- I finally did the tour of my boat some of you were looking for!
My 2018 SeaArk ProCat 200 with Monster Rod Holders, Minn Kota Ulterra, Hummingbird Helix 7, Monster Rod Holders, and a few custom modifications! Overall this is a very nice boat. I still miss my 17 foot Jet Boat.
Don't forget to 👍 the video and share it with friends! Thank you for watching!
I want to thank Okuma Fishing USA and Team Catfish Tackle for being partners with my channel! You may see their products throughout my video.
Feel free to ask me in the comments below about the fishing gear I use! If you are interested in any of my other social media networks please leave a comment below.

Oh boy!
I still have not found a real catfish boat yet. Maybe the new design of the Excel Storm cat will fit the bill. Although making a deep ocean explorer boat a catfish boat is a little overboard.
Thank you for sharing
Looks like a water separator
I think you are correct. Its not on my buddys mercury which now has over 2000 hours on it.
You explain is so great about the car lot😎👍
That’s a water separator in the back I think. Sounds like you need a pontoon boat!!
You are correct, that is exactly what it is.
The water separator is a great addition to any boat!
Nice boat and good video about about it. I like your honesty. Enjoy it, tight lines.
Still a good rig. I agree about the trailer 100%. Should be double axle. I want a double axle even for my own boat
In the market for a new boat. Thank you for the insight.
Also these boats are way over priced to be a glorified jon boat.
That's why I would never pay full price for one. I got a discount on this one. I just had another company that makes commercial boats price me one the way I wanted (like the jet boat). $40k. Hard pass.
I have the Procat 240 love it
Good honest video
Pretty cool. I love your excitement. I love SeaArk boats but frankly I'm make some serious design changes. I wish I could buy a basic boat with only the ribs in it -no benches and I'll fabricate the rest.
I want to do the same some day too. Thanks
Great video
Great video buddy. Love the boat.
Its really a better boat if you order it the way you want it. They will rig for any engine you like. I have since traded up to a Lund Pro-V. But I liked my Sea Ark.
Yeah I was talking about a custom built with a close by SeaArk dealer when I found the ProCat. Maybe in a year or two I will do it.
@@TNRVG Most of the catfish guides here on Lake of the Ozarks and Truman Lake are ordering it without the huge live well in the rear. that really makes for a big cockpit.
@@michaelbandeko3519 I ordered my Seaark, very happy with it. Saved over 20k from ordering a seaark V cat factory package boat. Was able to add and only pay for what I wanted. Boat has a lot of wide open area and works great.
@@mr.gadgetfishing2134 what's factory package mean?
@@SteveZ919 THe V Cat is a factory package. You can order a standard V Jon and upgrade it. Also the VFX can be ordered and upgraded. Basic boat and build the way you want.
Very nice boat Billy it just needs slimed up good.. Watts Bar is getting better everyday got 10 nice blues this morning all over 15#..
Wow!! Cool man..
Great video and nice boat
Nice boat! I've been looking at Procat 200's. Would love to own one someday soon!
I am starting to like the G3's better. They have things installed that SeaArk didn't install on my ProCat (like a fuse block).
Look up Mul T bar rod holder this will help you.
If you’re looking for a really nice boat for cat fishing the boats we use out here in the NW would be right up your alley. You don’t have to deal with all that unnecessary platform in the back. Check out the North River, Hewescraft, or Duckworth welded aluminum boat’s..
Finding one under $80k is an issue. These Alaskan style boats are expensive.
@@TNRVG a very nice used 2019 here in Oregon will run between 30 to 50 thousand
Just an FYI they come factory rigged with Mercury all the time. Mine has a Mercury and also several at the local shop. Just has to do with how it is ordered or what the shop can service. Manufactures will offer a few motor options and they can also let the dealer order any motor brand and install at the dealer. Mine does Zuki and Merc so those are the only ones that dealer will order.
Yeah
I agree about brakes on the trailer, I have the Procat 240 and its a pig. I haul my boat with a 98 Chevy 1500 and the boat is a little bit much for the small truck, it really pushes the truck when you try to brake hard. You have to be a super defensive driver and keep lots of space between you and the person ahead of you.
Motor wise, I have a Suzuki 250 SS on mine, love that motor. Quiet and with 700 pound of fish and 6 guys in the boat ( including me), I can still run 50 MPH if I need to, usually I run 35mph or a little under 4k rpm for fuel savings, that 40 gallon tank gets drained quick on a 250.
The only problems I have had with the boat is my wash down pump is no longer working, it stopped working within the first year. It is really damned weak anyways, I usually just fill up a 5 gallon bucket of water and wash down the deck that way and if needed, I keep a scrubby brush on the boat. They also forgot to plug in the hose for the speedometer, which inst a problem because I wouldn't use it anyways. The last problem is the fuel primer ball likes to ride up and pinch the fuel line. Trying to figure a way to fix that problem. It stranded me 10 miles from a ramp down river with customers on the boat once.
That 'extra filter' next to the primer ball, that would be a water separator to get the water out of your fuel before it goes to the motor. Make sure to drain it from time to time.
As for the Oxygenation system, spoonbill have damned near destroyed mine. I need to figure out a way to protect it from them. Mine seems to work OK but I think I will be upgrading the unit if I decide to do any more catfish tournaments. You could carry Hydrogen Peroxide with you, in case you need to get an oxygen in the water in an emergency to keep fish alive. That is a bass fisherman's trick I learned.
That front live well works good in early Spring, late Fall and Winter for bait. It doesn't work so great during the summer though, as it takes the warm top water and puts it into the tank. Works good for perch to keep away from your shad if you run a bait tank. During Spoonbill season, I keep extra stuff in it, like rain jackets etc.
