I’d like to imagine that Kranix would end up turning against Unicron after meeting the Autobots, much like how the Surfer did after he ended up on Earth. And when Unicron is defeated, Kranix becomes Cybertron’s new moon while Lithonians form an alliance with the Autobots so they can defend each other’s homes.
I remember his Digimon Encyclopedia from about 20 years ago and it’s super detailed with entries on pretty much every named character, no matter how brief their appearance, he could find info on and I think there was even one on the cartoon Angela Anaconda, because Fox packaged an Angela Anaconda short with Digimon the Movie.

So one version of Kranix ended up as a food seeking herald of the world devouring cosmic entity? Norrin Radd probably raised a silver plated eyebrow at THAT one! :)
And the Matrix is similar to the Ultimate Nullifier in that both are the only known devices capable of destroying their universe's planet eater. Galactus has the Nullifier on his ship, and "Call of the Primitives" implies (intentionally on behalf of the writers or not) that the origins of The Matrix and Unicron are connected. Unicron also has heralds (although not referred to by that term) in The Movie in the form of Galvatron, Scourge & the Sweeps, Cyclonus & his armada (that strangely disappears immediately after being introduced and is never mentioned again). They search for The Matrix rather than for sustenance, but still a similar idea.

In which scene, the Quintessa scene? He's not named in dialogue, but is in the storyboard; but that's him being executed as Hot Rod and Kup are led into the fortress, before they're thrown into the cell next to Kranix.

And he has a neat design with his four arms and green colors! If there are not enough bots with the name Dispenser, perhaps you could just do vending machine bots live you did for Transit, and you could include Oreo Bot from the fourth live action movie! Thanks to anyone who read all this.
I do remember Kranix, I have seen the info logs in Transformers: Devastation, and it was an interesting piece of lore that connects with the continuity of the original 1984 Generation 1 cartoon, it is quite interesting to know that Unicron was part of the story. Funny, is that the very colony, Lithone, one of the many uninhabited worlds cyberformed by the crew of the Proudstar and where Kranix made his home, eventually was destroyed by the very demon that followed Nova Prime. Had Unicron been victorious, he would have not only destroyed Primus, but also Cybertron, as well as the Earth and the rest of the Cybertronian colonies, including Velocitron, the Jungle Planet and Caminus.
Hi Chris, Great video about Transformers: The Basics on Kranix, keep them coming, Also your latest video was outstanding, Also Kranix was not only a Lithonian from the planet Lithone, but also a bot from the world that was the planet-eater's first victim, when he made his debut in 1986's " Transformers: The Movie"! I was born in '86, so I first seen the Transformers movie on TV. One of the highlights of my childhood and still one of my favourite movies. Although, it seems weird in a film made to introduce new toys that they kill off a new character instead of keeping him alive and making him into a toy...
That would be interesting to see, with Kranix in the Studio Series '86 line. Optimus is the next, and IF Megatron were to be released under Studio Series '86, his alt mode's gonna have to be changed.
I think in The Transformers the Movie that whoever the being was that got executed before Kranix was definitely not Arblus. I'm pretty sure Arblus was the guy with the mustache and his ship got sucked into Unicron's mouth and crunched to bits as he cried out to Kranix. Seems the one that was executed first was just some poor nameless fodder that happened to be on the ship with Kranix. Much like the generic Transformers that got melted in Unicron's acid/lava/whatever vat.... that's how I've always seen it anyway. Great content as always Chris!
I think Dead End has had enough iterations to warrant a Basics video. There’s the Beast Wars version and Unicron’s Mini-Con. It could also be used to show more examples of reusing character names at random. I love your work and I hope there are many more Basics episodes in the future!
Before the imperial magistrate reaches the verdict do you wish to beg for your life? It sometimes helps but not often.... Spare me this mockery off justice
Well, I knew about the scrapped alt mode idea, but I didn't realize they were originally going to rip off those rock transformers from Go-Bots in the movie. And if Hasbro bought the rights to Go-Bots - as they would have had to, in order to do things like make Leader One into Megatron's minicon in Armada - why haven't we seen even a hint of a possible reboot of THAT franchise? Or a cartoon adaptation of the line that started it all: Diaclone? Because that was reimagined into more of a Transformers meets Mechwarriors/Battletech kind of thing, & I am definitely interested in THAT.
Hasbro didn't just buy GoBots, they bought Tonka itself. The reason Hasbro barely does anything with Gobots? The toys that made up the GoBots are owned by Bandai.
@@twistedgaming9185 Well, is there anything that says they couldn't make new versions of the 'Bots for a new show? I mean, how many people - who aren't us - know Go-Bots even existed? Even many Transformers fans are only aware of the Michael Bay monstrosities or the Paramount+ series "EarthSpark" - at least of the Millennial, Zoomer, & Alpha generations. So, it's not like they couldn't do that here. Hell. Transformers is well-known for making new models for existing names of their own properties. Even when they're making cartoons of them, like how the 2001 "Robots in Disguise" series made OP a fire truck instead of a semi. Most of THIS guy's videos tell you THAT much. Why couldn't they do it with the Go-Bots? I mean, they've already done it once with the recolors of Cosmos & some of the other smaller figures. Just retcon it - again - to bring it into 2024 & be done with it.
I have never thought that Arblus survived the destruction of Lithone and travelled to Quintessa with Kranix. I was under the impression that Arblus was the occupant of the ship that screamed "Kranix! Nyeaaargh!" and was sucked back in and chewed up, and that Kranix made it to Quintessa alone.
Lot of folk are! I think it's because he dies (under different circumstances) in the prologue in both the script and comic adaptation, so a long time ago (before home video copies of the movie had the picture clarity of DVD and Blu-ray, to help identify him in the Quint scene!), older fans applied that memory to the finished film, and it's sort of persisted ever since.
there is one detail about Kranix that a lot of people dont know about. his famous iconic line "spare me this mockery of justice!" actually comes from the original Novel of Snow White as she speaks this line when the Huntsman was ordered to kill her in the forest and he had a change of heart.

