  • Big thanks to everyone joining along! Switched up the style of seat after finding this red solo seat at a buddies shop. Be sure to check him out. Tons of awesome parts and in stock in London Ontario Canada!

Just started looking into bobbing my 650 V Star. Just watched all your vids on this series. Awesome work man.

If the red seat gets too much or if it's too bright, try dyeing it black with a thin coat of dye. It'll start to rub off in little patches as you use it and reveal some red underneath. Just an idea - for the rat look to go with the bare steel and black. Bike looks cool and has given me ideas for my own XVS650 bobber build. Cant wait to see it finished.

Glad you could get some ideas! Hopefully you follow along for the next build. Going a different style bobber next

Seat really looks bad ass, but probably uncomfortable on long rides, love the look,I have 12 inche ape's on mine also,lm trying to figure out a way to chop that God awful back classic fender , but want to keep stock seat because it's so comfortable

Did you watch earlier videos? This was a stock classic fender and I chopped it really far back and even took some off the sides

The bar you have under the seat, the one that replaces the strut and lowers the bike some, anyway you have measurements to that bar? Just figured I would ask.

The bar itself is 1.25in square aluminum.
The holes are 9.75 inch centre to centre. Hopefully that helps… I think you can go 9.5inch centre to centre but that’s absolutely maxed out for angle

you mentioned there are seat kits that would fit good. Which solo seat would best fit as is? thanks

There are kits like blue collar that make drop in pans to fit a variety of seats.
Sizing is the next thing. I’m 5’10 185lbs and run a size SM seat. I find the large seat is too wide and long for nice fitment within the stock chasis
