I like his takes. I do find it funny when he says stuff like, "I just want pro-wrestling!" then the next week he'll say "I dont care about all the moves and flips in-ring, give me stories!" A bit paradoxical and insulting to the ppl who listen, like we're all stupid and don't remember he said the opposide last week.

Mark talking about heart is translation to where did I peak as a performer. Punk wanted to be back in 2019 but WWE gave him Kurt Angle treatment. Bubba was one of the worst experiences in wrestling I've ever had, meeting guys. The dude is a legit asshole to fans, especially during his ROH run. Total asshole and I get why so many of his fellow wrestlers call him a dickhead.

Mick talking about shifting gears and the difference Punk has had me thinking. Its not that other guys don't have a 5th gear, it's that they start in 5th. Punk starts low and ramps. His fued with MJF was the best AEW have had and it started by him literally walking into the ring, looking at MJF and leaving without saying a word. Most guys start a fued by screaming at each other and it's just 100% from the get go so by week 3 it already feels stale 😅

Im glad to see Punk. Is he really any diffrent then others? Look at back stage in the 80's and 90's....
Taker had to create Wrestlers Court for a reason. Punk just wears it in his sleeve.
Welcome back Punk!!! GLAD TO SEE YOU!!!
Look at Hogan, Vince, Rock, Bret Heart, Ultimate Warrior....to just name a few. These guys were worse then Punk.

Exactly.... The biggest problem with aew is not taking advice from Veterans which is the culture of wrestling locker room...
Veterans even call the spot during matches and if veterans allow you to call their matches, then it's huge... Cm punk is old school who follows this... Cm punks problem with wwe was ego clashing with ego not unprofessional behavior which aew has...
This chip on his shoulder made him second most popular star after Cena in this generation and that's not a small achievement..
WWE signing him just when they're about to sign new network deal makes sense... There's huge chance networks might throw low contract saying Vince is not running the show anymore and aew always trending in social media doesn't help either...
With cm punk they got a star who wwe tv audience recognizes, small mainstream presence and huge polarised figure in internet...
So with punk wwe can basically say "looks what's trending" to networks...
This is also huge blow to aew Locker room as reported their morale was down 😅... I mean if wwe locker room and management can get along with punk for business and aew not doing it and dropping the ball is crazy... Cm punk issue is with elite and friends and not everyone in aew locker room....

@@THUGPUTINI agree and I commented elsewhere that it’s pretty sad that the AEW guys’ morale would be down just because punk got a new job after they ran him off and fired him. That means they expected him to never be able to go back to wwe and they were counting on him not working in wrestling anymore. Thats pretty pathetic, they didn’t want him. It shouldn’t matter where he goes.

I think what we’re seeing is a character change… I feel like we’re going to end up seeing the “franchise” version of Punk. He’s not the voice of the voiceless anymore speaking truth to power, but more of the part timer now coming back to “steal” opportunities from hard working guys who are there. The angle is him living long enough to see himself become the villain. I’m cool with it.

Its funny how the old school guys are adamant supporters of CM Punk (who was the epitimy of the "new school" vs the new school gatekeepers of current wrestling stars who seem to view punk as a "cancer" in any locker room. Old school wrestlers are keenly aware that what the majority of fans want to see and "react" too (overwhelmingly so) is what draws money.
