Much love to Noisey for the opportunity👍🏽❤️
That was a good watch yizz, what's good for some new music
Bro much respect you make good music and thanks for helping through some shit fam i really appreciate it
THUNDER & joy this guy 😂
Yizzy why don’t you both do a real talk interview with Dardest tv? a lot of man seem to be too shook to go on there don’t be one of them
Your gonna be big will start listening.
Seeing Dizzee Rascal being an OG is cool.
He is
Trust I am glad he has become one.
Him, Tinie Tempah, Tinchy Stryder and dat
dizzee spot on, he was the first GRIME artist to blow . the only grime cd you could get at one point was boy in da corner.
Treddin on thin ice
@@jol66 nah dint have that cd
@@jol66 that's was after boy in da corner still
@@jol66 that was after Dizzie
Wiley gave Dizzee the platform, therefore he can't be the ORIGINATOR - It's like Daniel son saying he schooled Mr Miyagi, behave...!!!
Moral of the story is don't try to imitate other people. Experiment and do your own thing. If its good you'll be way more successful than if you're just copying something else. Dizzee had a vibe he wanted to create from his sound and he actually had something to say. That's why his first album was so sick and blew up so hard. I see so many yutes being MCs or Rappers because they wanna be like someone else, not because they have something to say. Don't imitate, originate.
Loooooool
I still remember I love You being played on Radio 1 and the DJ saying I'm not sure what this type of music is but I think people are calling it Grime.
I remember Thissss!!! Yesssss
Stephanie Green haha. I thought I was the only 1 😂
I was literally like 12 maybe 13 🙊😂 I remember the first time I saw the video too! It was on the big screens in Topshop in Manchester arndale an I just froze watching it like 😲 Dizzee is on a fuckinnnnn screeeennnnn hahhahah
Wiley shadow boxing at home
😂
too jokes
You know what’s mad, Dizzee didn’t really claim grime in the early days but it was his sound that basically started the movement. Hearing him talk about it has been a trip down memory lane for real.
Pre Boy in the Corner, 2000, 2001, Dizzee and Wiley set a fierce pace in the Rave and Pirate radio scene. Extremely high work rate, energy and Lyrically gifted, Dizzee and Wiley on a Rave flyer was always a big event. Back then in this new scene, Dizzee was definitely ahead of his time.
Way ahead. Same with Kano. The age they bought out their albums is crazy to look back on
Man do I feel old when he said he don’t even know what birds of a feather is
I’d still press Dorian green
Dan Shearing 😂😂
@@EnjoytheQ. Bro please. ..😂😂😂😂😂
And they re-relased more recent episodes , and him still na hear of if.....Lol...
😂😂😂 the start tho proved Yizzy's impression was on point 😂😂😂😂...As for who started Grime. It's a collective effort. Similar sounds were being made during the same time. So it's hard to say but So Solid Crew definitely at something pre Grime. It was like Grime but like UK Garage. But that Asher D vs Dizzee Rascal clash on Choice FM. Truly was a huge landmark in Grime. So Boy In Da Corner definitely is considered the Grime Bible.
Yeah, but Wiley is called the godfather because he did so much for the scene. Wiley nurtured a whole generation of grime artists. Wiley's legacy is bigger than himself, Dizzee's ain't
Wiley literally created the grime sound. Dizzie is just jealous
Wiley didn't create anything but the eski sound. Rascal made grime when William was still making garage.
Lewi white, Danny weed...all did just as much as Wiley for that exact sound.
Wiley is called godfather cos he was older than everyone else, simple. Guy has rinsed half of roll deep for cash and who has he bought through? Exactly.
Wiley constantly calling out people for jumping on grime to make p, between him releasing shit pop tunes in the charts...guys become a joke and mad bitter
@@bahramshams wiley didn't nurture fuck all stop chatting breeze. He put on a rave that was ill and barely showed to it 😂
Guy ripped off bare mcs and bought no one through.
Diz put generals on a platform and has always been doing bits.
His dubs are just as big as anything wiley dropped on vinyl.
Stormzy started real grime
This was a dope interview. Dizzee OG
Wiley is out there somewhere practicing Shin Shoryuken’s!!!
Grime Pioneers: Jon E Cash (Black Ops), Dice Recordings, DJ Monde, The Endz, Musical Mobb, and more.....
DPM
They're all pioneers of Dark Garage mate. Just like how Jungle didn't evolve into Drum & Bass without the Intelligent music transition aka the grey area.
Jungle - Intelligent - Drum & Bass
UK Garage (2 Step) - Dark Garage - Grime/Dubstep
Jon E Cash is defo more on a sublow tip. always has been.
