Coach Mike T stayed committed to 🇨🇦 almost until all the wheels fell off. He’s gonna make the decision on his terms and in his timing. I kinda like that strategy tbh with you.
Justin Fields can pass, he can run, and the offense can run the ball, all with success. I'll watch what they do. Thank you DK and Chris. Man their defense is awesome too.

How about a shout out to Chris Boswell for the knuckleball kickoff that pinned the Chargers back around the 10 and led to the ensuing carnage. The onfield overhead camera was positioned right behind him and you could see how perfect it was.
I agree with Mike Tomlin. Keeps Fields concentrated and Wilson hoping. What’s wrong with this?
Tomlin has a certain level of contempt for the media, and by extension, the fans. I say this with no malice and as a lifetime lover of the Steelers.
He’s just keeping other teams guessing.

Wilson is dressing to play… Cam Newton was commenting about this in an interview, saying that in reality it is Fields’ position. Two things… Fields is the starting quarterback; #1, and he is the $#!+; #2.
Would like to see more designed runs for Justin. I think that's a weapon we are neglecting.

I'm so happy with our QB situation this year. And to think that if Kenny hadn't decided to throw a hissy fit, it would be him instead of Fields we'd be watching right now. I just shuddered thinking about it
I don't get the rush to name Fields the starter. I understand the excitement about Fields potentially being the future, but we have never seen Russ play in a Steelers uniform. What if he plays great? What if he's the best quarterback to get the team through the tough part of the schedule? What if he's the QB to get the 1st playoff win in 7 years while Watt and Heyward are here? Everything is great when the team is winning, but Tomlin is being smart not emotional.
I mean, it's not like Fields is just getting them through these games. He was really good Sunday.
I don't think benching a 26 year old with elite arm talent, athleticism, & for whom the game is finally slowing down for - for a 35 year old with recurring injury problems & a style that would mesh much better with more WR talent is a very good idea.

Tomlin is too experienced to overreact to a 3 game winning streak. He'll ride the hot hand so long as it remains hot. Once it isn't, he'll trust the experienced vet who has a tendency to have 30 touchdowns per season when healthy.

Thank you, DK! Tomlin stubborn! He is very honest as he says with players, yet I think he can't change his word to Russ about coming here as a starter. Hope it doesn't hurt Fields or team performance. Fields cannot be yanked now. This reminds me of Pickett being named captain.
I wasn't anti kenny pickett, but he did us a huge favor by asking for that trade. Fields throws the ball down the field 30 yards easier than Kenny did 10.
Justin Fields is a far more dangerous runner when pass plays &/or protection breaks down than in designed runs.
Looks like Authur Smith has figured that out & only calling pass plays & RPOs for Fields to allow the big Justin Fields runs to happen organically.
DK- you and I both know that stubbornness is always a cover for something else. Usually something like fear. Could it be that the coach just doesn't know what to do and so he plays the stubborn card? He is human, after all.

I was not a Justin Fields fan but I was wrong, he has earned the right to be named the starter...he's already the leader of the offense. Tomlin's actions are JV.

Not naming Justin the starter keeps him on his toes. If he is named the starter, we don’t know if he will get comfortable. Tomlin hates comfort. And we need JF2 to play like he’s got a 🔥 under his backside. We all know he will be the starter short of a very poor performance this week in Indi. It’s all good. Tomlin is playing the game, he knows what he is doing…. Have faith and patience. Go Steelers!!
I see one or two views. Coach may feel it’s inappropriate to announce during an injury. The other is that maybe the coaches are bringing him along slowly and waiting to certain consistencies before fully trusting him. The coaches have the inside knowledge

As a fan,recent history suggests good qb play only lasts 3 games. I feel like I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop. I hope fields just continues to get better

Anyone ever stop to think that Russ may well be excited to help resurrect Fields’ career? He is a team guy, like it or lump it.
There are commentators that are saying Justin is playing well because Arthur has dumbed down the offense. I infatically disagree! He’s releasing the ball quicker going through his progressions,& not deer in the headlights! I ain’t saying he has arrived, BUT… he’s showing he’s coachable, and under Arthur Smith a MUCH improved QB in 3 games. Is it possible for more improvement? If so, he could be the guy. I believe Tomlin should name him the starter for the sake of the team not the media & us fans

I think the stubborn thing is one thing I strongly dislike about Tomlin the most. The refusal to start Rudolph until HE was desperate enough to do so... the wasting of players careers by keeping Canada for as long as he did.... refusing to have a guy upstairs help out to say yay or nay to throwing the red flag or time management.... and this stubbornness with Fields. So what you have Wilson, things change and it has here. It's a power trip game with this guy. He has to show who is in control even though we all see the obvious. His press conferences are getting so old & tired. It's amazes me that the press actually still shows up for them. Why? We know all the catch phrases, script and rhetoric.
Not mad at the decision. All of this is a methodical plan by Tomlin. Trust in our head coach, there isn't any drama going on in the locker room about the QB situation.

