  • Reading through Leviticus for the first time was SO difficult for me and probably could have been easier if I'd read chapter 20 first. This video is a flip through of the notes I took on my journey reading through and discovering what it all meant.
Resources (all are free online) I used:
    Believer's Bible Commentary
    NIV Archaeological Study Bible
    NIV Life Application Bible
Those two are my favorite and what I refer to the most. But I also use:
    NIV Cultural Backgrounds Study Bible
    Holman Illustrated Bible Dictionary
Strong's Expanded Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible
I study in an ESV bible but I couldn't find ESV versions of those study resources for free online. They are on Amazon! But pricey for a broke girl like me.

This is SO helpful. I hardly see any youtubers doing Leviticus flip-throughs! Thank you! 🙏

Good for you for getting through it! I really suggest reading Leviticus alongside Hebrews. It will help you see Jesus' sacrifice (as well as His obedience) in a new light.
It's also great to see a Bible flip through that has actual notes/highlights/underlining, instead of pictures/stickers and painting over the text.

It makes me feel sentimental thinking back to how difficult it was for me to get into Exodus-Deuteronomy and now I can't wait to read them again!

Of course! It's on archive.org. You can make a free account and check it out like a library! I could only find the Old Testament and it's missing part of or all of Genesis but I just love having ANY access to it! archive.org/details/bibleknowledgeco0000unse/mode/2up?view=theater

@@sirensgloo I don't know anything about these resources you're mentioning. But honestly, sometimes all the study helps can get overwhelming. If you are entirely new reading the Bible, just start in the New Testament. It's much shorter and much easier than the Old Testament. If you have a Bible that has the short introductions to each book, that's helpful. Basically what you need is who wrote it, to whom it was written, and a general idea what it's about.
If you start in the New Testament, the first book you will see is Matthew. The first four books, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, give the accounts of what Jesus said and did while on earth. John is a bit different because he's pointing out more theological things. But they're all pretty understandable.
I just hate to see people who are new to the Bible get discouraged!
