I went to a Vintage Hat Walk on Saturday but didn't realise it was part of a world wide event until now. We got a talk about the history of hats & to see a lot of vintage hats and I bought one of them at the end.

Hello! This is a very good question. Hat pins work very well if you have a stiff hairdo under your hat - think Edwardian Gibson girl, or 60s bouffant hair. Esentially you need somethig for the hat pin to go into that isn't your skull. These days people don't wear their hair in such elaborate styles, so ealstics, combs and grips are the go to. Also, I personally don't like to use hat pins as they can leave unsightly holes in the hat material.

He was way too close- and if he just wanted to see the details of her hat he would have waited and asked consent. It rather made me uncomfortable just watching the video. Was she even aware he was there?!?!?
