Always good to see Meadows on YT, glad you enjoyed your visit. The lack of rake really does allow for some huge stacks, it's not uncommon to see multiple $1k stacks in the 1/2 400 cap game, and they can get ridiculous when the 1/3 game regs are gambling it up. Hope you make it back!
That’s my home poker room. Awesome action here. Also that lockout hand is exactly why Omaha is so profitable. Hes semi bluffing with the third nut flush draw when anyone can have anything. He does it with basically zero fold equity by making it a min click. Also his turn bet looked like pure weakness given the size. He basically never has a nutted hand on that river given his sizing on all three streets. This is Omaha though, people are just clicking buttons. Also is that a homemade version of “Float on” playing on repeat? EDIT: I made that comment before you said at the end.
Yeah, we've had them for about 15 years in Portland. Some of the rules are a bit weird because of city laws. House is not allowed to take a rake, hence the door fee, which covers all day. Couple other rules are to classify the games as tournaments, because only tournaments are allowed by the city. Can only run a hand once, for example. Couple other ones which you wouldn't notice most of the time. Portland Meadows used to be a horse racing track, and this room was located at the track. About 5 years or so ago they moved to this location. But they have horse racing feeds you can still bet on as well. It's probably the most popular room in Portland, but there are a few others.
You played the Omaha hand pretty well not knowing where you were. You didn't get to crazy with the two pair and nut draw. Pretty standard call on the flop considering sizing. The bet size on the turn was odd....maybe he had a straight, but didn't want to get jammed on and freerolled if he bet too large, but just a call is good with 7 pure nut outs, 4 for a FH and then the club back door. Pot is large enough to have to pay off a half pot bet on the river with back door 3rd nut. 5 Card is normally a split pot game but the two I saw were really only high boards.....
Very nice session. I wouldn't worry so much about balance in a low stakes short session versus players you will rarely see. Low stakes mostly play standard also. Good job working thru the Bomb pot hand. You're holding 3 ♧s making it much less likely for villain to have a flush. I probably would have raised turn there with so much equity, but flatting to realize it is fine also. Really enjoyed it. I don't subscribe to many vloggers but I'd like to see more of your content. Good session!
Very good vlog. I live here in Portland and routinely play in big bomb pot only games almost daily. I say that because please don’t listen to Michael holland about raising the turn lol. You’re almost always drawing to only hearts as your club draw is usually no good and your two pair is definitely no good. Great channel and great vlog 🎉
@tomsmooth5569 playing passive is a losing players mentality. Aggression wins in poker which is why every professional players uses it with a shit ton of equity. Thousands of dollars are wasted over time by playing passive. If you don't bet turn, you have zero credibility on a brick river. Start the aggression on the turn.
@@elsahill6480 yeah I definetly sat out at the start to see what was happening but, it just seemed like players were making such big mistakes in these game

Haha yes sir! Great poker room loved the atmosphere
Sick vlog. Great session!
Do they usually run a 2/5 or 5/10 on Fridays and Saturdays?
I’m unsure, but there was a 2/5 running when I was there on a Tuesday
Just found your channel. PLEASE continue with including solver in your hands. Thx
Welcome to the channel! I include them whenever it is applicable! Unfortunately some multiway spots are tough
@JQpoker unfortunately it's 13 against fish who can't spell solver😊

#1 way to never lose in Omaha: Do not play.
