Curators do this for all sorts of things. It gets insanely easy over time, and experience. Think of what you retain from grade school in just 12 years or so. Also ask your car salesman what they have to memorize about every model being sold or coming in. You study and memorize to appear well informed. Same thing whether the cars coming in are new or used.
