Followed these directions to swap out the memory card door piece and the pieces that wrap around below the door because the rubber on these parts was worn. I ordered the replacement parts from eBay direct from China. Everything went well but this video doesn't show you that the main grip is attached to the right side piece with double sided tape. I used a hairdryer to heat up the side and then slowly peeled it away from the edge of the grip. When I reassembled I used a thin piece of 3M permanent double sided tape to add some extra stick to the piece of tape that still on the grip in case it lost some of the stick. I then re-heated the edge with the hairdryer and pressed very firmly after reassembly. I hope it holds over time.

Thank you!! I did all that, fixed my shutter, and reassemed but it won't turn on at all.
Rechecked all connections to the board and all seem okay. Where else to,, look please?

replying to myself and others: DO NOT touch the power PCB with your fingers. I bought a replacement from aliexpress and the camera is now fully fixed.

    Thanks for the video
    I have a very funny idea/question.
I have a Z6 and a z7 with broken viewfinder and a crack in the upper plastic part.
I have a somewhat crazy idea: Would it be possible to remove the sensor and main circuit board/control board of the Z6 and then install the Z7 sensor and control board. All other parts should be identical, right? Then I would have a Z7 in a Z6 case.😊

Do you know if it is possible?

Did you try it in the end? I swapped an EVF from a Z6 into a Z7 and both work fine, seems to be just the main board and sensor assembly that differ from my own experience. Can’t be certain though.

@@cianmcliam1 unfortunately I could not try it in the end 😥

I have a fungus on my sensor, nikon z6, I don't know if it's inside the sensor or in any of the filters, do you know if that can be cleaned?

Thanks for posting this video. It looks like I have to take the entire back panel (monitor etc.) off in order to replace the memory card door assembly. Am I missing something? Is there an easier way to access that part of the camera?

Do you think this is more difficult to repair than a DSLR or easier?

What are the odds of me receiving some used garbage when ordering the part from China, on Ebay? 👀
Kind of a bummer that there doesn't seem to be a way to order the parts directly from Nikon.