Does your boat like to throw fuel at you when you fill it up? mine loves to spit it up on my hand. I find running the pump as slow as possible and listening to the fuel so when it gets close you can then trickle it in until you are topped off. Also, always wear gloves when fueling up, especially if you are fueling up before a trip. Dont want gas on your hand that you touch your bait with.
As for the hole from the window. Go to a shop that does Bimini tops, they can make you a little piece to span the gap and install some snaps and you can snap it right on.
There are some things I would like change, hopefully the Procat lasts me a couple more seasons and I can upgrade.
My boat doesn't throw fuel when I fill it up thankfully. I was thinking the same thing about the hole. The enclosure SeaArk sells for this boat does the same to fill that hole. Thanks for the long reply!
@@TNRVG You might be able to get the hole filled for half the cost at another place than buying from SeaArk. I bought my Bimini top from SeaArk and they cheaped out on 1 part which broke during a gust of wind and twisted up my top. I ended up spending $25 an aluminum replacement and had no issues since. I was never able to get the top straight again though, not too much of a problem, just annoying more than anything.
Nice vid. I'd like you to do a review of the Okuma Avenger baitfeeder or the Okuma Ceymar baitfeeder. Thanks
I do talk about my Okuma Ceymar Baitfeeders in this video: ua-cam.com/video/GW0Pdi1LLu4/v-deo.html. I have them rigged up for Carp fishing again. Will talk why when I go fishing for Carp sometime in the future.
@@TNRVG Thanks... I like my Avenger BFs for both carp and pike fishing. Nice loud clicker and solid drags.
What boat allows you to walk up to the rear rod holders? The back deck is really useless.
Wooldridge. Northwest boats. Any Alaskan style boat that costs $80k unless you want it a deep V.
@@TNRVG nah.... What cat boat can I buy around Guntersville Alabama that is fiberglass? I don't like the sloshing water noise of an aluminum boat. Do you know of any good glass cat boats?
I dont know of any.
@@TNRVG
It's sad that we can't buy a glass cat boat. Wonder why??
To heavy and easily damaged. I was at a flooded launch with tons of wood launching a couple of weekends ago (Kingston City Park). At least 10 glitter boats passed this launch up because of the wood/flooding while I was launching. Even Steve Douglas gave up his modified glass boat for a Northwestern boat.
A lot of people are switching to MulTBar style rod holders and that's exactly why I love my cat rack. Seems dumb to me to step UP on the back deck, just to bend DOWN to pick up the rod. My cat rack sits just far enough back to pick up a rod while standing in the floor, but I can still step up on the deck to fight a fish if I want. Different strokes I guess!
I may upgrade to the MulTBar's someday. What I am using currently was made by another UA-camr and guide (FV Catfish).
I have an excel procat. I’m glad I went with excel and not seaarks procats. I hate the walk thru windshields. Make me feel cramped and you are always waiting on the other person to get out the way. Only plus size is running in cold weather to me. But I’ll take more comfortable fishing over that any day.
How fast does the 150hp push that boat?
I've had it as fast as 47 mph. Cruise is around 40.
Might could use rod socks on your rods when they get put in the rod box.
That is a good idea! Thanks!
Could you mount rod bases on your rear deck in front of your livewell? I have an excel and that's how I did mine. I can reach my rods without getting out of my chair. I hate the rod racks everyone has, it makes it a pain to get on the back deck.
Maybe. Getting to the underside there is a little difficult.
@@TNRVG I just drilled mine out and used stainless sheet metal screws. I use the monster rod holders extenders also.
Do you have any pictures of your old jet boat to look at😎👍
I have a tour video of it: ua-cam.com/video/wFnOnbl3_OE/v-deo.html
@@TNRVG Thank you I'm Looking At Other people set up
What kind of lights did you install on each side of the windshield?
They were work lights I got from Northern Tool. They were a little too bright for my camera and the mounting job was not that good. It's nearly impossible to mount anything on the ProCat windshield.
mercury best motor made had 1 for 7 years no problems
This is my second brand new Mercury. I am impressed!
Lol. I've had my Evinrude for 35 years and it was 10 years old when I got it and it's never seen a repair shop
Take care of anything well built and it will last forever. I know skmke with a Chevy Silverado that has 700k miles on it. Towing a boat for his guide service.
Tritoon or pontoon. They are way over looked for catfishing.
I bought a tritoon because i was in a accident and cant do all the steps you have to to with the sea arc.
I should have done it 20 years ago. Most comfort and all 1 level.
If you don't mind me asking, what does a used ProCat 200 like this go for? I'm buying a boat this spring and i'm considering a used ProCat or a Protege. Thanks.
I've seen them go from 30k to 40k depending on motor/accessories. My bank told me they could loan someone 34k for mine right now.
@@TNRVG you mentioned possibly selling the boat are you considering that at this time
It’s already sold. I have a G3 18CCJ now.
I have a 2014 SeaArk Procat 200. Overall it's ok. The fit and finish on the boat is horrible INHO, especially in areas you don't normally see. For instance, whenever they had to cut a hole to route something, or install an access, it looks like they turned a 10-year old loose with a saws-all. Even on the main panels / portions of the boat that you can see, the flooring panels are cut unevenly, screws are installed at angles and just forced in in many locations, some screws are missing where needed. The wiring is a complete joke, especially under the dash. It is a heavy duty bastard, I'll give it that. And the 175 Suzuki is a keeper. But you are going to work in the bilge or anywhere else where the saws-all masters went at it, better have a sewing kit handy and a few pints of blood, whatever type you are. First and last Ark I will own, guaranteed . May try a G3 or Express next time.
