So I just brought home a 4 shaft Saori, yesterday…..And now that I have seen this video, you have opened up a new set of avenues for me… Thank you very much!
Love your four shaft project. I have a 4 harness Saori loom, and I love messing around with different structures in a Saori way. I wish they would start to produce the 4 shaft kits again.
omg this is so beautiful. i love how your personality is reflected in your work...i have binge watched all ur vids and get so much inspiration from just the vibe of your videos! tysm for sharing your adventures!
All those colors make me happy too! I love how intuitive your process appears. You did a great job explaining. I think the infinite variety of choices in weaving would be paralyzing for me, so I am inspired by your ability to just wing it. Your finished piece of fabric is gorgeous and look forward to seeing what you do with it. Have a great school year!
It is such a fun fabric! I love the texture and details the twill adds, and I love that you added the eyelash yarn, such a fun pop of whimsy. I love your channel and I love your attitude towards creating. Thanks for the hours of entertainment and inspiration!
I’m very excited to take a weaving class for the first time this weekend. This video was the perfect kind of background explanation I’d been unconsciously looking for leading up to it.
Oh Andrea you are so lucky to have been able to weave on the four shaft Saori loom! My local Sairi stockist here in UK says the four shaft extensions have been discontinued 😔
I’m just understanding a rigid heddle loom, so the Saori loom with multiple harnesses is way out of my brain. Maybe one day I’ll do something more complicated, but for now I’ll enjoy you exploring all the different looms in your world. Fun share. Thank you.
I was going ask about the loom also too bad they don’t make it any more! You explained how the harnesses work perfectly- I actually understand it more now. What type of warping board it that? I don’t have any wall space and that would be great for me. Thank you for all the videos- they help get my creative juices flowing!
Your fabric will be a wonderful memento of your time in San Diego. I too wish Saori would start producing the four shaft looms again because I'd get one in a heartbeat. Have you ever tried a warp faced weave on your loom?
Thank you so much 🥰 I agree, they’re really wonderful looms! I haven’t done warp-faced weaves on my Saori, but as soon as I have time to put my hand-dyed warp on the loom (from my most recent San Diego vlog) I want to give it a try!!
Thank you so much! 🥰 there are extra pedals so you can tie the harnesses up in various ways. For my project, I just tied harness 1 to pedal 1, harness 2 to pedal 2, etc. but I could have combined harnesses (ex: pedal 1 is attached to harnesses 1 and 3) for weaving more complicated patterns! It basically just gives you more options for customizing the weaving experience.
@@AndreaAlexander Thank you. I’m fairly new to weaving and my Saori WX60 has 2 heddles/pedals so trying to understand what extra harnesses would being to my weaving :)
Love your enthusiasm. Actually your technique takes the stress out of four harness- there are so many rules and “right” ways of doing things when approaching 4 harness twill. This way seems more fun.
Andrea. I have my Saori loom dressed. Would/could you do a video that shows how the back floor roller should work to add warp to the front for weaving. I can't find videos. I tried contacting Saori and get no results. thank you for your time and hopefully a better video of this process. You would make a good Saori weaver instructor and having a english speaking teacher would be nice. thanks.
What is the model name of the 4 shaft saori loom you're using? For a while now I've been trying to find multi shaft options on Saori looms with little to no luck. Thanks!
I can't seem to find/remember the name of this model, and unfortunately, the SAORI brand no longer produces the four-harness looms 😔As I understand it, the only way to get this kind of loom is second-hand! I apologize 😢
@@AndreaAlexander okay, cool. I have read some blog posts and they write as if saori weaving is a different style of weaving altogether, but as I've watched your videos it seems pretty comparable to what I've been learning in my classes. Though I did order some of the warp rods you use from an Etsy shop, which look so much easier than tying on the warp in bundles.
I was watching on my iPad. Now that I'm on my desktop, I attempted to subscribe but saw I am already subscribed. Am I supposed to get notices when you post a new "show?" I haven't been getting notifications of any kind and had to hunt you up on You Tube. Donna (I'm in Jill's Saori group on Ravelry.)@@AndreaAlexander

Thank you!! It's such a fantastic loom! I wish I had the space in my apartment for one 😂
I am also an odd one and upgrade to 4 shafts Saori early this year … it opens new dimensions and very enjoy the Saori loom w 4 shafts
I agree!! It’s so much fun 😃💕
Love your free-spirited approach to all your projects!

That's the best explanation of multi-shaft looms I've ever heard.
Beautiful weaving. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you, that is so kind of you!! 🥰
Amazing video, loved seeing the combo between free weaving and multi harness shafts… thank you for sharing!

They’re tricky to come by, but sometimes you can find them used from people selling theirs 😅

My fave UA-cam personality! I watch all your work and adventures. You are SO INSPIRING!
Oh my gosh, you are so kind!! 🥹❤️❤️❤️
Aaaaah that's so beautiful! Loved seeing all the diagonal stripes come to life!
Thank you so much 🥹❤️
That was great! Thanks for taking us along and showing your process!
Thank you for this video! Going to work on getting my 4 harness conversion kit set up.
Fantastic video. Thanks so much for sharing. I'd love to try a multi harness loom one day.
Thank you so much! They're challenging but a whole lot of fun, I definitely recommend it 🥰
I loved all of the details! Looking forward to more videos.
Thank you so much! 🥰
Love how this fabric turned out!
Thank you!! 🥰

Wonderful vid!
Came out so colorful and fun! 👍👍👍
Thank you!! 😘
Thank you for that! I LOVE that warping board & stand. Where did that come from?
this is so dope!

Perfeito ❤
Great video & love your final project ❤. I’m a little confused as to why there are four heddles but six peddles? You seemed to only be using 4… 🤔

Thank you so much!! 🥰 We spent so much time in school learning how to weave the "right" way... I was itching to mess around! 😂

@@AndreaAlexander That's too bad, thanks for looking into it!
How is a Saori 4 harness loom different from any other 4 harness looms? I have a Louet 4 harness table loom.
It’s practically the same, except that this loom folds and is compatible with Saori products like the pre-wound warps!

I don’t see a subscribe button. 😕
If you're watching this on your desktop, it's beneath the video player by my channel name! 🥰
