What an amazing adventure. Glad the owners let you check it out. Very educational to learn about the mechanic and how they got started. Very good Willis tower too.
Been waiting nearly two and a half years for this to come out! Glad you guys had an awesome time in the Chicago area. Be cool to meet up if you ever get back up here!
So that big elevator serves most of the 100 floors to transport goods? Seems relatively fast without being too loud. Also, if you would build that freight elevator today, you'd probably still have a fairly large motor and machinery, but the control unit would probably just be an average sized computer or so..Not that huge cabinet thingy.
Also, why did the big entire building elevator (I’ll call it the big daddy) why did that one have to stop every 40 floors rather than a nonstop flight?
@@BuildingToursForLife1660-4Lack of maintenance, safety devices malfunctioning, controller problems, etc. A lot is in play whenever an elevator gets stuck. However, I do believe the school should be responsible for taking the elevator out of service until the proper maintenance can be performed if it is getting stuck repeatedly.
Amazing footage
Thanks so much!
Amazing and Epic elevators!
Awesome machine room too!
thanks!

@BusMaster99 yeah
how old is that elevator? if it's a Schindler, then you know they're pieces of junk.
When it reaches to the second floor and when it was about to open BOM I didn't open
