I found one solution to this but easier to implement while on two wheeler, I go up to people like these and ask are you learning to drive/ride in a clam and friendly way they get surprised and have this doubt on their mind, tried it few times so far and I love the confused look on their faces
When driving in India assume everyone is gonna crash into you and your aim is to navigate through those idiots to stay alive. I know its sad but its the only way to drive
I come across every type when I take my car during the peak hour. Nobody seems to have any patience left in this world. We all want our own space. Can't pinpoint anybody as such because they are all the same. But a special word for buses & lorries, they can make your life hell, so, just give them way. That is what I do.
In all honesty, each one of us faces such bizzare encounter while on the road. One day, while driving on the bylanes of Bangalore, I had stopped at a signal and there was this two - wheeler rider waiting too. Soon after the signal turned green, the vehicles ahead of mine moved and I followed them. Suddenly, I heard a knock from the left. When I turned towards the window and lowered the windshield, the two wheeler driver hollered at me enquiring why the tyre of my car ran over his foot. Though it was his mistake, I apologized and left, as I did not want to create a scene. Do not give up driving yet, forgive, forget and have fun driving
Haha. I am not giving up driving. I am giving up hope that things will improve, that people will drive sensibly as we get better infra and better roads.
This is what happens when a decade plus of driving licenses are offered based on just “changing gears without stall” and “correctly engaging the reverse gear” and bribing officials to get licenses without test on other side of the spectrum !!
People often say that indian traffic sense can be improved by having proper signs and better roads. The real reason why most indians drive like this is because most of these fools got their driver's license without really learning to drive properly. Here in Europe getting a driver's licence is really difficult and you can get one only if you drive perfectly well. You can easily see the difference in the driving experience. It feels so safe to drive in Europe and when my European friends visit India and rent a car, most of them just give up on first day and just hire a taxi. That's the sad state of indian traffic.
This is quite common things which we all face almost every day. Just try to adapt smooth and calmer driving in such situations too. Then beleive me you wont notice these mistakes and you will become a much more better driver for Indian scenarios
I don't disagree at all that these are common. I have been driving here for almost 23 years now, city and highways. And trust me when I say I have become a lot calmer when I drive. These situations are simply becoming more and more frequent and more noticeable especially after the Covid era. The ones I post here are just a fraction of my time behind the wheel, obviously.
I am showing only those instances where I see that people are indeed making mistakes. I have included clips where I acted a bit rashly too. This sarcasm from you is meaningless and just rude.
To be fair (or biased, have it either way :D ), I find that Chennai traffic is a lot more predictable, a bit lesser erratic, a bit more considerate than other cities I have been to.
Divided by languages, united by ignorance of traffic rules. That's us, Indians.
Entire India is like this and people feel proud breaking laws here.

I used to engage with people like these sometimes. But it is not worth the effort or the safety risk, which seems to be increasing everyday.

Anticipation is everything. Agreed. But it tires you out in the city driving and with lot of traffic.
@@ashwinsmr yeah you're absolutely right. It does stress you a lot when you're driving in a heavy city traffic

This is very normal way of driving. Which we cannot change anything here. All has to think same way.

Very true
I think the traffic police should start suspending DL's temporarily when they are shown such proofs. This is the only way these idiots will learn.

Skill issue
Are you saying I lack skill?
He meant it as a joke
this is India dude quiet common
do u think its Germany or something
Of course. But we can only hope that things will get better.
Half the problems will be solved if people have lane discipline and don't make sudden turns and switch lanes suddenly
True. Add some patience and consideration for other drivers sharing to the road. It will be a huge improvement