I like yizzy he’s obviously a nice person but the biting bars has clouded his musicianship ✋🏾
Dizzy conducts himself correctly.
As soon as Yizzy said Brockley first bar that we are reminded of is "and it's K Dot kid man bad man from Brockley, no sound bwoy can't stop me, take my bruises and I still win like Rocky" (Can you name the song this bar is from?)
Southside Allstars
literally going out hes way to not mention Wiley ,at least give the man hes credit for puttin you on mate.
Yeah you don't even have to mention his name, just "the guy that got me stabbed" will do
It just makes him look like a little pussyhole wileys right about him
Wiley put him on????
Whattttt?
Every one is Soooo confused with this whole "grime founder"
There no single person that created grime remember that! But the first grime album to drop was DIZZEE BOY IN THE CORNER & if you already knew that then you'd have known WILEY FEATURED ON THIS FRIKKIN ALBUM - "2 FAR"
Search it! He had petty bars on that but DIZZEE PUT HIM ON!
Man said "putting you on" this is why Dizzie is like how he is wiley didnt put him on, Gods Gift Put Wiley on by bringing him into Garage and then encouraging to push a different sound to grime . Dizzie was doing his ting before Wiley he was with Nasty Crew shelling it down and had his own Sound called "dirtee beats" Facts people think the 1st grime tune was in 01 which says alot. Facts Wiley was biting off Dizzie Doogz go and listen to old old old Wiley and you'll see wiley using lyrics from Dizzie and trying to structure songs like Dizzie and he was using doogz flow early in his career hence why doogz used to hot him up and he used to hate it . And Made some shitty watered down Version of Sting and tried to pass it off as grime culture.
@@amylloyd4817 lmao but wileys wrong. Lmao you lot will believe anything. Wiley is clutching he knows in his heart he didnt put Dizzie on hence why he refers to Dizzie as joint godfather. But he cant achieve what Dizzie has from a solely urban view so he just claims everyone else heritage even when it's not true. All of wileys biggest achievements in music has come from music that's non grime or hip hop. He doesnt have a Bitc and that bugs him.
Yizzy is definitely a youngster, "is it like rnb, or pop?" 😂😂😂😂😂
Chantelle Williams young buck 😂😂😂
@@mrocto4839 Same thing mate.
Chantelle Williams same thing
This is lovely. Both so talented. Just Yizzy's Prince of grime. Oh my gosh.
It ain't jus a London thing being blunt when ya not interested it is easier your right in n out🇬🇧💯
Such a good interview!
Wiley started it he elevated a lot of careers. That’s that so credit to him and show some respect.
Yeah they came from garage and started a new sound...Wiley has long since been the Godfather of the sound. To not mention him is disrespect.
LUX 3000 Wiley played a key part in elevating dizzees career and in addition to that just in case you’ve forgotten or may have a memory of a fish, he also played a key part in the likes of Kano, Skepta, Chipmunk/Chip! So yeah now facts.
We know wiley didn't create grime but he coined the sound and pushed it for years, wiley will always be the godfather. You can tell dizzee don't like that.
No people think wiley made the sound. And he doesn't like wiley getting credit for something dizzie felt like he pioneered
@@firellparker7463 dizzee made a grime Bible, I can't deny that. But he hasn't been back since. This was 2003 ffs.
Jay grime dizzee never made grime!
Q. Who Started Grime?
A. Pay As U Go Cartel, NASTY Crew, Roll Deep, More Fire Crew/Fire Camp and others from East London.
Nainocard you missed So Solid Crew my guy
Ki DL The best to ever do it
SMH you missed Jon E cash (Black Ops crew), Dice Recordings, Oxide, wookie, Heartless Crew, Bionic Beats, Essentials, Black Jack, Mr wong,
Darren Walker - All those names you've mentioned were not the faces of the music. They may have provided the Instrumentals but the emceeing, energy and vibes came from East Londoners. Listen to Kyze's interview on NFTR about when he was living in East London.
Tek Time - No. Swiss and I had a long conversation about this on Twitter and even he agreed. Dizzee Rascal doesn't credit himself enough for actually starting Grime.
The only people that care so much about who started something are the people who weren’t even born at the time or at most were only old enough to be singing nursery rhymes. No music genre is started by any one person, and no music genre comes out of left field. It’s organic, it’s a tree with branches. Those of us who where into the music, listening to pirate stations, going to clubs around the beginning of the century know how garage music diversified and went in different directions and one tune became so different from another tune it really wasn’t the same genre anymore. And we all love being part of a culture so we have to give these different sounds a name. I’m gonna call mine grime, I’m gonna call mine dubstep, I’m gonna call mine sublow, 8bar, 4x4, baseline or whatever the f... In one room an mc was a host and in another room the mc’s were the main event. Damn, I’ve got an an album called ‘the grime album’ from like 2003/4 and I don’t think it had an mc on it!
