Serbia, it's a true artistic masterpiece. Ramonda is purple flower that grows out of stone and even when it dries out, it can be revived with just one drop of water. Ramonda serbica grows only in Serbia and it's kind of phoenix flower. Love it! 💜🌸
No need to exaggerate, it grows all over the Balkan Peninsula even in Bulgaria and Greece, Serbs were the first to record it in the botanic encyclopedia and hence were the first to claim the official name for the flower ...
Yes you're right, but instead I would say it is "Ethnic Ballad" because it can be used in general since not all the countries that do send these types of songs are Balkan countries. (imo🤷♂)
If you think of it in another perspective, a ballad could really stand out, because viewers might get bored of all the up tempo pop songs, and then when a ballad is performed, it will be really different from all the other songs, and could stand out amongst everything else.
Hi Favour!! A Ramona is Serbias national flower and it comes back to life after dying, which represents their victories during world war 1, which is also what this song is about❤
Ramonda is flower, it can be found in Serbia and it's flower that is able to come back to life after dying, it represents peace after world war I and victory
I'm a ballad girly through and through, so when I first heard Serbia's song, it was immediately my favorite. And Portugal is also one of my favorites this year.
love ur reactions, Ramonda is a symbol of hope, and remembrance of suffering and heroism during the First World War. where Serbia lost more than half of its population. Greetings from Serbia, and yes Serbia has the best nightlife, so u should definitely come here!
Sweden won't "fail to qualify" because they are already in the finale because they won the contest last year and are hosting this year. And even if they weren't, since the semis was introduced in 2004, they only failed to qualify for the finale once in 2010. (I really like it; not enough to have it in my top 10, but enough for it to qualify, if I was to choose). Switzerland, UK and Ukraine are in my top 10.
They were even in the top 10 with the televote when they did nq. The only time theyve not been top 10 with the televote in the semi was 2008. So it looks like they will be a fixture in the final for the forseeable future
When you said that a country is doomed if they choose a ballad this year, it is actually the quite opposite. The ballads will stand out, principally in the juries and also the televote. People do get tired of a lot of high energy songs
Just a quick heads up that Nemo is Non-Binary, so they go by they-them pronouns, with their song being about their identity as a non-binary individual! And that also stands for Ireland’s representative, Bambie Thug, who is also Non-Binary!!
21:58 Yes it was shot in Serbia in front of the green screen 😂 But in all seriousness we have a lot of mountains in Serbia. You should visit all Balkan countries.
switzerlands performer, Nemo, is non binary, so they are singing about their journey finding themselfs, thats also why there are so many diffrent styles in this one song
Interesting facts about songs or singers: - 🇬🇧 : If you listen the first seconds of the song, it as similarities with the song "it's a sin" by Pet Shop Boys... which is also the name of the TV Series where he (Olly) is !!! - 🇺🇦 : This is the third time Jery Heil try to represent Ukraine this year, she is with Alyona Alyona, a popular rapper in his country but also have some popularity in Europe. - 🇨🇭 : I love the joke where the song has different Genres and it is sang by a non Binary people. Jokes aside, that could be a favorite for this year. - 🇸🇪 : M&Ms birthplace is in ... Norway !!! 🇳🇴. And to be in Eurovision, they won the Swedish National Final called Melodifestivalen, which is a popular TV Show in Sweden. - 🇪🇸 : I see you didn't seen the lyrics of the song. Because Zorra is translated as "Vixen"... Which have a double connotation in your language I think. She wants to keep the "Beautiful " of this word to have a positive view of Woman. - 🇷🇸 : So this song is a traditional Balkan Ballad, where the meaning is about peace and love. As you have maybe seen, Ramonda is a flower that you can seen only in Serbia. That can reflect the hope for a better world.
