its either 50:50 or favored for whitebeard if he see's his stuff actually. As a wb player myself I can tell you 7c ace and 9c newgate both on curve are neckbreaking for any r/p law. Sometimes you get biased by those games when a player doesn't see his cards creating a wrong impression of how the matchup usually goes (sidenote: its quite unlikely that a r/p see's otama into double gordon / raise max to get rid of 9c whitebeard).
