Both engines have durability ptoblems but the PW more so than Leap. And both had contaminated powder metal problems but Leap caught it before PW. Leap will be incorporating design improvements this year to improve durability and On Wing Time. PW is introducing the GTF Advantage in 2024 which is said to have 1 percent less fuel burn, more thrust, run a little cooler and much better Time On Wing. Hopefully both manufacturers have thing sorted out now.
PW1100G often has equipment failures and requires maintenance. Recently, Vietnamese airlines🇻🇳 had to stop operating 44 types of A321 neo aircraft to hand over to Pratt & Whitney for inspection. Causes huge economic damage
CFM Leap 1A > PW1100G. Another airport in the region where you can see it is MNL🇵🇭 where Leap X comes in from OZ ICN🇰🇷 CX HKG🇭🇰 Air Asia KUL🇲🇾 MU PVG🇨🇳 local carriers PW1100G 5J and PR RP-C9930-RP-C9938 🇵🇭. The CI A321-271N has a maintenance issue with the PW1100G while CX A321-251N doesn't isn't affected by the PW1100G issue
In terms of reliability yes however in terms of fuel efficiency, the PW1000G is better, especially when considering A321XLRs powered by PW1133G, for a long haul flight.
@@ramyfares9099 Regarding fuel efficiency and economics do you have a source where I can find (non-manufacturer) data on that? Thank you! Or how do you know PW is better.
Pratt because it’s actually an innovative engine unliked the maxed out, hot running LEAP
PE1130G is indeed an innovative new generation engine, and its operating sound is also very unique.
Everyone thinks the leap is louder and is better but the p&w will make you sleep well lol.
PW GTF all the way, because it's ear friendly. WHALE Engine roar!!!
Well done! This is the best comparison video out there.
Wow, thanks!

Cathay Pacific is A321-251NX. That means it is A321LR. China Airlines is A321-271NX. That means it is A321neo ACF
The China's A321neo has 4 window exit near the wing while Cathay's A321neo has 2 window exit near the wing.
Wow! Well clear the PW are leader. Great!
Sure is!!

Mostly due to the powdered metal issue unfortunately.

PW1100G sounds better
PW is better that CFM
PW1100G > LEAP-1A
Nice Vídeo ✈✈✈✈🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷👌👌👌
Thx for watching!!😁😁😁

The old engines are having the problems.
LEAP 1A is more iconic in my opinion
Beautiful
Thank you for watching and cheers!!
CFM > PW here
The PW1100G introduces many new technologies, but also has many problems.
The LEAP is relatively more stable.
@@HunterHearstHelmsley used to but after updates it was all sorted out already...
P&W
Based on what? Who makes more noise?
PW is less noisy while giving ~20% more beans(kN) of continuous max thrust, at a lower fuel consumption.
@@aliancemd PW is not noticeably quieter, we are talking about fractions of a decibel here
A321LR only have 2 wing exit
0:53 PW1000G? Look carefully
0:53 it's LEAP-1A (Cathay Pacific A321neo), not PW1100G (China Airlines A321neo).
Look at the nozzle of both engines, it is so small
0:53 and 1:32
Two different exit configs (wow)
As far as I know, the A320neo series has many configurations for exit.
PW1100g has more thrust
LEAP 1A is better
