The 2018 Hyundai i30 N, the Korean marque's highly anticipated foray in the global hot hatchback arena, has finally lobbed into Oz.
So what do you want to know about it?
Well, we went to our Facebook page just prior to the local launch and we asked you. In return, you bombarded us with an avalanche of mostly excellent questions.
So we loaded 30 of your best and boldest questions into our Little Book of N and, thus armed, we hit the road and track for two days, and talked to some of the experts behind the pale blue pint-sized rocketship, in our course of i30 N discovery.

Some may not have liked this, but I think it's a great review of the car. Was severely tempted by one of these so it's good to know my taste was reasonable.

Special Edition I30N next year when the dual clutch releases. 230kw, 450nm (475nm on overboost), Recaro seats, Alcantara trim on dash and door linings. Should be sweet and would add more colour.

mmm, I doubt it. There is no 3 door version in the current i30 line up. Hyundai has anounced the N variant of the i30 Fastback for Europe. If you really want a more stylish version, I'd say that's the one to go for. If you really prefer a 3-door I guess you'll have to wait for the i20N. That hasn't been officially announced, but I'd be surprised if Hyundai is not going to compete in the already very competitive B segment hot hatch.
Iron883Man I have an 2016 I30 3 door Turbo and was interested in px for I30N, I've spoken to a sales rep , He all but confirmed that a 3 door version will arrive as well as a paddleshift variant.
In Europe England I may add
The DCT has been announced for 2019. I think it will probably be launched together with the i30N Fastback somewhere in Q2 or Q3 of next year Haven't seen any announcement of a 3-door variant, not even for the regular i30 line, so I doubt it will arive anytime soon. :(
The cringe was real but some great info. I think I'm gonna go the Elantra SR now to warm up and jump on the i30 N in 2 years time. I want to see if the DCT is any good. I'm loving Hyundai's transformation, they are building some ripper cars.

About a month ago I went on to Hyundai Australia's website and there was a comparison table they had there that compared it to the Golf GTI and the upcoming RS Megane 280. Interestingly enough they have now removed the RS Megane 280 and replaced it with the base model WRX. Does this have anything to do with the boss from Renault Australia recently announcing a Cup Chassis option for the RS Megane 280 or the fact the RS Megane 280 had better performance specs from the start? Anyway, I'll be looking at both the Hyundai and upcoming Renault Sport.
What’s the most psi I can push in this thing and not blow the engine? Asking for my friend the Veloster N. 😏

We have something similar to the i30N but it’s the Hyundai Elantra GT sport but it only goes 201 hp, but I really want to know if i30N ever come to the U.S.
If there's enough demand for it you might see it in North America but pretty sure it won't be called the i30N.
If it does land in the U.S. I heard it will likely be put with the Elantra GT crew so keep your eye on it...
The US Spec version of most cars tend to be dumber. So dont get too optimistic

Get a DSG gearbox and the same interior quality as the Germans and all wheel drive. Hyundai can put the price up and they will sell shit loads of them. The interior now looks cheap and cheerful. Good first effort though Hyundai.

there will be zero warranty if they find you on the track .and how long will it take for the first clutch and or gearbox to pack it in after launch control gets abused
