Thank you for the very useful video. In the final models the Philips screw was replaced by a plastic bung which could be 'flipped' out with a small screwdriver.
Thanks alot for the golf content. I'm driving a '89 VW Fox (South African Model), and this video was really helpful. I'm just struggling with fitting the seat adjustment lever, as I mistakenly removed it from the seat while replacing the guides.
Thank you very much for this video! I couldn’t figure out where the front seat glide component went; hugely appreciated and can now sort out both front seats in my Mk2! Many thanks from the UK 🇬🇧
I am on my 3rd MK1 and thaught i new alot about them. Thanks alot. Our roads in SA are quiet bad and my MK1 pics up alot of rattles would be nice to see a vid on rattles on the dash and doors and stuff. Thanks again for videos. Absolutely brilliant. What beautiful cars they are.
Excellent.. thank you!! Question: ...any experience of erratically water guage that shows rising temp starts even flashing red light when the water is actually not overboiling? I changed now 3x the top sensor with the one wire on it ...and face same problem. Changed both fan sensors and even thermostat too. Can you advise? Golf mk1 cabrio 1986 1800cc?
Ernest Smit a good VW Parts department will be able to source these parts for you no problem, a friend of mine works in the local Parts Dept. and was able to get the part numbers off his PC easily enough
Did you perhaps fit a amp under the rear seat.? You can send me a email to diymotorhous@gmail.com and give me as mutch information as possible so that I can get to the problem

It would be great to have more videos on repairs to VW Citi Golf and others, restoration or modification thereof, the UA-cam videos are great
