Bronson Reed vs Ivar was match of the night for me. I haven’t watched WWE in a while so I’m not familiar and was thinking “maybe this was a bad matchup” particularly in the first 1-3 minutes when the crowd was dead - but I was wrong! Damn, as match progressed, the impact went up, the craziness went up, and the crowd volume went way up.
Its funny how the old school guys are adamant supporters of CM Punk (who was the epitimy of the "new school" vs the new school gatekeepers of current wrestling stars who seem to view punk as a "cancer" in any locker room. Old school wrestlers are keenly aware that what the majority of fans want to see and "react" too (overwhelmingly so) is what draws money.
it's crazy that if you read Meltzer or X and if you listen someone that actually knows everybody involved in the AEW chaos and that was there it seems like there are two different realities
I think what we’re seeing is a character change… I feel like we’re going to end up seeing the “franchise” version of Punk. He’s not the voice of the voiceless anymore speaking truth to power, but more of the part timer now coming back to “steal” opportunities from hard working guys who are there. The angle is him living long enough to see himself become the villain. I’m cool with it.
He was talking to tony and the kids. Wwe rarely promotes people that aren't ready from nxt to the main roster. The kids normally get the shit kicked out of them in nxt and all the new guys that have come through all seem to be good workers.

Scorched earth was the pipe bomb promo, when Punk was pissed off. Now he's older, he's wiser, and he survived that shitshow that is AEW. He's old school. He's here to put asses in the seats, not cause trouble in the locker room, like other poorly run promotions. Edit: Damn Mark Henry is awesome.

The Velveteen Dream is to Triple H like what Shawn Michael's was to Vince. The Velveteen Dream can single-handedly save professional wrestling. Allister Black is Dreams rival but he can make unbelievable magic with so many others.
Genuine question, how do you think AEW dropped the ball with him? I hope it works out for him, I really do but I am not a fan. I was indifferent at best and have been completely over him since his press conference performance. I think Tony Khan messed up by letting Punk run the show and not nipping that in the bud right from the start both with Punk and anyone else involved but would be interested to know what you think. Mostly, I feel like Punk is a one man circus sideshow who detracts from everyone else (the Busted Open show after Survivor Series was 2 hours 36 minutes all CM Punk all the time and 24 minutes Survivor Series)- not always his fault, and I wonder how this will be different.
I think it was more a Phil Brooks promo for the most part, not the CM Punk everyone was expecting (wanting?). The promo is what ot needed to be and the character CM Punk will appear in the coming weeks. I can see him making very subtle jabs at AEW, but for the most part, it's going to be about wrestling as Mark said. The "I'm here to make money" comment was a subtle jab at Tony Khan and AEW. TK is more concerned with making friends than making money. They could have cashed in on CMFTR vs The Elite.....MJF/Punk aside, that could have been their biggest fued in the history of AEW The Bucks just showed how they aren't serious about the business side of pro wrestling. I think Kenny would have done it, but the Bucks decided not to be pros and work together.

