1939 John Deere Will It Run?? + Antique Sorghum Press
Вставка
- Опубліковано 8 лют 2025
- In this very first video on the second channel of This N That Garage I see if this old 1939 John Deere B will run. Also, this antique 100+ year old sorghum press made my molasses taste like axle grease! Come see what I do to fix that issue!
I don't comment very often, but the memories that old J.D. tractor brought back put me in a hayfield watching the grass fall over an old sickle bar. Pulled on that flywheel when it was still green over 60 years ago but it seems like yesterday. I will not miss any of your videos. Love the old stuff Thank You for the memories.
👍
Awesome start for 2nd channel! Those that complain on the main channel are just hecklers trying to get a rise out of ya, I dare, noo I DOUBLE dare them to try and do what you do Heck by the time I finish watching you, my back hurts probable just as much as your knee 😂. Keep up the good ole back yard butchery Its enjoyed very much here. I'm 70 and still doing the "if ya got it, lets make it work!" And if ya dont got it, make something that will make it work.
Please name the channel back yard butchery also im already in love with this style of video something about you fixing small things back to back keeps me hooked
Woo hoo 'EXTRY'!!!!! Happy...err... Sunday y'all! I'm sure hoping everyone has had a most wonderful weekend and I pray that until we meet again on Friday that you have a great week! Looking forward to this first 'EXTRY' video Mr Chad and my best hopes and prayers that this new avenue works out for your best interest. I know I'll be here and promise to share each & every video from here on for you. My Facebook account has been hacked and I'm locked out at the moment but I'm working with someone to get it back. In the meantime I've created a temporary new account that I'll post to but once I'm back into the OG, I'll go back and post there as well. God bless y'all! 💙🙏🏼
Why can't we just have the old metal gas cans with the flexible metal spouts back?! 🤷🏻♂️😞
awesome and a bonus to have a sunday video to watch and you are right most new gas cans that are made today are garbage
Chad.... I really think that you should take one of your old trucks and build a shop truck as a project. You know carry the necessities that you can think of and work out in the field on these finds. It would add another level to your channel...!!
Darn near wet myself seeing you run from them wasps 😂 haven't laughed 🤣 that hard in a while!!! You always put a smile on my face!
Thanks Buddy
Laughing in tears when you told the molasses tasting like grease story. Thank you.
It done my old heart a lot of good to watch you start that old tractor. I was turnin' that fly wheel right along with you. Thank you!!
Had a good laugh seeing all the grease. No wonder the molasses tasted bad. Thanks for showing that old machine. I'm surprised that old tractor started up like it did. Gas was dripping out of the carb, then you would open the choke and gas would pour out. It didn't care, it started right up. I hope your neighbor can have some fun working on it. That outlook is what is keeping him young.
The old tractors need a lot of gas to get going.
I bought some wasp spray at Wallyworld. I bought the cheap stuff,of course. Went to spray the wasp nest, and all it did was piss em off. Anyway, I'm not one to read directions. After escaping the fury of the wasps, I read the directions. Said shake vigorously. What happened was the bad stuff settled to the bottom. It worked after I shook it. Maybe I'll read the directions now, probably not. Good video!
I'm just as happy with this channel as I am with the first. Love watching you work my friend.
Love what you doing on the new chanel 👍 looking forward to the next video 👍
Don't think I have seen that unusual tread pattern on a tire before.
Another great This and That video👍
That's those hard rubber tires similar to what they used to put on bikes when I was a kid.
Those old rubber tires cut up and bolted on ol steel wheels.
Hey Chad......you are a magician 🎩 with these old trucks and tractors. Love it.
Chad you smashed it on your second channel, to be honest Chad if you sucked air out of a tyre, you with your personality and humour you just bring a smile to my face, oh don't forget the pool for next year, can't wait for that one!
Awesome,Ive allways liked working on antique tractors.
I love the old tractor content. In my younger days i had a good friend who had a small collection of around 10 ole 2 popper deeres. We used to take to all the parades and tractor show. I hand cranked a many ole 2 poppers. He has since passed away. It was a great time in my life and learned alot from him.
Keep doing what you do!! I watch your channel religiously. Keep ‘en coming
This is a type of stuff I Enjoy watching you do. It's why I fell in love with your Channel I enjoy your laid back look on life. Simple and Down-to-earth And with common sense You remind me of my Dad Not afraid of speaking your mind. Keep up the great work Thank you
Ooh baby! Yes I'm a die hard fan, I watch every Friday you post (have been for a while now) Thanks Chad, let's see I sure hope this channel takes off just like your first channel did!! I really hope the views start to go up again on the first channel, unfortunately you need to be an oracle to know what the heck will get new viewers and to go trending! You've done it before, I'm sure you'll do it again!
I really enjoy watching both your channels keep keeping on with the UA-cam!
