This game had 1095 total yards of offense. The famous ATL/PIT 2002 tie game had 1092 yards of offense, but keep in mind that game had 15 minutes of overtime. This game exceeded that in regulation!
Now that was a fun game to rewatch the highlights of. Peyton in the second half once he got going was so fun. Tony Gonzalez hauling in big catches throughout. Priest Holmes and Dante Hall on the all-time underrated teams, lol.
Another gem from 2004. Twas a time when cornrows, du-rags, and big chains were all the rage. Air Force Ones, velour suits, and spinning rims were desirable to the nth degree. Anyway, this rematch lived up to the hype from the 2003 divisional round less than a year earlier. Chiefs got their revenge. 2002 to 2005 is still my favorite Chiefs offense.
Football in this era was simply the best Mix of run and pass and play action and great running backs still and receivers still got off! Football ain’t the same no more man… love football to death but this 00s era just was different
What a Halloween doubleheader Sunday for CBS- this offensive showcase and Pats/Steelers in the late afternoon (a game that Throwback uploaded last week)
Maybe I’m just getting old but I’d rather watch these type of offensives than the modern ones. Even the pass happy teams back then still had a run game.
Colts went 12-4 this year but Brady and Belichick got them in the divisional round. I'm biased as hell but man the Peyton era teams were so much fun to watch.
@@Mokolo2019 whoa easy killer while I think that Brady is better than Manning saying Manning is trash when he won 5 MVPs and holds the single season touchdown record at 55 is simply not true
Too bad KC didn't have a defense that year. They will live with the 75 bills, 2010 chargers, and 86 bengals as teams with great offense to miss the playoffs
That was a fun time to be a Chiefs fan. SO many good players. Green incredibly underrated at QB, Priest the Beast at RB, the GOAT Gonzalez at TE, The Human Joystick and the All-World offensive line. Such a fun team to watch!
What about now when you won Super Bowls? Imagine if Patrick Maholmes had those advantages! These current Chiefs do have Travis Kelce, the second coming of Tony.
5 touchdowns over 450 yards passing and they'll still say it's Peyton Manning's fault that the Colts loss but I've seen games where Tom Brady will throw three interceptions less than 200 yards and they'll say the defense played poorly and gave up less than 20 points
This was the superbowl for the 2004 Chiefs. Manning ripped our hearts out in the playoffs the year before. Damn near did it again here. The guy had no respect for KC...ever.
The 2000s Chiefs were so underrated and has such talented players on their team, too bad they never had a good coaching staff or a good Qb to make them a contender
Priest Holmes was the closest thing I've seen to prime Terrell Davis as a running back. I wouldn't say he's a Hall of Famer because Davis is the greatest post season RB in history, and that pushes him over the top, to me. But Holmes' prime 45 games were absolutely astonishing.
We should’ve at least brought the Colts into OT the previous playoff game, but Priest Holmes, after like a 60 yard run, fumbled the ball and the Colts recovered…. But this did feel good knowing that we knew we could beat them…
Loved how the announcers called out the Pats for getting away with shady play 😅 such facts …. Not even a Colts fan and they were raped that whole 03 playoff game. Refs were like… nahhhh it’s legit .. 😏
Hey NFL Throwback Do you take requests. If so, can you do Jets Bills Week 1 2002. The only game where the game ended with a kick return on the kickoff in OT
Peyton played better than the 03 divisional matchup (was at that game too). The 2nd half, he was lights out. We learned that no lead was ever safe from Peyton
Damn man.....these 04 Chiefs put up numbers though. Priest would've been mvp if he didn't get hurt that year. Plus, they beat the brakes off the Falcons that year too lol. I think they had like 8 rushing td's in that game. NFL Throwback......where you at with that game?? Or the Texans and Vikings from that year? 2004 was lit!!!
I can only hope that the Colts turn it around and beat the Chiefs. They have done it many times. Jacoby beat Mahomes in the regular season, Colts dislocated Mahomes kneecap and won the game. Luck lost in the playoffs. One can only hope this Colts team got it together this week.
Usually when Manning throws 5 Touchdowns he wins the game! 🙄 Trent Fucking Green?!? Yeah I guess too much Holmes and play action pass doomed the Colts D!
Poor Toney Gonzales Patrick Mahomes had to show up after he retired, so now Travis Kelce gets the benefits of a great quarterback 😂😂😂. But still Toney is the goat tight end.

@@AmirKhan-yv8jm They've been great. Struggled a bit in 2023 though. Their defense helped them out big time.

Possibly the best O-line in NFL history right there
Imagine if Patrick Maholmes had that O-line and a prime Priest Holmes & Larry Johnson!
The Chiefs get a small measure of revenge for the previous season’s playoff defeat to the Colts.
This matchup was an upset, to say the least

Colts own the chiefs we have since the 90s 😂

Peyton Manning had 472 passing yards and 5 tds with only 22 mins for of TOP.
Let that sink in.
This is my first time watching this game lol missed it at the time. Those 2003-04 chiefs had great offenses, defense just couldn’t get it done
How does it compare to the current Patrick Maholmes led offense!
This game exceeded the no punt game in the playoffs the year before
The AFC in the early to mid 2000's was peak football to me
These chiefs teams had elite offensive line and fullback play with Willie roaf and Tony Richardson was underrated fullback and will shields and waters

The funny thing is that this Chiefs team scored 483 points and a PD of +48 yet finished without a playoff appearance and with a losing record.
All because their defense was ass
And also because of bad luck and turnovers lol!
This was fun to be at live on Halloween

hilarious that the announcer in 2004 is talking about the Patriots receiving favoritism. That fact lasted 2 decades.