Tomlin can afford to wait on stating the obvious that Fields is the starting quarterback now and moving forward. In one respect he is being true to his word that Russ is in the pole position and the fact that he is hurt, why change anything. My gut is that he is all in on Fields. He just doesn’t want unnecessary drama 😂
Why is it that we get so enamored by what Coach T doesn’t say? Why would a coach NOT withhold information from the public as long as he can as to not give competitive information. This day of media frenzy, we think that we are entitled to information that’s not our business!

I think there is no need to proclaim him QB1 right now. Why? The coaches know what they want. The players are fine with it. The ones that are running headless are the fans and some media. That’s why Tomlin is a coach. That’s his job. All this hoopla is the media and the fans. And none of them will run the team. Tomlin won’t make decisions based on what fans or media “think” should be done. That’s why he has been successful. This fan/media hysteria is becoming boring. Fields is doing very good (not great) and he keeps improving, but he is not there yet. He still needs to prove himself longer. Let’s see how he handles and recovers from a loss and that might be the time to make an announcement. I’m rooting for him but don’t jump the gun. Let’s keep analyzing his progress. I’m looking forward for some real adversity. That’s how the real ones are tested successfully. Ask the Big Ben! Blessings!

You're trying to play checkers (with Tomlin's decisions). Tomlin is winning the chess match. He's taking pressure OFF of Fields by not having Fields deal with the pressures from the media and pundits... if Fields was the named starter. So, Tomlin is deliberately being a distraction (with the media) while Fields can focus on winning.
Keeping the heat on Justin by not giving him the title of Qb 1 is a strategy I think Tomlin is using to let Justin know you can be replaced if you don’t perform to the STANDARD. Let the coach coach and continue to do a great job with our boys, this conversation is boring 😂😂😂

Tomlin has nothing to gain by naming Fields a starter. He creates a problem by doing so. He'd be a horrible leader and manager to pronounce something to appease the press and fans. If you don't understand this you were probably never in a similar leadership position or your business benefits from the discussion.
Wilson is still the starter, that’s why. When Wilson is cleared, he will play.
Justin has 2 passing TD's in 3 games. He's managed the games well but he is not producing points. One thing Mike T stated was the offense has to score more points this year.
except for the first quarter of the first game, I can't remember seeing him throw ONE bad ball, IMHO he is WAY more talented of a runner than Lamar Jackson & he has one of the best arms in the NFL

This offense has been ok. Effective enough given the opponents thus far. This defense IS winning games. Tomlin wants Russell Wilson to be the starter because he's a veteran, and he promised him he would start. Hopefully, Justin Fields goes somewhere he is appreciated.

I can't - and don't want to understand - the obsession with such a minor point. This is a media popcorn fart in a hurricane. Like the other 21 positions, if a QB plays well and wins, he will keep starting. If the entire team is playing well except for the QB, then the struggling QB should feel internal pressure. Russ can’t do everything that Justin can do when he’s healthy. I have a bad feeling that Tomlin is going to pull JW and put RW in when he gets healthy….just because Tomlin has said that Russ is QB1…. Tomlins ego is why we don’t have Mason anymore, he couldn’t stand that he was wrong about the QB the whole time, so he traded his problem away…. I lost a lot of respect for him because of this.

I don’t understand why there’s a big deal being made about this?? If Russell comes back and practices and has a 100% qb rating and looks fantastic! No rust etc, then why not consider making the change?? I doubt that’s going to happen so I’m sure fields will be the guy! And I’m sure he’s not looking over his shoulder… I think the team just wants to win… who gives us the best chance? That’s who we go with once there’s no more question of health.
Lets not be dramatic if you know Tomlin then you know he’s going to be stubborn but in the back of his mind he knows and he keeps note.
It’s this simple. Tomlin has his ways. He said he learned from experience how to handle these things so must have gotten burned before. He also can’t just flip on his initial declaration of QB1. Maybe he’s keeping a fire under Justin. Who knows. It’s not a perfect science but it is frustrating as a fan.

Can everyone stop trying to tell the headcoach what to do and how to do it? He's not telling you what to write, (not write), report or (not report). You guys go too far and I don't blame coach for keeping as much away from the media as possible.
