 23rd. You must have paid for the express shipping to have gotten it on the 25th!!?? Mine should be delivered Monday June 3rd (standard free $hipping😉) I can't wait....may just do my own unboxing video.
ive got amazon prime
Ah yes....prime.....I could have used my wife's prime account but its sometimes better to ask forgiveness than permission.......but still you got free delivery and you got it in 2 days!!!?? Wow I am impressed.
Do I see a Gibson Firebird in your background collection on the right next to the black Stratocaster with black pickguard
Very Nice review! I don't have enough money for a "recognized" brand ando this is pretty well! And anyone knows wich guitar is the Explorer in the background?
Nice review. Thank you.
Sometimes you get more than what you paid for.. So that just kind of balances out for all the crap you overpaid for :)
If you are thinking about upgrading the guitar you should Put some mojo pickups or something in the goldfoil style
thanks for getting one of these wonderful guitars i have 2 338 red and black and a ffth telecaster semi hollow and i was quite impressed i love all 3 of my firefly's awesome for modding but i have taken my black 338 on stage and it loves to rock .it was first introduced to me by guitar max and i bought one because of his review. i am glad you have one welcome to the club .
It’s possible that they’re selling them at little to no gain to get into the market. Or knowing Amazon maybe they just didn’t pay their workers.
As soon as the make a western style arch top with a flyod rose tremolo I’m buying.
How are they hitting that price? I would absolutely buy a semi hollow for $140, I would get one even at $200! That's insane!
The guitar definitely sits in the "looks really good from six feet" category. - steve
Great video, thank you for posting it.
I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW COME WE IN CANADA WE CAN'T GET THE FIREFLY?
IT'S NOT FAIR AT ALL!
I think longevity is the question here. How well will it withstand the test of time.
You think it could pull off some "Sticky Fingers" eta Stones sounds off convincingly? I'm playing a Stones tribute show in my town in the next few months, and I could really use something with a bridge humbucker.
Bill Cupp it has a pretty normal humbucker sound, so probably
I want either the gold or the natural or the flat black I can’t decide
I had 3 delivered yesterday Gold, Brown and the Matte Black.
Are you going to do show and tell on them ?
Its a great guitar! Although the bridge was set a mile high. UnLike any cheaper guitar, it has a fantastic body and neck. Tuning pegs are actually ok. Pickups are muddy. Also 2019+ body is an ibanez rip of a rip. It looks better then the 335 personally. Through neck and, well shit, its just great. I thought about buying new pickups, but, shit... I like dirty.... damnit
Thanks for this thorough review! Where did you find the gold top model? Can't find it on Amazon
it sold out! apparently these guitars sell out quick because lots of people buy them up and flip them on ebay later.
Great video bro keep it up👍🏽
Go low end Ibanez for a starter! I would just replace almost everything on this.
not to bash anyone - but on jan 1.2019 spent whole day at GC - played every top shelf guitar well above 1k - left with only a 500 ibanez af-55 tobacco flat perfect!!!! but my fav lead guitar is a 149.oo washburn sonamaster.... id buy 2 more - but got my eyes on new gibson special T.V.yellow !!!!!! finally gibson did something right and my price range !!!!!!
Hi Ryan! Love your videos, especially the ones on drip pedals. \m/
