As always, thanks for the great video. F4 and Alt +Down Arrow are very useful. I believe there are many users who don't know about these. Many often I use Alt + Down arrow on a cell to get a peek on the unique values in the active column. Unfortunately it will show only text values in the column
Thanks for sharing, Chandoo. Very informative and insightful, as usual. I was unaware of some of these shortcuts. 👏 How come I am seeing this video after a year after it was created, I wonder. 🤔
Thank you so much for this shortcut video, could you please also tell, what is the shortcut to remove only the last applied filter. For example, if I have applied a couple of filters in the table but instead of removing last applied filter using mouse, is it feasible to remove last applied filter using Keyboard.
Hi Bharti... Thanks for your comment. I will be adding videos on Excel / Power BI / Data topics as time permits. For generic advice watch other videos on my data analysis series - ua-cam.com/video/gVr9f1GJdZc/v-deo.html
@chandoo I rarely use tables and just use formulas on the data without making it a table. What are the key advantages and disadvantages between just using the source data and turning the data into a table with regards to formulas and graphs?
Hi PH... I show some of the benefits of tables at the start of the video. For me the biggest things are, 1) structural references, so your formulas feel natural 2) linked graphs auto update when you add / change data 3) making and updating pivots on tables is easy 4) tables make it easy for you to connect other tables with data model feature 5) you need tables to clean-up or transform data in Power Query 6) tables are how power query outputs the data 7) formatting and maintaining them is a breeze See this page for some more on tables - chandoo.org/wp/data-tables/
Hi Chundoo, I have one cell with date then number then date then number... I want to sum the row and exclude the date from the sum i.e Col. A $ value , Col B date, Col C $ Value, Col D Date.. and so on so forth... the last col should only show sum of $ value and not sum of date (as excel consider date also as a number). I don't want to use helping cell... :)
To Chandoo and/or the community at large, I have a question, most probably basic one. how can I insert a table in a populated data array from any function. I get #spill error whenever I try. P.S. thanks for the great content!
Question: To make aa table, we use Ctrl+T, but if I want to remove the table and keep the data in just tabular row form. Then how we do that? Thank you Chandoo. Sorry, I asked so many questions. Hehe
good evening sir, I tried ctrl+E shortcut but in some words its not applicable like in word like Metro Train it came MO instead of MT, can you please tell me why its coming like this?
Hmm.. sounds like some other program (outside Excel?) has mapped that key or you are not _really_ pressing the ALT F11. In many keyboards function keys are often combined with other keys and you may need to hold down a FN key to activate them.
Great job I have a problem and I can't find a solution for it, so I ask you to help solve it I want to make a debt aging report from the daily restrictions, meaning that it is the result of recording the day’s entries and the date debt. The first conditions are that each customer has a specific number of grace days, meaning he can have 60 grace days and it can be 90 days, and so on. The second condition for each customer is a specific value of invoices, meaning, for example The maximum limit is 60 thousand and the next one is 100 thousand and so on I'm so sorry for the long wait, and I hope you'll allow and appreciate me 🌹
You are welcome Mahmoud. Sorry but your question is too specific. I am not sure how to answer it here. I suggest looking for information on "debt aging report" and customizing what you find. All the best.

Yeah, that is why I included them. Good point about the ALT+Down not working with numbers.

Hi sir
Could you please make a video on how to make/analyze huge sale data given from company
Shame for forgetting about "F12" and "Ctrl+A" :). Rest is Great, thanks! "F4" was real surprise for me.
CTRL A is mentioned at 2:33
Most people know SAVE and SAVE AS, so I omitted them, but good suggestion.
Using excel for many years and first time with the function of F4 😳
Never too late...
wonderful 😘
Please also explain how to upload picture in excel sheet in a link form
Thanks

P.S. thanks for the great content!
Hi kindly share the short cut for dd-mm-yyyy formate
There are no individual shortcuts like that in Excel. You can use CTRL+1 to open the format screen and apply the format from there.
Question: To make aa table, we use Ctrl+T, but if I want to remove the table and keep the data in just tabular row form. Then how we do that? Thank you Chandoo.
Sorry, I asked so many questions. Hehe
Right click on table and change it in range

What if i do not have page fown and up, how to toggle the sheets

👍
Did Ctrl Shift 3 get removed?
Don't think so. Sometimes same shortcut might be used by other software.
by default it changes the format as dd-mmm-yy but i want to have dd-mmm-yyyy with (CTRL + SHIFT + 3) short key. is it possible?
Change windows date settings and it will show that way
I am not aware of any options. Did you try what Abhi said below. Let us know if it works.

@Chandoo I can't get Alt + F11 to open VBE. Any ideas why? I'm just use to that but using Alt,L,V is just longer. Thoughts?
Hmm.. sounds like some other program (outside Excel?) has mapped that key or you are not _really_ pressing the ALT F11. In many keyboards function keys are often combined with other keys and you may need to hold down a FN key to activate them.

relative formulas in table (for YTD calcs) can cause problems. I suggest using Power Query to add them.