One of my all time favorite John deer
i have really enjoyed your second channel ! especially the sorghum press im sure others will enjoy it too!
Second channel, heck yeah. Twice the entertainment. Nicely done, Chad 😊
I have seen my dad make molasses with a different type engine. The molasses poured out into a large tub. That’s where it was boiled down. It’s brings back a lot of memories. Love this channel keep it up. I remember dad with a big paddle, stirring the juice.
All my family loves your channels it family time wen u come on
So cool, great video
Got a feelin you could make 1 of these videos just about everyday except Sunday! Always busy with sumthin! And although I wouldn't know sorghum if i fell into a pile of it, I found that old machine pretty fascinating. Good job buddy!
Really enjoy this content. Keep it up!
Same here 1965
Those old John deer tractors are the best. Awesome new channel. Your hard work is going to pay off.
Yes I’m all for the new channel new content keep them coming!!!
You moved like I did when I "found" a nest in a concrete block wall. Us big folk can move when motivated! 😂
Move so fast it straight up feels like your moving through the matrix lol
I hate waspers!
You and me both, we have been dealing with a ton of them at work this year. Nesting even in the holes in racking. Good shot of brake parts cleaner usually takes care of them. 😁@@ThisNThatGarageExtry
Knocked it put of the park, Chad! Looking forward to more! Thank you for just being you!
You need to market your own brand of dual action brake cleaner/wasp killer.
I really enjoy watching whatever you get into keep up the good work my grasshopper lawn mower you have to jack it up and take the battery out from the bottom to change the battery
Chad, You should have never questioned yourself about a second channel. When you got to the battery compartment on the four wheeler and described the designer I had a pretty good laugh.....and more than once !!! Excellent new channel that will be successful. Hope it goes through the roof for you. You work hard and deserve a couple million subscribers !
I love the Extryness of this channel, keep up the great work Chad!
The sorghum press has more parts than a pocket watch!!! I like old tractors too!! Awesome debut episode.
Maybe more parts than a cheap "dollar" pocket watch. A nice railroad grade pocket watch has a great lot of parts . Been repairing clocks and watches for a living 53 years now. . Never worked on a sorghum press though .LOL
Ripped pants?!?!?!?!?!?!? 🤣You got me dying!! 🤣Love those old tractors. Great video. All the variety in this video has me trying to guess what yer gonna do next. I know it'll be educational and entertaining to say the very least and mostly just enjoyable watching a good friend getting some stuff done. I appreciate you Chad.
Love the second channel content already. Looking forward to more. Would have loved to have seen the power washing.
Love the extry, Chad!! Thanks for sharing!
Great start for the new channel . Loved it. Keep up the great work chad.😎🇬🇧
Hey another great video I really enjoyed watching you get that old tractor running again after you got through fighting the wasp's... Truth of the matter is I just love seeing the old type machinery up and running again just like the piece of equipment that squeezes the sugar Kane to make the molasses keep up the good work and God bless
Love the idea of two channels..thanks again for another wonderful and awesome video
Love TNT garage extra!! Like the old farm equipment/tractors and have a few myself. Keep em coming if possible. Thanks!!
Pretty sweet you're making that old stuff still work
Loving the new channel! I like old stuff like that press. I bought a 1hp briggs & stratton side shaft engine back in the summer. I give a whopping $10 for it. I want to restore it this winter. Like i said on your last video, i'll watch whatever you post. Big ol thumbs up!
Glad to see a video on this channel. Hopefully everything works out and it kicks off!
This is great just the extrys I like to see, just quick dirty and just a good ol boy put in work 👍.
Yaaay! More This N That content!
Love seeing the old stuff run. They made it to last. I have a 1924 Robinson & Myers fan in the house that runs 24/7 and actually moves the air rather than beating the air to death like the new fans. Thanks for sharing. Love it!!
Wow thanks for the history lesson. Was pretty neat for a feller to learn. I didn't even know molasses came from sorghum. I don't believe I ever contemplated it.
Now this was awesome. Love the old machinery, Chad. I tell ya I feel your pain with them new gas cans. All junk! I ended up breaking the plastic crap too before using it. All junk, brittle and cost an arm and a leg. I ended up getting a few Jerry cans from harbor freight and use the battery operated fuel transfer device. Fantastic video, always a pleasure to watch.
got the same fuel cans here in Oz, never ever had a problem with them and I use them weekly.
Awesome! Great video love the old equipment!!
As usual, an excellent video! Boy, I remember starting those old John Deeres with the flywheel...sure built patience. They belonged to what might be considered my mentor. He's gone now and would be around 117 if he were alive today. You brought back some good memories! Thanks!
this is a great start to the new channel thanks chad.
Fantastic first episode keep it up Chad.
Always love seeing old machinery at work. The old tractor and the molasses maker were really cool. Thank you for another cool video!!