@@reddragon0624 could be, if Seth and Punk duke it out I'm sure they would have probably the top 10 best rivalry matches of all time if not the top 5, We shall see what happens.
Yet he's the one who gets caught up in the drama lol.
Although im young guy 22, i would like to say thank you . Y’all r all legends for what you’ve given to the business.😊
Henry's grey beard reveals the wisdom of a wrestling vet
I think what we’re seeing is a character change… I feel like we’re going to end up seeing the “franchise” version of Punk. He’s not the voice of the voiceless anymore speaking truth to power, but more of the part timer now coming back to “steal” opportunities from hard working guys who are there. The angle is him living long enough to see himself become the villain. I’m cool with it.
I haven't watched wwe in over 10 years and I tuned in to see him. I think that says it all.
Foley is on point. As a big AEW fan it was so frustrating that all the shenanigans with Punk consistently overshadowed other things.
I would love to have dinner with Mark and Bully and just talk about life and wrestling. I'm so happy I found this
Great Great show Bully and Mark. someone is gonna feel the pain! Appreciate you Mark appreciate you Bully.
I am digging this. I like seeing them while they talk wrestling more than hearing them talk about wrestling on the radio. .
He was talking to Tony, in that context it makes sense. in the context of the promo that he cut, it was kind of odd, it felt like a separate sidebar
meanwhile tony wants to be friend to whole aew roster instead of being a boss
@@ar.michael8306 I mean he's the only person that needs that advice right? I didn't feel like CM Punk was talking to me when he said that
He was talking to tony and the kids.
Wwe rarely promotes people that aren't ready from nxt to the main roster. The kids normally get the shit kicked out of them in nxt and all the new guys that have come through all seem to be good workers.
@@shadow_realm47 oh hell yeah the longer Vince is out of the picture the more WWE is going to be NXT from 2018
im happy that punk is back and fired by aew. he and eddie are the reason why i watch and love wrestling to begin with. but if you compare the wwe promo with aew- the aew one was much stronger but also the wwe prome felt genuine. hope he gets his wrestlemania main event!
Henry is the man! 🙏
Great show as usual boys keep up the great work.!!
First time watching this podcast... awesome job and great to hear the last few comments from Mick on LA KNIGHT...YEAH
CM Punk is good for business plain and simple...
Bronson reed deserves a push. Such a hard worker and great at what he does!
That match was great. They were setting the bar for big men. We already know Bronson is a beast. Most impressive was ivar showing that he is actually really good as a singles competitor, showcasing his talent and skills
The Velveteen Dream is to Triple H like what Shawn Michael's was to Vince. The Velveteen Dream can single-handedly save professional wrestling. Allister Black is Dreams rival but he can make unbelievable magic with so many others.
What a great cast love you Bully and Mark Henry, you guys are geniuses
This podcast really hits different from all the other negativity shit you hear everyday.
Dude I had no idea Bubba Ray is this good at this. He sounds like he’s been in broadcasting for years
I love this team. Mark Henry and Bubba Ray/Bully Ray! Great podcast, imo
Why would Punk talk about the Kenny and the Bucks, lol, most fans would be like, "whoooooo????".
Gotta Respect Bully Ray for Asking the Hard Question 8:18
Mark’s interpretation of Punk’s promo is 10 times more resonant than Phil’s
bully ray and mark henry, thanks for your great wrestling matches..much love
cm punk last line was im not here to make friends I'm here to make money facts lol
It's good CM didn't talk about aew or attempt to. Tony Khan dropped the ball with Punk. Aew need to count their days. Punk is good. Great comeback
AEW is #2 in America. They are doing quite good financially. They don't need to count their days. They will be around for quite a while.
Saving the best for Seth unless he appears in Smackdown
That comment had absolutely NOTHING to do with Khan or AEW lol
@@morrnmanderson7376 Oh c'mon.....any rational person can read between the lines.
@@yxeaviationphotogit can be multiple things. a small jab at TK, maybe a set up for a sell out heel punk down the line etc.
Love you guys. Why cant people just like all the wrestling we are getting now. Instead of riding one companies Shaft?? Fanboys give us a cancer that makes us all look bad. And the dirt-sheets are not helping the matter.
Its the AEW Fans dude who creates these rivalry Like AEW vs WWE like dude these guys cant chill out
@@Appu-uo8mi I have had death threats from both sides over on X in my DMs in the fast few days. Because I like watching all of it.
@@WyldStallyns77same. Although I can’t watch wwe tv. Just the PLEs I’ll watch in full, and tv highlights. Raw is just too long, and there’s a lot of kid stuff (like the r truth and tozawa segments) that are just too corny. But I love watching all of aew even though there’s plenty of stuff I’m starting to skip. I’ll dvr dynamite and skip all the njpw stuff and indie type matches. And I skip the Adam Cole/roddy strong stuff with prejudice 😂
First time listener. I enjoyed this so much. Thank you.
That last quote was a slight dig to the bucks.. cause he did alittle victory lap afterwards
I love it. Screw the Cucamonga kids. They need to just go away.
The three men that I watched in WWE and TNA/Impact as a kid/tween/teen talking together (Bubba Ray/Brother Ray/Bully Ray, Mark Henry and Mick Foley). Priceless!
GOAT conversations!
Imho….i think Chic Magnet saying “I’m not here to make friends, I’m here to make money” was part of the upcoming angle. It was a work. Seth labeled him a hypocrite…..so Punk’s gonna lean into that for the sake of storyline.
For years, I just watched WWE pay-per-view last night was the first night in a long time. I actually watched Monday night war and enjoyed it
Beautiful from Foley! Praise all round for Punk!
Where were the intheclutch guys?
I was a lapsed fan after WWE went into the PG era. But Punk's whole pipebomb was everywhere & got me back into watching WWE & wrestling as a whole. He did his best work in WWE, his run in AEW was kind of a dud except for the MJF feud which I admit was epic, I never thought I'd see the day he'd return to WWE but here we are.
This is a great take. Thanks guys
I love Bully Ray shocked look when Bronson Reed said it was the first time he wrestled Ivar XD
mark Henry is a legend and so is everyone on this podcast , keep up the good work bully! ❤ from Australia
#1 Wrestling talk show of all time, Busted Open
Mark henry is probably 1 of the most honest and straight forward person you will ever meet, dosnt put up with shit from nobody
Has anyone heard Mick say he was done with Foley is Pod? Cant find it, but heard he said it on this ep.
