I’ll be talking more about this, with price breakdowns, and other poor practices by them.
I feel it should be illegal to be a distribution center AND have a marketplace selling the items you're selling at wholesale. How is this not considered fraud?
The only thing you’re really getting as a discount is not paying sales tax, but you’re getting hosed in shipping, and you have to collect sales tax, which I elected to pay monthly.
It’s a complete conflict of interest that’s why they hold it until they discount it.
There is no way a supplier should be selling product for less. Small stores need to just unsubscribe and not do business with unscrupulous companies like this. When the supplier and brick and mortar create so much clearance devaluation that's a huge problem, unchecked. The business model is very F'd. Best wishes in your future endeavors.

Not being able to cancel without paying an exhorted fee is the main issue. The Super 7 figures were greatly advertised, and orders placed, well before we knew they would flop. I’m going to reach out to my old rep today, and see if he can help me cancel these orders.

Unless you’re carrying the product for the sole purpose of just having it available, along with other product you can actually make money on, it’s definitely not worth it. I’ll only be dealing with EED for a short time longer.
Dude when you start breaking down the cost of the Super 7 figures, you're not even counting the eBay fee or any selling platform fee for that matter which is typically around 15%, also customers are conditioned to pay free shipping on new releases thanks to Amazon. So if you're making 7 to $10 on a $55 figure, You're in the negative if you count those, right from the get-go if everything goes well. Why would anybody want to work for free? Or work selling at a loss? It's just stupid. I never buy wholesale but often I source discount stores and many more places for past season merchandise. It frustrates me to no end, every time I find something that is profitable in my mind, that somebody has already listed it on eBay at a price so low, that They are taking a loss and nobody else can beat their price. It's just moronic. I think it's new sellers who don't know how to do math, and when they don't see the sale happening fast enough, They panic and just keep lowering the price, ruining it for everybody
Selling online is definitely at a loss. In person, storefront, and toy shows, is the only way to barely break even. That's if you don't have to mark it down to make the sale. To expand on your point about new sellers panicking, I think those sellers probably purchased inventory on credit, payments are due, and they aren't making the revenue to compensate for that. I've heard rumors that's what happened with Megalopolis, and Dorkside.

I signed up with EE at the end of 2022.. They recently requested updated CC info I updated then found out that my account was deactivated due to inactivity. As of yesterday I was in motion to have my account reinstated. I'll take your whole hearted testimonial as a saving grace and no deal with them anymore. That's crazy that they take sooo long to get you product but will charge you out the wazzooooo to cancel an order? Why would that even matter if there is no update?

I had same issues with EE, my favorite was when they would do a price change and wont let you cancel.
Right. You agreed to buy at a certain price, but also agreed to the “subject to change” bullshit.
Yeah... I've only opened my online shop a couple months ago, and shit... I'm feeling the hurt from EE already. I'm canceling pre-orders and looking elsewhere. It's rough, brother..

Never deal with Entertainment Earth. I'm glad you brought this up. Megalopolis was an an amazing brick and mortar store. They got fucked over hard by EE. I'm pissed that that happened. Megalopolis was a one of a kind store. I don't see how any independent store could survive relying on Entertainment Earth long term. Total scammer distributors as a fact.

My friend is also a toy distributor. Amd he says similar things. In tje last few years, Hasbro and Mattel has been getting worse and worse. No timing regiment respected anymore
I think that we have moved into a place with production, where retailers are making their money from online preorders, then liquidating whatever physical product they get in inventory. Too much product is being produced.
Man, I’m not even half way through this and I’m fired up. I’m the co owner of Hella Dope Toys and we FEEL YOUR PAIN! EE is incredibly frustrating to the point where we have switched as much as we can to Diamond. Buying from NECA and Independent companies is WAY better, BUT, everyone wants their Hasbro and Mattel stuff or they won’t look at us, so we have to take the hit to get people to the site.
The Jamiroquai figure is the one that’s upset me the most. Retail: $99.99 - Wholesale $92.99. What am I supposed to do with that?
Early calls are also a joke. We buy and they cancel most of it on us causing us to have to refund preorders. What’s the point of the call?

@@TheIslandViper There’s pros and cons. They’re usually cheaper. But also more time consuming to get approved to buy from. I still can’t figure out their site, but my partner handles all of that.
EE is the absolute fn worst.. I cancelled ALL my preorders with them a couple weeks ago.

I haven't used them. The service I get now is actually fantastic. They're slow to ship stuff out to retailers, but I've changed what I order to work with that.
yeah unfortunately this is the norm. EE has been systematically eliminating online retailers for years.
It’s gotten bad enough to the point where it’s a blatant ripoff. Wasn’t nearly this bad when I started.

Keep them boxed for the next 30 - 40 years then you can make a profit! They all offer pre orders to everyone before retailers even have a chance. They are all in business to make sales and unfortunately you're their competition. 😢

Like right now. I ordered the 60th anniversary figures on a phone call for the “secret” calling list. At least a month before they were announced…. Still no movement on the orders. Watch.. Amazon will mark them down before I get them.
I'm sorry to hear you're screwed like this. I only buy classified figures from you online. But i understand nobody should lose money. I don't see how they can have a monopoly on distribution. Them controlling the market isn't right at all.

Agreed. I’ll be transitioning to just buying and reselling collections from here on out. Once my orders are all fulfilled, I likely won’t be buying from them anymore.