Love the new channel!!! I'm originally from Maine and I used to pick apples at an orchard. They had a machine very similar to that one that they made cider with. I loved using it. I think I was maybe 10 or so. That was way before child labor laws! We worked from sun up to sun down during picking season. Heck we even got time off from school for it course that was over 40 years ago.😁
Chad, that was awesome. I can't believe that you got that old JD running. Excellent video. Thanks. 👍👍❤
Yes! Loving more content. This is fantastic
that was cool , love seeing the old hardware !
Great to see these old things run, entertaining and educational. I work in agriculture and have never heard of a sorghum press, I'm in the great white north though 🙂
Great start to the second channel. I like the oddities little thing like old tractors and motors. Fingers crossed this short content pulls in new viewers to grow the channel! Looking forward to seeing the tracker show.
great second channel chad love seeing old machines up and running
Great video Chad! On the main channel I would hear talk about all this other stuff you would do throughout your day! Now we get to enjoy all that other stuff! Your awesome! 👊🙏
I thoroughly enjoy watching you fix and piddle with pretty much anything! Well done sir! I can't wait for the next video....keep doing what your doing, your on the right track. By the way, try not to get stung by those mean bee's!! 👍👍🇺🇲
I love working on those old units , good for anxiety relief 😂
Great addition!! So glad you decided to go with Extry channel!! love to see the other everyday projects. Keep up the good work!!
Loving the little jobs on the 2nd channel
Amerzahn’s got the old style gas can spouts. They’re about twenty buckerooskis for 4 of them. I bought them a few years ago for my cans… I am not disappointed! Saved me a gaul dern headache.
Just bought a 5 pack! Preshate it. 👍
Love the extry! Can't wait to se more!
I love these types of videos and look forward to the new channel!
Great episode. Great start to the 2nd channel. Loved having more to watch. Thanks Chad!
Can't wait to hear how the new batch of molasses turns out. Great starting video for this channel.
Had so much fun watching you fighting the wasps, getting things done and telling greasy stories!

I think this channel is going to do good for those of us with a small attention span 😂
🤦♂️
I liked the video and seeing the old equipment I be looking forward to the next video Chad
Hey Chad; Another great video as always. I always love to see old equipment brought back to life in which you did big time. Sounds like a good show coming up, I wish there were events like that here in this area of Central Kentucky. Thank goodness for UA-cam videos.
Of all the guys out there makin' a livin' on the you tube, you're the most genuine. Keep up the good work!
Preshate that. 👍
Brilliant, really enjoyed that my friend, keep up the great work.🇬🇧
Thanks Chad you never disappoint another great video I love to see old machinery come back to life 😊
Super cool 😎 I like it. Plenty of stuff you went over. Great job I'll keep watching
When the wasp are flying.....You move real quick, for a large older guy ! I enjoy your videos, keep'em coming
I am neither fat nor old!!
Another great video Mister Chad! These kind of videos is how I found This and That to start with. I need help changing the thermostat in my Jeep Renegade...engineering uuuggg.....my part is $42, but it'll be a 2 hour job cause of where the thermostat is located. Somebody needs smacked for the stupid ideas. Anyway love BOTH channels!
Dumb engineers!!
Straight slot screws could be added to the list of stuff that should be outlawed along with square head bolts.
I love this channel. I guess I just love your content no matter what. Geez I hope your successful with this utube thing, I would really miss it. And you.
I enjoy watching variety of stuff you do so keep it up! 👍👍👍👍
I just love your new channel. so fun to see you working on old farm machinery
I love your og channel and content and hope you don’t change it! That being said, this is the kind of stuff I really enjoy and I’m super glad you made the second channel and look forward to more vids of yours no matter what the content. Oh on the emulsion tube, you can tap them (1/4-20 or 28 I believe is the size) and use threaded rod and a piece of tube or the like over the stem of carb and pull them out. Just clean and lube it as well as possible first and the threads don’t affect operation any. Keep up the good work!!
Already tapped that one the first time I cleaned it. 👍
Love your new channel, born and raised in Iowa, I talked to a couple of old timers that raced flat heads on a dirt track, they filled their tires with molasses, ran John Deere dome pistons for high compression, put oat meal in a leaky radiator, and used goose fat for bearing grease and burned corn alcohol for racing fuel , I was amazed at the county fair to see home made tractors converted from a model-t, I'll be waiting for the next episode, cool content, good job.👍
I was almost out of breath, watching you turn that wheel😂😂. I really like it that you have a second channel.
That was some cool stuff and to see you working on it was great! That old tractor Is gonna polish up real nice I bet!
Awesome episode, love seeing old machines come back to life. If ya do end up with some molasses, let us know. Sure a few of us on here would sure love some to drizzle on some biscuits.
Love me some good ole molasses cookies too!!
Awesome! lovin' this new content sir, thank you
Awesome video!!we used to make syrup with mules pulling the machine