fun fact: the guy from UK is the guy that sung the song that goes „and oooooh i was the king under your control” It was a global hit and was called „king” You 100% heard it in the radio!! he is a hige star all over europe The song from Ukraine is about mother Teresa as you said and the braids are actually a type of slavic braids that are specific for Ukraine, Poland, Czechia, Russia and some balkan countries Song from Switzerland is about finding their true self, Nemo is non-binary and the line „somewhere between the 0 and 1” is about finding the real identity. I never quite caught the part with mirror tbh and now that You said it, the meaning of the song feels even stronger I hate the song from Sweden as well😭 and another fun fact: those guys went viral few years back and their old songs were viral all over yt and musically The song from Spain is just pure fun but knowing that Zorra means „sl*t” or „bi*tch” makes me chuckle everytime i think about it. „vixen” is a censured version but the literall translation is „sl*t” The song from Serbia is amazing and the meaning is just as strong as the vocals. Teya also made a viral song called „džanum” Ramonda flower is a symbol of Serbia and exists only there. The last line is „From the ashes, a singular ramonda flower is going to grow” and is about Serbian people rising from the ashes after a war, you see 1/3 of serbian population was killed and times after the war were very hard to live in. Ramonda flowers are living only in part of serbian mountains and can grow in hard conditions. they can rise just like serbia did after war
Marcus and Martinus sing live and they have been singing and been pretty big artists in scandinavia (with over 1 billion streams on Spotify) they started singing When they were like 10 or something and has been touring and all in northern europe:)
So some background on every participant in this video: Olly (UK): He's huge. He's charted abd reached n1 on UK charts many times and was part of a group called Years and years that were quite popular. Alyona Alyona (Ukraine): Queen of ukranian hip hop and rap. She was a kindergarten teacher before starting music and collabed with Jerry Heil multiple times before Jerry Heil (Ukraine): a big ukranian artist. She's competed to represent Ukraine twice before in 2020 and 2023 and was always loved by fans Nemo (Switzerland): they're non-binary and were preety unknown before being selected but they're a big fan fav and second or third on betting odds Marcus & Martinus (Sweden): are names every girl born in 2000's will recognise. They're norwegians twins who started music at 12/13 and they were huge in most of Europe having toured all around it before the age of 18. Nebulossa (Spain): composed of a husband and wife, the song tells a story of women who are labeled Zorra (bitch). How every time they achieve something people say they didn't deserve it. They tried out last year for San Marino but didn't make it through auditions and then won for Spain this year (which is the exact oposite of Megara who lost in Spain last year and won San Marino this year) Teya Dora (Serbia): she had a huge breakthrough last year with her song Džanum. She's a trained singer who studied in US. She was one of the bigger names in their national final this year and beat Konstrakta and Breskvica and caused Serbian radicalists to create a protest against her win because Breskvica had a song about wanting to genocide albanians)
Marcus and Martinus are extremely popular here in Sweden and in Norway (where they are from), also I was there in the arena when they made this performance and trust me, it was not even CLOSE how much cheering on they got compared to the others. Also this was live vocals, not pre recorded, imo they were flawless.
Who said Luxembourg was made for that reason? Yes, Tali's brother iirc is fighting for nono country, but that's not what the song is for? In fact from what I remember the artists performing at Luxembourg national finals didnt even fully write the songs they're submitting this year. It's shocking to me that people will try to convince others that because Tali has ties to nono country in her roots, that automatically equates to her song being pro-war?!
Sweden automatically qualifies as they won last year and are, consequently, hosting this year. I love their song, it’s very European and fits the music considered to be popular here. Also, yes, they’re twins I believe. Olly Alexander is massive here in the UK and in some other European countries, so it’s a good year for us this time! Olly has performed the song live a few times and he can pull it off with ease (watch his vevo performance or from the pre-party in Madrid if you want to check). It’s a tough year, so many bops!

I always prefer every country singing in their native language, to some degree it's the point of Eurovision. At least it should be. Seeing that this year many countries are showing their traditions and language, I like it💪
I think the opposite of what you said, in a year full of party and funny songs the ballads will stand out so much, its that moment where you can relax and appreciate quality like Serbia, France and Portugal. Ukraine is definetely the front runner at this point with Switzerland not far behind.
I would say that in the Luxembourg Song Contest, none of the artists wrote the songs for themselves, in fact in the case of Luxembourg's representative she has claimed that the genre of her song is very unlike her usual music. The connection that the song is referencing her brother who is in the IDF doesn't make sense as she had no power over the writing of her song, so it is likely a just a coincidence rather than a deliberate political message. To be fair, I initially too thought it was referencing her brother, but after finding out how Luxembourg's participant's song was selected and produced, I no longer think the same way.
The message can apply to all of us, to rise from every suffering and difficult life period and turn our weakness into strength, just as the Serbian people experienced recovery after great human losses during the WW1> The symbol of Armistice Day in the First World War.. Yes this year definitely is a lot of Dance pop/Eurodance! Competion is high as hell. This year I and a lot more genuinely dont know who is gonna win. Probably hope on Switzerland!
Here's something to know: The video of Denmark on the official Eurovision channel may seem live, however, there is dubbed music video audio over the top of it. If you want the real live performance with the real live vocals, search "SABA - SAND | LIVE | Winning Performance | Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2024" or use this link: ua-cam.com/video/m0pvdpo5zU0/v-deo.html
Love your reaction-video's! Thank you again! If you want to react to all 37 songs, and you do 7 in stead of 6, you have all of them 1 week before the event starts. (28 to go /7 = 4 weeks) - Or simply keep doing 6 per week and leave the last 4 songs for the finalweek...
This year is so good and competitive! There’s legitimately only 3 songs I do not care for… the rest are either good or amazing. It’s going to be such an exciting final.
Hey Favour! Last week you reacted to Malta but they revamped the song and its quite different now, and there is a studio version now so please react to her again!