I can remember when I first heard him on a tape.
Wiley created the scene, but dizzee created the sound
Dizzee was just the first Grime artist to go mainstream, Wiley is known as the originator for good reason.
What does that make Kano then? The true GOAT
@@Smith89123 YES come on
Yizzy is a pioneer, first man to cat bars left right and centre and still manage to stay in the scene somehow
Someone fucking said it. So many other mcs that are better than him. Mic of course embarrassed him on lotm.
@@tomwright4969 I've said for time i think he's a nice little poster boy for the industry to push. If the machine is behind you you can't really lose, if it isn't just getting a foot in the door is almost impossible.
yes fam
Tbf , the way fruity loops was set out like a drum machine, these basic music patterns were there to be had and made into new ways. Just because dizzee made a couple beats and laid some basslines doesn't mean he created the first grime sound. The love for grimy basslines evolved. The Skippy beats were kind of new but not totally. Pulse X was really a beginning into new territory back then, it was track every Mc wanted to ride, thing was made on PlayStation ffs. Plus if you know from around 2001/2002 they already had mastered the emceeing flow before the grimey sound, they were spitting on garage. The Dj's played what worked. Dizzee made a masterpiece. Wiley shaped the scene with his material
When you check it out imagine walking around with photos of yourself ready to sign fucking ole school as you can get lol
Respect
Of course he bless. Man from Bow E3.
Wiley always speaks highly of dizzy and has a level of respect. This guy is just pure disrespectful in denying the fact that Wiley created it.
But no ones mentioned, youngstar, pulse x that tune was the birth of grime.
FACTS!!!! That was the first Grime track!
Dizzee and Yizzy are London ❤️🙏🏽
Birds Of A Feather 😂 😂 🤣.. that’s how you can tell Dizzee is old school like happy shopper
The first grime tune was DJ deeklines 'i don't smoke' but dizzees consistency with dark music makes him the originator
That’s definitely a garage beat
@@jojo7709 How was it garage when it was the first song with break beat drums and a dark base with no other elements. It was the first grime bear
I'm glad people have these "who created what" arguments outside of the US too lol
Wow dizzie is an og now fuckin hell
🔥🔥🔥
Who created grime debate - 6:22
thanks
Dizzy a og
Grime was started in 1982 by ryuichi sakamoto & david sylvian The song is called bamboo
So Solid crew are the pioneers of Dark Garage alongside Sticky, El-B, Wookie, Zed Bias and many others. Grime and Dubstep both evolved from Dark Garage music. That was the turning point when Heartless, Pay As U Go and So Solid controlled the UK Garage scene.
Dizzee leaning in proper taking in the conversation, proper relating
fam if you're from bow you know wiley didn't make grime
🙄
Doogz did
So we not gonna act like this guy wasn't stealing whole flows and bars back in the day 🤣
@Cherry yizzy the kid
Dizzee just loves giving sly jabs to Wiley
Trilla Jermaine Trilloski invented Grime
that's Bassline
@@ALEXSMALLX its all the same shit
Birds of a feather is classic.
wouldn't say Dizzee started grime, but boy in da corner is probably the one album everyone who listens to grime would know. first mainsteam hit in the genre, so you could say Dizzee did i guess
Diizzy gone big... i jus remember his bangers when he looked a yoot!!
Wiley is the godfather of grime fullstop. Without him the scene wouldn't exist, Dizzee still has a problem with Wiley. Wiley didn't sell out!
@Cherry the difference is Wiley can do different genres of music but still stick to his roots... what made him a household name. Dizzee just saw £££. Multiple artists haven't sold out but instead paved the way for artists like Stormzy i.e Skepta. Dizzee doesn't care for grime, artists like aitch and aj tracey blew off grime then just forget about the genre they used!!!
@Cherry we will have agree to disagree on this one because what ever excuse you use for Dizzee in my opinion he sold out for peas. Mans on a Ladbrokes ad you get me because he wants money. I get it thats the world we live in. But when you've got man like Sir Spiro doing his ting for the love grime that's worth more than any money. Money mashed Scott Storch up
Wiley is coming yo!!
