  • Recently purchased a Kayak Deck Bungee Kit from a UK company called Swindon Watersports and in this video I show how I fitted the pad eyes, which were part of the kit, to my Winner Purity 1 sit on kayak, using well nuts...

Drill in reverse and apply downward pressure on plastics. Doesn’t bite for those that fear cracking delicate parts. If delicate or rigid hard plastics, drill through masking tape.
    Nice video, thank you.

Easy solution to the screw points sticking through the bulkhead. Use small wooden backing blocks to drive the screws into once they pass through the hull. This not only burrows the screw points it provides a much stronger fastening point as it spreads the stress over a larger section of hull material. Of course this technique can only be used on sections of hull that can be accessed for placement of the wood backing block.

Interesting and I've always used the metal Rivetnuts and never had a problem with them turning or cracking the nylon.

FattyMateo depends what type of water your paddling on, I agree on a canal a bit pointless, but in faster moving water ???

Nope! We just like to do the job properly and not bodge it. You’ve obviously not heard the saying “worse things happen at sea”!

I didn't see anything wrong with the installation process either. Since finding out about well nuts I've seen numerous installation videos and they're all done exactly like this video. Great video by the way 👍.

You gonna tell us how you do it? This seems correct to me.

I install them this way when I cannot access the inside of the kayak. When I can access the inside, I drill a much smaller hole that is approximately the diameter of the screw, then wind the well nut on from the inside. This seems to be much more secure, not sure whether it makes a less watertight seal though. Does anyone else do it this way?
