Painted SD60M Duo on Wisconsin & Southern’s T-001

- On January 1st, 2024, I caught both Wisconsin & Southern painted SD60Ms paired up on T-001, the nightly freight from BRC Clearing to Janesville. WSOR only has 2 of their ex-Union Pacific SD60Ms painted in red and white, so catching them together was a nice surprise. I managed to get down to Rondout just in time to see them meeting a Metra inbound and departing. Not a bad first catch for 2024!

I love the sound of those SD60Ms taking off from a dead stop. It was a sure win for Watco to purchase a bunch of the SD60Ms from Union Pacific. Maybe at some point will see them DPU trains with these, now that would be cool!
I miss the SD40s that used to inhabit this job, but the SD60Ms aren’t bad when they’re painted up in red and white! I don’t think they’re DPU capable however.

Oh those are beautiful! I frequently catch T-001 between Grayslake and Fox Lake when I'm out and about. I live in Hainesville, so i can easily hear both T-001 and T-002 most nights (they have a distinct sound). I'll have to keep an eye out for these, though.
I saw about 30 empty DODX flatcars on T-001 a few weeks ago. Any ideas?
Definitely be on the lookout! The DODX flat cars go up to Oshkosh to be loaded with military vehicles.
