Those rooms used to be the Marina hotel from the 70s to the 90s. I stayed in those rooms several times after the MGM Grand opened in 1994. This was the size of hotel rooms built in the 70s. My rooms in the 90s sure didn't look like this new STUDIO room. Thanks Danny!😊😊😊
I can remember going to the MGM Grand and it was still under construction, time really speeds by. In that trip the Luxor was not yet finished, the Mirage volcano was new and Treasure Island had the free outdoor pirate shows. It is now 30 years later.
I have also heard The Venetian has a endless hallway. I wonder if The MGM hallway leads to Venetian. That hallway looks like the hallway from the movie "The Shining".
Took my mom to Las Vegas for her last trip before she passed away from cancer. Had a great time at MGM in our suite that friends paid for. Thx for the review.
When staying in Vegas, I always have to remember to request the room closest to the elevator. Or else I get stuck with the wall of shame at the end of the night.
I agree they should remove the mini bar snacks. Especially at the MGM Grand there’s a kiosk to purchase drinks & snacks before entering elevators. Stayed in those rooms in March & I really enjoyed it to work by the window and just veg out & watch TV. Love the uniqueness of this hallway. It’s a quiet hallway. You DO get your steps in with walking to/from elevators.
It's a perfectly good room for a single person ir a couple who wants to be cozy. When people still advise against those rooms I defend them. I agree about the mini bar though.
Wr stayed at MGM 16 years ago. The room was off the gaming floor one floor down, the elevator has 1 and 2 buttons. We opened our curtain for the view, it was a loading dock with semis unloading all times of day n night. It was comped and we didn't care, totally weird n creepy.
The studio tower are the old Marina hotel rooms that they incorporated into the MGM when Kerkorian bought the Marina. If these are the rooms, they did a good job renovating them. If you look at the four wings of the MGM, it's the northwest wing which are the old Marina rooms that were originally built back in 1973. MGM sure got it's money's worth out of that building. 🤣
The green roof right outside your window is The MANSION at MGM Grand. Go try to sneak in. There is an entrance in the casino near the studio room entrance
I agree, they need to get rid of it. Way overpriced. Should only provide the standard......free water and coffee. It's crazy that they are now changing for a refrigerator on a daily basis...... they are nickeling and dimeing so much now.
Danny... I treat hotels excessively expensive, bull-beep in-room items like a grenade. No touchy list - Coworkers private parts at work by accident - Hotel in-room chargeable item by accident
@@dannythemedic Yes, I joined a few that are $2.99 a month, they just give special icons that show up next to your comments on videos and when they do live chats, which you should do once in a while, they change the icon the longer you are a member, post messages in the members only section, add a video occasionally for only members, it doesn't have to be much, just for people that want to support you. If you even get 50 people to do it that's a lot of Ravioli and not a lot of extra work. Just my opinion!
I made 565 trips to Las Vegas since 1965. I retired to Vegas in 2021. Most of my comps have dried up. You still get the comps even though you live here?
Lol I hear, but let's break it down 1. They have them in most of the rooms bc they make money for the hotel if not they wouldn't be there, so who's using them in order for it to be worthwhile for the hotel..? Guests who are ok paying the same price for a drink in the room as it costs in a hotel bar bc in my experience the mini bar is usually priced to match the hotel bar/room service price.
This is original Marina hotel rooms. They built MGM Grand around this hotel as a remodel. These rooms are small. Not a fan. Thanks for the updated tour

That is a pretty nicely remodeled studio room. Thx for the tour.
Thanks for sharing Danny...do love to see new room renovations 👍👍👍

wow, thank you!
Great review of the wing that hasn’t gotten any attention in years. Thanks DTM!
My pleasure!
I have also heard The Venetian has a endless hallway. I wonder if The MGM hallway leads to Venetian. That hallway looks like the hallway from the movie "The Shining".
omg I was half expecting to see two little girls in blue dresses. 😨 Glad I'm not the only one.

we all miss our moms, mines was one of a kind!

You’re really good at being so thorough and easy to understand. Thank you.
You're very welcome!
1:53 A day late, but May the Fourth be with you, DTM.
Do love those cool barn doors

Nice looking room. I'm like you, I don't want to look at the minibar. Too expensive.

I agree about the mini bar though.
The only time I ever take M and M’s, snickers or other things is usually on the last day when I know I have extra comps to use on my room.
i did that one time at the cosmo when I had 30 bucks left and not enough time to go eat anything!
I almost ate an $8 snicker bar once lol, but realized there was a vending machine down the hall for waaaay cheaper!
There is also a dollar tree and Walmart 2 miles up the road.

MGM calls it the “west” wing because it faces directly west
If you stayed in a room there every day it would take 15 yrs to do it. Learned that on the old Travel Channel

Go sneak in Danny. We need a peak at some Mansion action🤩LFG
I might get thrown out!
DTM, Always love your work! Unique and smartly done! But...unlike you, you forgot to point out the big gnarly stain on the left hand orange chair!!
Did I miss a gnarly stain? noooooooo
OMG .. a dark streak on the cushion right where a butt crack would have been!
😂😂😂
@@dannythemedic a butt crack stain 😂
Never used any mini bar items... imagine how much they have to throw away because food gets old?
Which mgm do you like better? I don’t know what that design is at park mgm rooms, but I like their pool and dining options better
We do not use any of the in room for sale products

Danny, I enjoyed the video. Why don't you have memberships to this channel with people can join for a few bucks a month like other channels?
should I ? and what would I offer to members?

I still prefer park mgm but be safe and dine on!
I only use the glasses and ice bucket

Its not where you live, it is how much you gamble
I watched another video about hotel rooms can you believe $19 for a Snickers Bar YIKES!!!
The mini bar is used by business travelers who have the rooms booked and expensed directly to their company.
employees who use mini bar should be fired! unless they work for apple
Lol I hear, but let's break it down
1. They have them in most of the rooms bc they make money for the hotel if not they wouldn't be there, so who's using them in order for it to be worthwhile for the hotel..?

I am convinced that they put the mini bar not to make money, but rather to annoy people.
Is it true that if you live in Vegas, casinos won't give you free rooms anymore?
When I stay at a higher level hotel all the same to me see one you see them all
I never touch the minibar in a hotel room.
This is original Marina hotel rooms. They built MGM Grand around this hotel as a remodel. These rooms are small. Not a fan. Thanks for the updated tour
NOOOO WAY! Don’t know anyone that does
Bathroom Barn Doors ? I am flushed! #wulffdendad
🤙
3:20 start of room review
I'm too cheap for a hotelroom with a minibar, or even a fridge.
I once got charged £107 for 6 cokes and 2 bags of cookies whilst in London I HATE minibars
ooo they need to make them illegal!
No mini bar for me. Way too overpriced.
Did you hear about the room renovations for the Venetian hotel?
Only people who use minibar are there on business and expense it to their company or someone with $250 per day food and beverage credit.
