Ernst Hutter als Posaunist - toller Musiker !!!
Very intriguing version. Thanks.
Mike Myers in all his glory once said after listening to this theme song, "Shagadelic baby!"
Kompliment an die ganze SWR Big Band, super gespielt super aufgenommen. Gruß an alle Kollegen, besonders an Ernst Hutter. Euer Fan Willy Berg

Nice! It has a funky ring to it in this arrangement :)
Glad you like it!

show de bola esse arranjo
5/4 is such a difficult time to play in if the original tune is 3/4 or 4/4. You always have to think about adding one beat or subtracting one beat. LOL
pretty cool
not 100% sure its meant to be in 5/4
still sounded great
Not sure about the purpose of a 5/4, except being different for difference sake. Can't see any benefit for the composition itself.
Bass tabs?
LOL, it's just a blues (Bb | F Ab | Bb | F Ab | Eb | Bb Db | Eb | Bb Db | Bb | F Ab | Bb | F Ab | F | C F | Eb | Bb Eb| Bb | F Bb | F | F) I divided each bar in 1, 2 3 | 4, 5 like that
it sounds like fat birds singing
No sorry, I'm not liking this 5/4 vibe, it loses too much in translation. It sounds a bit too 'loungy' for my tastes. Please revert to the original time signature-far better.
Lawrie Have you heard of Take Five by Dave Brubeck? That’s a great 5/4 song.
Mr. Cub Fan 415 Agreed and it was written in 5/4 and works in 5/4. Just like the original theme to Mission: Impossible by Lalo Schifrin, again written in 5/4, it would struggle in anything else. I'm up for any new take on great tunes but for me, you can't beat the originals. A bit like giving the Mona Lisa a nose job; you know it's the Mona Lisa, but she wouldn't look the same. Good luck, but in this case, it's not for me.
I'm sorry, but this is an awful and unnecessary interpretation of Quincy Jones' original.
An interesting experiment though.
