The best I've seen has shoulders made of a dark grey/black version of the same fuzzy material as the rest instead of whatever pleather material was on the original. I think the pleather would probably wear out and crack really quickly, so maybe the fuzzy shoulders are better.

One of my top episodes of the series, possibly because my college major--indeed my main focus of study--was Communications; the study of how thought becomes language, is transmitted to the listener, and then is reinterpreted again into thought, almost inevitably with errors. The performance of the two Captains, particularly when Darmok's "word salad" becomes comprehensible, brings me to tears every time. of course, Picard learns enough to speak cogently to the Tamarians, and we have absorbed enough to follow his conversation. Thank you, Jen, you have made my day.

*This episode is LEGENDARY amongst professors and researchers in the field of linguistics, many of whom have praised it for depicting not only how difficult to translate lost languages to which we have now references to but also how different cultures think and how those differences can lead to misunderstanding even when we DO have comprehensive language basis. I can’t help each time I see this episode but to link it back to a scene in the episode **_The Ensigns of Command_** from season 3 when Picard and Troi discussed understanding an unknown language: Troi showed Picard a clear cup of coffee to Picard, said a word in Betazoid and asked him to tell her what she said and they together went through a plethora of words like “Coffee, drink, hot, glass, clear, etc” This episodes I feel like expended on that brief exchange from that episode and really spelled out those difficulties with the metaphor aspect.*
*On the other hand (just to be fair and accurate in depiction), this episode is also notorious amongst some Sci-Fi fans who loath it because because it is not “actiony” enough, some say; which is their way of saying that it is “too intellectual”. And while I can see how the “Starwarzian sci-fi fans” who look forward to “Pew-Pew-Pew” and “Whomm-Whomm, Bzioom-Khrrrsh” type of action might be disappointed, to me: This “intellectual” Sci-Fi stuff is not only what I’ve always looked for in Sci-Fi, but it is also PEAK STAR TREK as envisioned by Gene Roddenberry. The exploration of the human psyche over “…the exploration of stars and nebulae”!* ( 😉🤫 )

🔔 JEN @ 0:09 I was wondering why Stewart was wearing a jacket INSIDE the Enterprise.
Did Worf set the ship's thermostat to "Klingon Homeworld Cold" to cool his hotblooded nature?
Did Troi set it to cold to help fight off hot flashes that her mother Lwaxana had been experiencing when she was last aboard and it got frozen at that setting?
And if 'yes' to either of these questions, why was only Picard seemingly affected?
    Then the answer comes out:
The script called for Picard to be suddenly whisked away to an outdoor nature setting in which he would be in daytime and NIGHTTIME scenes. Stewart would be uncomfortably cold in those evidently, so just by pure coincidence he was VERY conveniently in a JACKET at the moment of kidnapping!
