Actually, it was intended that he would only have 1 or 2 appearances. But it came completely different. When he woke up the next morning after his first performance of SOS he was a megastar in China and even found bodyguards outside his hotel room. SOS’ first video had 600 million views when it aired. He was just 22 years old at the time. Opera 2 is in Russian. A language he also speaks fluently. The original was from the famous Russian singer named Vitas. The problem was his busy schedule between the performances and he didn’t have enough time to recover. He made very good friends there and many friendships still exist today. After the performance he lost his voice again. It’s unbelievable how he always manages to convey emotions to such a degree. Though I think in this one particular version the emotions he shows are mostly concern about his voice keeping up with the song and the pain he must have been in doing it. You also will get a lot of recommendations of this song from his Bastau concert. But I think you later will appreciate the Bastau version even more if you’ve seen The Singer version before. 💥LONELY ! He lives traditionally, grandparents, whole family under one roof, they don't leave home before marriage, the men bring their brides home to live, family and friends around all the time. Alone for months in China with an interpreter and coach, didn't speak the language, his calls became VERY lonely. His Father flew in and sat in the audience to surprise him, the crew knowing, the camera keeps panning him, the man with the arm pump at the end ! He never left. In an interview, his Mother said since, at least one family member and a friend(s) travels with him, they spell each other off. He's used to family and friends around all the time and performs better. Never know it watching this professional performance.
I think he looks happy on stage when his family is not there.He looks like he has more freedom, can have fun, dance, etc. In his family tradition everything is rigid, men shouldn't dance, women shouldn't.. Look at him in the States with other musicians, a different person.

They ARE a culture of traditions and find comfort, and great pride in them, his generation the FIRST in a thousand years to grow up in a free sovereign state (1991) and they are passionate about preserving their language, culture and traditions which were suppressed and carefully passed down in secret, one generation to the next from Genghis Kahn to the barbed wire Soviet labor camps they were invaded and subjugated as a people. It's what fuels his zeal to show the world what they are ! He is a dedicated adherent. When asked about whether she found the bridal traditions stifling, his Mother smiled comfortably and said, *not at all, they're wonderful. The competition consisted of 14 rounds over 4 months. The jury consisted of 500 spectators who knew music, not just your average "Joe". They were well screened to be sure they would be able to judge the musicians fairly and competently. With up to 1 billion people watching this TV program and international interest was aroused. The performances were uploaded to UA-cam ... and so we became Dimash's Dears.
The Chinese organizers planned... but Dimash came, sang and stayed ... for the next 3 years in China ... but he only finished second in the competition because he is not Chinese (conditions have changed: 2018, Jessie J. won).

This was the second week of The Singer 2017 competition in China. He did not win because according to rules a foreigner couldn't win but rules were changed for the next year.
This song is a cover - original by Vitas. Because of controversy (with Vitas), this will be the last time he'll sing it. Vitas won many awards with this song. He made one key change [Dimash made 3 (with that staccato in the second change) 👏👏. ]

@@judithcaple6439For the right notice Dimash sings Opera2 other 2 times,one in a program in China and the other in a kazakh tv show with a funny version with the change of the words..However the version of Dimash in my opinion is much better of the original song of vitas..The Boss King Angel Dimash Forever
💥LONELY ! He lives traditionally, grandparents, whole family under one roof, they don't leave home before marriage, the men bring their brides home to live, family and friends around all the time. Alone for months in China with an interpreter and coach, didn't speak the language, his calls became VERY lonely. His Father flew in and sat in the audience to surprise him, the crew knowing, the camera keeps panning him, the man with the arm pump at the end ! He never left. In an interview, his Mother said since, at least one family member and a friend(s) travels with him, they spell each other off. He's used to family and friends around all the time and performs better. Never know it watching this professional performance.
I think he looks happy on stage when his family is not there.He looks like he has more freedom, can have fun, dance, etc. In his family tradition everything is rigid, men shouldn't dance, women shouldn't.. Look at him in the States with other musicians, a different person.
@@marane-hand Actually, someone from his family is ALWAYS with him, his Father for one, his mentor and friend, and usually more, along with a friend(s). Perhaps what you're observing is his growth as an individual, maturity, and an ease now as an adult in his many roles in business, music and as the eldest son of a prominent clan, he was raised from birth to preside over and fulfill his responsibilities and obligations as ceremonial head of his clan and his family, both dating from the 14 th century, his ongoing role within his culture and his nation. That's my opinion. Having grown up in Kazakhstan, my observation is they are a family and child centric culture and anything but rigid. Enormously friendly, love gathering together and having a good time and do it all the time ! There is a constant stream of family celebrations for one thing or another, and cultural celebrations as well ! They ARE a culture of traditions and find comfort, and great pride in them, his generation the FIRST in a thousand years to grow up in a free sovereign state (1991) and they are passionate about preserving their language, culture and traditions which were suppressed and carefully passed down in secret, one generation to the next from Genghis Kahn to the barbed wire Soviet labor camps they were invaded and subjugated as a people. It's what fuels his zeal to show the world what they are ! He is a dedicated adherent. When asked about whether she found the bridal traditions stifling, his Mother smiled comfortably and said, *not at all, they're wonderful. As a young bride, I went to college and started my career while my in laws were under the same roof minding my child, I saw him happy, the minute I walked in our home and was free to pursue my career. My family, me, our home were wonderfuly cared for and nurtured" Then laughing said, " when your in laws are right there, you think twice about arguing about every little thing and you don't ! Then later realize how ridiculous you were in the first place !" She said "it's worked for us for centuries, there's meaning and purpose in it". (their tribal culture) They are also Muslim, their religion central in their daily lives, dancing and singing intrinsic in the fabric of their Kazakh lives.
