Graham seems to be giving just as much effort to hit every note as he did nearly 40 years ago and he can still sing well. Also, he has now reached an age where his dress sense actually works for him.
Ian is hit or miss now. Saw him in 2005, pretty good, 2017, not so much. Graham still let's it rip pretty good, in all fairness Graham sings in a lower range than Gillian, but it's served him well.
I was surprised how many albums Gillian's done. That and the partying. At one point I'd say Gillian was up there with Freddy Mercury and Dio. better than Plant. That was hard to say. Honestly think Grahams a hack. Lost in hollywood was the only song only Decent song on this ALBUM . Difficult to Cure was better but not as good as the Dio era
I'm lucky I seen him in 1984 n was like who is this pink looking guy lol n his Guitar player throwing his guitar 10 feet in the air lol at a outdoors theater.. was waiting for Ted Nugent which was great to cause he had that great singer with I can't remember. But for 14 years old I got my ears defined for 3 days couldn't hear nothing n it was my first concert n I loved it💙💙💙💙
It's crazy how Graham took that chance with Rainbow to sing a genre he wasn't all that familiar with nor catered to beforehand to eventually fall in love and enjoy the whole Heavy Metal/Hard Rock scene and still continues to sing those songs... it's just those things where youll never know where life will take you if you just take that risk lol...
Held his own with Ritchie Blackmore in Rainbow and then ... the superb Yngwie Malsteen and Steve Vai in Alcatrazz. Awesome man - I doff my hat to Bonnet.
graham didnt like live performance, now you can see why he had vocal problems,,,,,, he gives it everything,,,,,, he sounds very quality now,,,,,,, unlike coverdale, paul dianno gave it everything and suffered,,,,,,,, well done graham superb,,,,,,, great band as well
‘Underground’ is the 5th solo album by English Hard Rock/ Heavy Metal Singer Graham Bonnet, originally released in 1997. ‘Underground’ reunites Bonnet with Danny Johnson, who previously performed with Bonnet in ALCATRAZZ. “Lost In Hollywood” is a re-recording of (a musically rockin’ song) Bonnet recorded during his tenure performing with Rainbow. ‘Underground’ was released 21 August 1997 on JVC & Victor Record Labels and it was produced by Pat Regan, Kevin Valentine & Danny Johnson. When this video performance/recording in Helsinki on 21.4.2016 On the Rocks/ Helsinki/ Finland was made, Graham was 69 years old and he can still ROCK just as hard as the rest of the best. What a great Vocalist! All the different bands he contributed to over the years- Magnanimous! THE MARBLES, ADRIENNE POSTA, GRAHAM BONNET, BILLY BEETHOVEN, PRETTY MAIDS, EDDIE HARDIN, THE MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP, ALCATRAZZ, IMPELLITTERI, RAINBOW, ANTHEM, STARDUST REVERIE, IAIN ASHLEY HERSEY, MOONSTONE PROJECT, AND THE GRAHAM BONNET BAND. What a Professional! The Members Of the Graham Bonnet Band in 1997 were: Graham Bonnet- Vocalist, Danny Johnson- Guitars, Pat Regan- Keyboards, Eric Gorfain- Violin, Kevin Valentine- Drums, Jamie Carter- Bass(“Lost in Hollywood”), Tony Franklin- Bass(They split up many of the songs between them) and Todd Jensen- Bass only on “The Wind Cries Mary.” “Lost in Hollywood” is track #10 on the album ‘Underground’ and was written by Ritchie Blackmore, Roger Glover, and Cozy Powell. The Members of The Graham Bonnet Band today are: Graham Bonnet- Vocals, Conrado Pesinato- Guitars, Beth-Ami Heavenstone- Bass, and Mark Zonder- Drums. They Rock and Bonnet’s vocals are awesome! 🎸😎🤘🏻
For those that think this is an Alcatrazz original, this song was recorded in 1979 when Graham Bonnet was in Rainbow, having taken over from Ronnie James Dio. The guitar solo more or less matches Ritchie Blackmore's solo.
Saw him at "The Main Act" which was a tiny little club in Lynn Massachusetts. 1980. I couldn't believe Rainbow would even play such a tiny little club. When I walked in, I saw Cozy's drums set and was amazed. A group called "The Neighborhoods" opened.
Graham, if you're reading this remember the round trip with you, Gary and me up to the cow palace when you opened for Stryper? Excellent performance by the way!
The best singer ever, to sing like this in 2018., he is the only one who can, the institution, but all the band is increadable, like Rainbow 4 decades ago!
He's not that well known and underrated but I've always liked him. He has quite a high male voice for this style of music but it sounds good. It carries well over all the other band instruments, whic also play well. I think that singing with such a high male voice may becwhat has enabled to keep singing well even into his 70's because singing higher notes isn't as much strain on vocal cords as lower notes belted out loudly, as they do with hard rock/metal type music, which is very hard on vocal cords. High notesxsung with correct technique c are easy amd preserve the voice. The other reason he looks and sounds good still is because he has retained a good physique. It helps one look good moving and singing on stage and also helps him sing well, without huffing and puffing, panting, running out of breath or power etc.
He's 69 years old and still has one of the most powerful voices in rock and can still nail it! Saw him in 1980 with Rainbow and been a fan ever since.
well said Dave, indeed he has,,,,, he was always worried about his voice, he didnt need to its superb
A vocal belter who bellows beyond belief.
Agreed, I saw him with Rainbow in Fresno,CA in '80 also. Unreal vocals.
A great self thought voice. Magnificent ! 👏
And this piece is fabulous. Almost makes you cry if getting in the mood of it.
Wow what a voice.... After all these years
Graham Bonnet was the best Rainbow singer. Period.
Graham seems to be giving just as much effort to hit every note as he did nearly 40 years ago and he can still sing well. Also, he has now reached an age where his dress sense actually works for him.
god damn...this stuff is not easy to sing...he's killing it. Thank you Graham for a lifetime of awesome music....we love you!!!
i always said this guy is so underated what a powerhouse and here he is killing it still!!!!!!!!!!
Graham you are a real badass, I wish to live 200 years
G. Bonnet, nowadays, sings better than the most part of succeful young singers. Long Live G. Bonnet.
Well said Mister, greetings from Argentina. 🤘
Outstanding voice unbelievable
wow, he still got it, such an amazing singer,
What a voice.
1 of my all time favorites...Graham goes AllOut, true Rocker, from the heart...go ole boy, Belt it out
wow...graham sounds good...kudos to one of the best hard rock vocalists of all time...lead player does a respectable blackmore feel impression...
i wish he would wear the white jacket
His voice still stands up today even at 70, unlike Ian Gillan, who I think has lost his voice
....and the poor Robert Plant.
Ian is hit or miss now. Saw him in 2005, pretty good, 2017, not so much. Graham still let's it rip pretty good, in all fairness Graham sings in a lower range than Gillian, but it's served him well.
Ian can still do most of it, but not consistently on long tours. Overall, not bad for 70 - odd though.
OMG, that last DP album with Gillan was beyond terrible. The Graham Bonnet Band's 2022 album is right now my album of the year.
You can see in Grahams face he knows he's nailing it, so great!
Bad Boots Its like he owes crowds all over the world some nailed notes, ya know. About time if you ask me...
Graham Bonnet great!
from JAPAN
...I can't picture anyone else more charismatic to take the guitar solo other than Yngwie. Such is his aura!
I'm lucky I seen him in 1984 n was like who is this pink looking guy lol n his Guitar player throwing his guitar 10 feet in the air lol at a outdoors theater.. was waiting for Ted Nugent which was great to cause he had that great singer with I can't remember.
