Guys the real power of the song is the emotional dynamic behind it! This song was originally sung by Junaid Jamshed (to whom this is dedicated). Junaid Jamshed is a Pakistani legend who was the pioneer and founder of Pop genre in Pakistan from the mid 80s to early 2000s who later turned to religious side and left music helping countless Pakistanis. We lost him last year in a very tragic plane crash that shook the Pakistani soil! Ali Zafar and Ali Hamza said they feel honored to sing song in his tribute!
Strings are the current producers and directors of Coke Studio, it literally comes at the beginning and end of every song you heard from S07 onward! Strings was once the most famous boy band in Pakistan and they had so much acclaim that they even contributed to the 2003's Spider-man soundtrack!!! Strings finally joined to sing in the song because firstly, it is rumored to be their last song with Coke Studio since their 4 year contract has ended and secondly and more importantly, their attachment to Junaid! They all were very close friends and they give Junaid Jamshed the credit for giving them a shout out when Strings was just a struggling band and furthermore, Strings directed the original "Us Rah Par" which Junaid Jamshed sang in 1999!

You guys don't get the significance of this song and why it is the season finale, and understandably so. You don't have the background after all. "Us rah par" is a song originally by Junaid Jamshed, a musician whose contribution to the Pakistani music industry has been tremendous. His songs had this simplicity to them (as you heard), but were extremely melodic and had so much soul that you couldn't help but get lost in them. Unfortunately, last year, he lost his life in a plane crash. This was coke studio's tribute to him. And truly, they chose the perfect song to do so, cuz if you know about the life he led, you'd see that he truly defined "walking your own path and doing what you believe in" when he quit music to become a religious preacher.
Coke Studio didn't overdo it in any way. They just kept it simple and mellow, almost like a warm hug of farewell to a great artist.
Second point. Strings. Again, in the 2000s they used to be huge and along with some other artists and bands, were responsible from bringing Pakistan's declining music industry back to life. Since CS season 7, they've been the ones running the show but we haven't heard them sing for a long time now. So it was just amazing to see them back, and for this song especially. Being an idiot, I didn't actually read the title of the song before watching the video, and I almost screamed when the camera panned back to the singers and I saw Strings standing over there haha. It's kind of a big deal.

Junaid Jumshed is a Darling of Pakistan...A Very Handsome Guy ..I saw him face to face once in a concert as a pop singer in late 90s and also in 2005 when he left singing and started social work and preaching of Islam..I heard his story by himself about how he was changed and left singing..a real gentle man and very down to earth person... may his soul rest in peace..Ameen

This song is more for the sentimental value than the commercial one. They've deliberately kept it simple to pay tribute to Junaid Jamshed. The original was a hit back in 1999, and the country still reels from losing Junaid Jamshed to a tragic airplane crash last year. He was not only the pioneer of pop music in Pakistan but a great and gentle human being too. Rest in peace JJ, miss you so much.

I think you guys shud know that strings the band was producing coke studio since season 7 and its their last season, they had a 4 year contract with coke which is over by the end of season 10.And its season 10's last ep thats why they have made an appearance in it and that is simply awsome loved their message.

listen to Strings' "jab se tumko" ! Coke Studio is what it is because of Strings... Ali Zafar is a noob compared to them ! Also you guys need to remember that most of the songs covered in Coke Studio were originally composed 20-30 years ago (even 50 in some cases) and still contain the essence of the older days despite having modern compositions.

"Strings" is the BEST music band in Pakistan & also the Producers & Directors of Coke Studio for the last four seasons. since then nearly all greatest Coke Studio hits music is directed by them. Two members group comprised of Faisal & Bilal who can be seen singing in this song along with Ali Hamza & Ali Zafar.