Marcus and Martinus are artist that have been around since 2012 when they won mgp jr with there song to drapper vann, back then they where 9 or 10 and since 2015 they have been super popular is there home country, Norway. The vocal for sure changed but i think they are still very good aswell as the song. last year they did enter mello in 2023 and they got 2nd after loreen with there song air, i feel like if they vocals are bad they wouldn't gotten 2nd last year aswell. (i'm not native english sorry for typos en bad grammer)
Hello from Sweden again! Ha ha didn’t Ukraine or Sweden get their own chapters! 😂 Marcus & Martinus that are representing Sweden are actually twins from the neighbooring country Norway! They were popular artists in Sweden even when they still were kids, I grew up with thier song ”Elektrisk” (Electrical), they sing it in their native language Norwegian, but it is very similar to Swedish so we understands it well! They won Melodifestivalen 2024, the Swedish national final to decide the representatives for Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest. Both the international jury groups and the Swedish viewers voted for Marcus & Martinus, the Norwegian twins, to represent us as we are the host nation for the song contest! (Only so you know, Sweden are directly qualified for the Grand Final because we won last year and are host!) But I really wanted other artists to represent Sweden, for example Maria Sur (a Ukrainian refuge that came here), Danny Saucedo or LIAMOO. Oh well, we just have to see how the results turn out in the end, it is only a week there! I hoped to travel down to Malmö since it is not far from where I live in Sweden and look at the event, but I back out because it seems too dangerous with the many protests in the city against Israel’s participation in Eurovision. 😢 That is sad, their song is REALLY good this year!
Hi Favour! Love your reactions! You should check Spain's live version of the song rather than the video. It is funnier and more powerful. And you will see how much the crowd is into it. Thank you for your videos! 😊😊
Being a Swedish expat I did not participate in choosing the song, and I’m not sure what they were up against… but I feel like our song would have been better if the singers had slightly more mature voices. They sound so young, and it is kind of giving boy band electronic crossover. I am here for Spain and Finland this year!
It was a very good video and to see your reactions to these songs. The UK guy is Olly Alexander and he is from Years & Years which has multiple chart hiting songs and he is very reliable live. Sweden was 100% live. I like the song but personally the staging is like 2x times better then the song (for me) - Spain was great live, the crown was singing along (although the meaning of the title is a bit to discuss) - Serbia was also veeeery good live, much better then the of.video - About the next songs - I can't wait to see the reactions to Norway and France (my favourites). There are sssooo maaany great songs this year.
This is the first video of yours I’ve watched, and as an American Eurovision fan who also got hooked by an Azerbaijani song (Mata Hari), you make me feel seen

The fact you didn't react to Ireland is crazy it was one of the most talked about performances!

Nemo is non-binary, thats what he means by 'i broke the code'
YAYYY MORE VIDEOS
ballads usually does well if there are few of them, and bad if there is many.
We need a full reaction of the final! I feel the live performance of Ireland you may change your mind.
Girly you gotta react to Maltas revamp with the other ones because it’s so much better then the live
Personaly I really like Marcus & Martiunus's voices so much, also the song is amazing for me
Love your reaction-video's! Thank you again! If you want to react to all 37 songs, and you do 7 in stead of 6, you have all of them 1 week before the event starts. (28 to go /7 = 4 weeks) - Or simply keep doing 6 per week and leave the last 4 songs for the finalweek...
I love that this year there isn’t a clear winner. That’s makes it more exciting
We love a positive queen, thanks for your honest reaction!!!!
Definitely voting for Ukraine
Never fail to entertain. Big up the UK this year!
Glory to UKRAINIAN HEROES.
Freedom above all else
Favour i LOVE your eurovision reactions ❤❤❤
This is great that you're reacting to all the songs. Just a tip. You'll be getting crazy more views if you dedicate a video to each country.
Olly is brilliant and he is a brilliant actor as well he was in a drama over here in the England Called It A Sin about AIDS in the 80s it was so good
A ramonda is a balkan flower
You should react to special performance by 3 divas of Eurovision
Helena, Sertab & Laperrelli those were the Honorary performers this year
Ballads are very few this year indeed.
This year is so good and competitive! There’s legitimately only 3 songs I do not care for… the rest are either good or amazing. It’s going to be such an exciting final.
Thank you from Ukraine 💛💙
omg you should definitely watch Zorra live🤣
We Love U Girl❤️🔥🇦🇿😍
UK and Switzerland are my top two this year.
I'm looking forward to your reaction to Portugal ❤
Olly can sing live !!!! Years and years
I am here for Spain and Finland this year!
i cant wait for ur reaction to Ireland and Norway
MA MA MA MATA HARI! 💃🏽✨🎶😍 HI FRIEND! 👋
You want to see Nebulossa work the crowd, watch the national final performance.
I love Spain's song so much for its message! A song about being a hot, unapologetic Zorra is so something women need ❤
No offense to anything about you but Nemo goes by the pronouns They/Them (they are non-binary)
Omg another video
