Hi abby just found your video and on over the moon to learn how to tighten my over the knee boots, as like yours they were to loose on the leg and your spot on about skinny girls need this information 😀
Your welcome! I didn’t sew all the way up. I started a little after where the adjustable string is. Same with the bottom, I stopped above the hard part at the heel of the boot.
Hi Abby! You did a great job! I was looking for how to alter my new pair of OTK boots and I saw yours on Google. Thank you so much for this video. I have the same problem of my boots being too loose. I saw Rhea's video but it wasn't too clear to me. I noticed you didn't mark all the way up and down the boots. So my question is did you sew the boots right from the top where the laces are to the bottom near the heel? If yes, how were you able to get close enough to the heel to make the stitch seamless? I had to subscribe right away. This video is so helpful.
Thanks! No, I did not start from the laces at the top. I started a little below that in half of a “c” shape, then straighten out and sewed straight down. I also stopped a little above the bottom before I hit the heel and end with the bottom half of a “c” shape. I hope they helped!
@@abbyinspiredOkay. I understand what you mean. I can sew. The only thing is I don't have a sewing machine in the US. Mine is in Nigeria. I'll probably sew it manually. I hope it would look good cos my little concern is that my boot is quite spacious at the top where the lace is and doing what you said would leave the top as wide as it is while the rest of the shoe will be fitted. Maybe I don't have to make the the rest of the boot so fitted, since there is a lace, so that it can still look good even with the wide top circumference. I'll work my way around it though. The problems of girls with skinny legs..lol. Thank you so much for responding.
@@abbyinspired one more thing, wish me luck as I'm trying to sew it by hand, cause my boots have no zip as I can't flip them inside out completely 😂 this is really a challenge 🫣🥹
So after the straight stitch what was next? Is there excess after you stitches it? Did you cut it off? I think I’m confused on that part and the cut to the boots lol
Heyyy i reallyy really love your video but can you please tell me that after i alter it what do I do about the extra part? Should I cut it off or let it stay
I did not cut the extra fabric. It actually lays flat without cutting it. That way if you need to adjust them again you can. I have gained what since I altered but I am able to loosen them up.
Cheak out my no sew video on boot alterations OTKB to big and baggy, resizing/alterations, no sew, no glue, make them fit using only a stapler / Amber Taylor ua-cam.com/video/mTUmNqL3p6c/v-deo.html
No, I did not cut any material. I left the excess material as is and the boots were still smooth. Just in case my skinny legs get bigger I can always take out the stitch.
Hey abby ur such an amazing women im a huge fan. I luv your channel. I have no women friends and i cant secretly talk to them about whats going on with me. I beg u please dont see me as a creep 😔 for wat i about to say to u. Ive been so obssessed with women wearing tall boots for years. Ever since Mehan Markle gave a speech about feminism it came to the point tht i wonder how it feels to wear yall boots. When i first bought myself a pair of boots, they were thigh high boots tht pass my mid thigh. I went crazy and i was so excited tht i been practicing walking and the poses u women do in boots lol. Months passed from February 2020 to now i bought some over the knee boots and been practicing walks and poses as well. I do this wen im alone sometimes. Now i want to buy a huge boot collection. Im still a 24 yr old straight single male whos near the end of his college career taking his 5th major and be exercising. But wen i do this i feel so good and confident. Why do i feel like this and how u feel about this? I feel very comfortable talking to u and you are such powerful feminine woman.
hey, i know it’s a year later but I hope you made the decision to continue doing what brings you joy. self expression is meant to break borders & be fluid. no shame in that.
@@vocari thnx vocari I'm still continuing have fun with myself I now own 10 pairs of boots and I have finally already finished college and now working at my career job. So nothing changed for me 🙂. I'm still my awesome self and love every minute of it, but again thank you so much.

Hey.. thanks for this. I can’t tell if you sew all the way up to the end of the boot ( including the lining with the adjustable string)