They all had a part in the movement of grime ..dizzee blew huge :BUT! Wiley brought him threw ..wot you call it sort of set the concrete the production was more London in a sense : jammer did LOTM ..kano brought slick Skippy bars ,jme was more out there and eccentric, skepta was cold and straight to the point they all had there own unique style as did the older ones before them ..sharky major John e cash, merky ace ,durrty goodz ect: it was a magical unique time in British musical history I don't think it's fair to label anyone the creator of grime ,now especially they all worked hard to merge the scene
And well done to all those who participated and gave us our own voice and genre we know as grime today ...my youth was totally sick !!!!
@Liam Ferris
don't forget mark one / virus syndicate who had the first grime album on the planet mu-label which - as label in general - introduced grime and other styles to follow to a totally different audience of electronic music nerds which are not rooted in uk urban music at all.
No wiley never brought him through.
idk what your all talking about didnt hear about wiley til after dizzee with: "who ate all the pies, its wiley" dizzee the best rapper from uk since slick rick. watch his freestyles.
Wiley was on pirate radio for years before that.By the time grime went mainstream Grime artists were already established on the underground scene.
Proper want a signed dizzie photo that he mentioned he's not doing shit with them he said so sort that shit out for me he's one of my favorites since day i grew up on him and wiley and skepta and devilman and jme my era
without even looking it was deffo wiley FACT
Grime King- dizzee rascal
Wiley started grime. He created the sound
Well done Yizzy
Grime 4 life
How did the kid not know about the show? 😂 I was born in 97 and even I know
Sorry but there's not enough "real grime" without the eski bass, Dizzee.
And some crucial beats on BIDC were big in the scene before you clutched them.
Vocally though, you started something sick. You were probably the first iconic grime MC, and people are still emulating you now, but let's not forget that acapellas don't get wheel ups.
Same age bracket as Dizzee, mans a fkn legend
Birds of a feather lol😂
Of all people Dizzee could of put on and he chooses this number 1 pirator
We Roll Deep regular...
Rahhhhh he's a cat!!!! Why the fuck do you give yizzy these platforms.😂😂😂 JOKES
Sugar Hill Gang started grime
Stfu 😭😭😭
Yep. Dizzy stole their sound.
He openly admits it.
Grandmaster flash too 😂
Without Jay Z's 'Is That Your Chick" (prod. Timbaland) grime would not have had it's signature drum rhythm that dominated the genre for the first few years. Even Dizz said he wrote I Luv You to the instrumental of Is That Your Chick and when he made the actual riddim it was modelled directly on it. And man always wanna try say there's "no influence of hip hop in grime" lol....
love that accent 🌹
Au-o Graff.
It's the dumb, low IQ accent.
Wiley is gonna hate this...lool
Like like like like like
Dizzee showing his age!😆 birds of a feather love it 😆 the kids of today just can't appreciate the shows we used to watch as kids! 😆🙈
Wiley
Birds of a feather ! ..🤣
Seen wileys insta... he wants to clash Dizzie
Yizzy steals bars. No respect
D double, raskit, wil, Kane, ghetto, sharky maybe a couple more I’ve missed, p, rotten, grim.
This mixed race yout I don’t even know or care to know who he is. Grime is our ting fam you had to be there in those times to really embrace it. I’m 32.
Carlos Powell real talk brooooo
Amen Bro but u missed goodz and trim who are two of the illest to do it, and 2 mcs that bodied wiley the hardest
John Fry agreed fam. Knew I had missed a few man.
LOL oi someone at @William real quick
Dizzee is mad when it comes to holding a grudge, might have been a roadman as a kid but he's a popstar now for fucks sake give it a rest
Wiley didn’t create grime but nobody did more for it.. GODFATHER
Grime rap music grimble crime grime Ancer
Who is Yizzy?
Yo Dizzee u gona meet wiley in Bow? Buluku Buluku!
Right i rate dizzee his 1 of the greatest but you wouldnt have diz without wiley or visa versa . Shame he don’t like wiley eskimo dance was where diz first got his name on stage . How can he say that . His done a mazza in the music bizz yes but grime . Was made from a collective of manz . Realist grime album was dizzee that was the defining moment . But there was steps up to that . Wiley was always the guy involved in the whole ting no doubt. So solid wasn’t quite grime to me never felt like grime . Thats why no one says there name in the conversation.
Birds of a feather my fav R&B duo 🐦 🐦
Mans need to put respect on Wiley’s name !
Dizzie my guy I knew he wasn't going to say Wiley, years of salty...
Cause Wiley Didn't.
Two legends In the Same room old and new
why is yizzy on here? he teeth so many bars look in to it
Wiley started grime. End of show.
