I'm also with Ken Lavigne: if Dan were in a full performance of the Phantom, I'd snag me a ticket straight away! His passion for music, and overall romantic nature -- even in his metal covers -- show up consistently, bringing us exactly how we imagine a seductive character like the Phantom to be. But as we've seen with his "Gethsemane" cover, he can bring both the show of anger and heartbreak we also see in the Phantom as the show progresses. A pity that POTO had to close for good, bc someone needed to ring Cameron Mackintosh and get him to hear Dan audition for the Phantom. I think he's at least as good as Ramin Karimloo. 😁😁

SUPERB ARTISTRY!!! Dan sings almost every word with a new color, and paints the Phantom into a whole new much darker more interesting story. He definitely added layers to the character that I've never seen or heard before. I believe he could rewrite the entire musical and make it into an epic rock opera.
This is easily my favorite non-metal cover of Dan. I performed this on my own wedding few weeks back (with German lyrics 😉 as I'm German ) for my wife as one of two songs with Dan's backing track as karaoke version. Every time I listen to Dan’s version of this, I hear another nuance. I appreciate how you seemed to almost get lost in the performance. Love, love, love. I have trouble pulling my eyes off Dan, but it was such a pleasure watching you watching him. And breathing along with him too and anticipating each phrase. What a treat. I love these theatrical scenes of Dan's - Gethsemane is another one, which I know you've reacted to. It's good to remember that Dan not only sings, but directs his own videos, figures out what he's going to wear and what he's going to do with his hair, figures out the placement of the cameras and lights, then records and edits it all on his own. He used to do all the mixing and mastering by himself too, but lately he can afford to send some of that out. As to your question, I'm a long-time classical music/opera fan, so I love the classic side of Dan. But I've discovered that it's fundamentally his voice and his artistry that I love, so now I welcome all of it. He just dropped another cover of Beauty and the Beast (on Minniva's channel), so I'm glad he's still doing some non-metal stuff. He even has an acoustics folder. Not every song has been metal-fied, let me tell ya. But when he does take a song out of its sleepy rut, he powers it up right . Some of his non- metal songs include, but not limited to: Beauty & the Beast (2 duets so far) I See Fire Loch Lomand Phantom of the Opera (several) More Than Words Nessum Dorma (which you've heard) Duets with beautiful singers like Rehn, Sarah, Alina,etc.. His seemingly endless variety is what I like the most about Dan. Thus far there is no genre of music that he has not been able to utterly conquer. A friend of mine showed me a Mongolian band called HU, and the song I guess if you want to call it a song that they did was well in Mongolian and it was some sort of a battle chant. It was kind of cool. I copied the link and put it in the comments of one of Dan's more recent performances and told him that I would love to see his version of this battle chant. It was really really cool. So from Opera to Broadway to musical theater to straight up musicals out of movies to heavy metal to pop rock and hopefully to Mongolian battle chants - I believe there is absolutely nothing that Dan cannot do absolutely spectacularly.

I discovered the cover of "Beauty and the Beast" about 20 hours ago. A masterpiece by Minniva and Dan, so beautiful.
Just found the Beauty and the Beast cover. Beautiful! I noticed that he doesn't over enunciate the words in it, which gave it a warmer feeling... if that makes sense?

Dan did a phenomenal job on this song. He stuck with the more traditional version but even if he hadn’t, and put a touch of metal into it he would’ve still nailed it because that’s what he does. Bravo Dan!

While I enjoy Dan Vascs Metal voice and the power it holds, his beautiful voice is showcased in classical songs like this and in ballads he also performs. This is one of my favorites of Dan's more mellow songs. What he does in this song is just beautiful to watch and hear. I am a music lover of many styles of music, so I enjoy a lot of Dan's work. In “The Phantom of the Opera” he plays a roguish arrogant Phantom and in “All I ask of You” he plays a Phantom in love. All three are phenomenal, but this one is my favourite! ❤️
If I am right he plays Raoul in "All I ask ouf you", the antagonist of the Phantom, not the Phantom.

Enjoyed your reaction…gave me goosebumps too. I really love Dan’s version of this song…he sings it as if he’s on stage as the phantom. Been listening to the soundtrack of Phantom of the Opera for 30 years, love it all! Dan does a collaboration on All I Ask which is also amazing.
His seemingly endless variety is what I like the most about Dan. Thus far there is no genre of music that he has not been able to utterly conquer.
A friend of mine showed me a Mongolian band called HU, and the song I guess if you want to call it a song that they did was well in Mongolian and it was some sort of a battle chant. It was kind of cool. I copied the link and put it in the comments of one of Dan's more recent performances and told him that I would love to see his version of this battle chant. It was really really cool.
So from Opera to Broadway to musical theater to straight up musicals out of movies to heavy metal to pop rock and hopefully to Mongolian battle chants - I believe there is absolutely nothing that Dan cannot do absolutely spectacularly.
I prefer Dan any way I can get him. He is fannnnntastic.

A "Shatneresque Flourish" was so classic and fitting a description for that part. Lol. Dan's a big Phantom of the Opera fan, especially the movie with Gerard Butler. Loved your reaction. This is one of my favorites by Dan. He nails this performance, but he usually does master whatever he attempts.
