    Hey we are bayliner buddies now. I just bought an 88' 2455 ciera for $3000 but all the leather seats were redone in white leather. It looks good.

    Hello I turned to youtube to find out more about the byliner 2450 because i have one and came across your channel. Nice to see someone else is taking on the same challenge as I. I look forward to see how you restore and remodel it. Also can i turn to you if i have question about the boat.

      Sure, I can't say I will have all the answers but as times go on, I will know a good deal about this boat. I tend to go all in on projects and learn all there is to learn.

    A lot of those engines get water inside them from the engine hatch. There's a really good chance it's just hydra locked but it's not worth messing with. I am looking forward to seeing this boat restoration

    Mike, those VDO dashboards are usually junk.. You'll prob be wanting to totally replace that with some standard gauges..

    • @CaptainMike1965
      @CaptainMike1965  Рік тому +1

      Good point Bruce. I do plan to alter it. My plan is to install the new Garmin chart plotter that will replace most of the gauges. I think the only thing I will need to replace and keep is the RPM

    for $600 both electrical and fuel system would be a mess so 0% chance of cranking and starting. Also, the motor and the outdrive would probably be trash since each of them is separately worth much more than $600. Then again - you know what you pay for)

    • @CaptainMike1965
      @CaptainMike1965  Рік тому

      Yes for sure. Of course the plan was to replace the motor and outdrive even if they worked.

      Raul, I don't plan to put much time in it as I already was planning to replace it. It would have been interesting if it would have cranked tho.

    That isn’t built like your Carver 32, that boat was built with a choppy gun, I would donate to kars for kids and look for a new project. Glad to see your back rolling.

    • @CaptainMike1965
      @CaptainMike1965  Рік тому +1

      Yes you are correct. However this being a production boat, there are a lot of them out there. Many people will be looking fir DIY videos on all the things I will fix or replace. It also is not a cruiser boat will,that I am turning it into(adding frige, hotwater heater, etc) I think it will be a great project.

    • @stevep7085
      @stevep7085 Рік тому

      @@CaptainMike1965 no doubt you will fix it up, I just hate to see you spend all the time and money to get it seaworthy only to find out it’s not loop worthy. I think back some of the wx you and Marty got into and you never went above Virginia, that 24’ bayliner isn’t going to take that. Safety first my friend.

    • @CaptainMike1965
      @CaptainMike1965  Рік тому

      @Steve p well, sir, stick around and find out. I thrive on challenges. I once purchased a 23' Sunrunner and, along with 2 other fireman buddies, drove it down via water from Niantic Connecticut. I understand you doubting it, but just give me til the end of summer 24. Also, the reason I chose a trailer able boat was so I could start where I left off.
      I appreciate you following along!
