thanks for this comment on gary.I'm not a guitar player but for me gary was the best to "play" with calvin.I'll be very happy to have some news about him.when I organise a new concert with calvin russell(two years later),calvin says me that gary was in france but i don't know if he still plays guitar in a band.

Hey brother. Gary is still alive but unfortunately suffered from a brain tumor and cancer. Got to play with him some a couple months back. We had to walk him around cause he can't see very well but .... when we sat him down and put a guitar in his hand, he's still Gary Craft.
Yea...me too.... Gary is one of my favorites, as a picker and a man.
God bless you brother and thanks for your kind words of Gary.

Great, please post more of Calvin. I am a great fan of his. Back in Switzerland I used to go often to his concerts. Now that I am living in the States, I haven't seen him for a long while.

Hey, i saw Cary when I was about 11 years (now 36...) old in Belgium with Calvin. It was one of my first concerts with my parents. I got his guitar pick. Stil got it... still have beautiful memories of the concert and their music! Love them...

@88ripitup - That's great news! Gary was my guitar teach for a while when I was about 15 or so. I lived north of Austin in Georgetown and met him through some mutual friends. He was such a cool guy. He was playing a paisley James Burton tele at the time. I was sad to hear about his arthritis. I hope he continues to do better. Unfortunately, I never got to see a Calvin Russel show, but I remember Gary telling me all about his gigs and tours in Europe. :)

Did Gary Craft live in Georgetown Tx for a while? I think I took guitar lessons from him.

*SO COOL!!!* I'm pretty sure that came from Austin Access TV, or ACTV as it prolly was called back then.. Thanks for posting. Please post any and all Calvin Russell you may have or have access too. I'm a big fan. I saw him once live at some ranch in south Austin at a concert called Woodshock 2. What an amazing Singer/Songwriter/Guitarist he was!
    R.I.P. Calvin.

No, I personally filmed this concert in France (Perros-Guirec, Brittany) in 1993.
      An incredible memory.

Hello everyone. I am Gary's daughter Nicole. He is/was a gifted guitarist and musician...... but..... his "legacy" ends there. He is/was an extremely abusive person, both mentally and physically. I will say no more...... RIP Calvin.