If there are not enough bots with the name Dispenser, perhaps you could just do vending machine bots live you did for Transit, and you could include Oreo Bot from the fourth live action movie!
Thanks to anyone who read all this.
Great Stuff, as always! Happy New Year!
Also Kranix is not only one of my favorite Transformers Characters, but also one of my favorite Transformers Obscure Characters of all time, Also Honestly I was very proud of Hot Rodimus for trying to save Kranix from the Sharkticons before they dragged him off and I don't know why but every once and a while I'd say to myself Optimus would have tried to save him as well and I know he'd be proud of Hot Rod for trying to save an innocent life, and I agree with you Chris 100% percent, Also the following information is from 2 Comics they are:1.Transformers Universe(limited, mini-series)#4(of)4(march,1986),2.Transformers Universe Trade PaperBack(1987), & 3. Transformers Classics Volume 8 Trade PaperBack(2015), Also Matrix is similar to the Ultimate Nullifier in that both are the only devices capable of destroying and killing and defeating their universe's planet eater.Galactus has the Nullifier on his ship, and "Call of The Primitives" implies that the Origins of The Matrix and Unicron are connected. Unicron also has heralds in The Movie in the form of Galvatron, Scourge & The Sweeps, Cyclonus and his armada They search for the Matrix rather than for Sustenance, but still a similar idea. I too got to feel for them. They were an Entrie race and world created to have no other purpose than to die to show the threat of Unicron, and then later for their last Surviving member to show how evil the Quintessons were. An Entrie race of fridged characters😟😡 Also thank you for sharing Chris, keep up the good work stay safe out there have a Happy Holidays have a good night and until next time TILL ALL ARE ONE.🙂💪🟢🦸🇺🇸. 2:04 am.
Neat
cool that interesting. Happy New Year!
I was born in '86, so I first seen the Transformers movie on TV. One of the highlights of my childhood and still one of my favourite movies. Although, it seems weird in a film made to introduce new toys that they kill off a new character instead of keeping him alive and making him into a toy...
Have a happy new year transformers lore man
I’m surprised there was enough to talk about. I expected the video to be, ‘Kranix is that dude from the movie.
Yo, this year for obscure characters month you should do windcharger
A deluxe class SS86 Kranix with a ship transformation would sell like crazy
Love your vids man, been watching you for 4 yrs now, I have some good Next suggestions: battletrap, Orion pax, goldbug, wreck gar and metroplex 😎🙏🙏🙏
I thought that Arblus was eaten by Unicron and Kranix was the only Lithone to face the Quintessons.
That's 100% Arblus's animation model, and he's identified by name in the storyboard for the scene!
I think Dead End has had enough iterations to warrant a Basics video. There’s the Beast Wars version and Unicron’s Mini-Con. It could also be used to show more examples of reusing character names at random. I love your work and I hope there are many more Basics episodes in the future!
The comic book transformations make me laugh so hard the way there faces are.
I hope we get a Studio series 86 Kranix.
Speaking of the new year, can you also show us the basics on characters like Lugnut or Skyquake?
So in an alternate universe, he got Silver Surfered…..
You either die as food, or live long enough, to become a herald.
Before the imperial magistrate reaches the verdict do you wish to beg for your life? It sometimes helps but not often.... Spare me this mockery off justice
Well written description description.
Shrapnel who always is repeating himself.
Where did you mention him previously? I swear I heard his name origin from you previously
I did cover some of this in the "Untold Story of TFTM" video a couple of months ago!
I really enjoyed this video, really love the theg1 transformers!
Cooooool, I am gonna make a Granix now...
Though the idea of him transforming might dilute the difference between the Cybetronians and his people.
RIP Kranix
Unicron having "heralds" is a nod to how he's basically a Marvel's Galactus "expy", I guess.
WOOOOO KRANIXXXX
He ain't having none of this kangaroo court
I remember Kranix from the 1986 transformers movie. 😀👍
Just awesome!!
Happy New year Chris McFreely🤖💗💗🎊🎉🎉
Ah the Shakticon's light snack
Nice Dude
man, if their planning on releasing more concept art transformers, I want the autobot train that transforms into a giant snake.
there is one detail about Kranix that a lot of people dont know about. his famous iconic line "spare me this mockery of justice!" actually comes from the original Novel of Snow White as she speaks this line when the Huntsman was ordered to kill her in the forest and he had a change of heart.
Happy new year
Please do Tracks and the Technobots/Computron next!
